Flexible-robust hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks(HOFs)are attracting increasing interest due to their excellent separation performance for important industrial gases,but the construction remains challenging.Herein,a sticked-layer strategy is first proposed to construct a flexible-robust HOF,HOFFJU-8,from a donor(D)–π–acceptor(A)molecule 4,4′,4″,4‴-(pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole-1,2,4,5-tetrayl)tetrabenzonitrile(DP-4CN).HOF-FJU-8 is amicroporous three-dimensional framework composed of two kinds of DP-4CN molecules,one acting as building units for the two-dimensional layer via C≡N···H–C hydrogen bond dimers and another as the sticks to link the layers along channels through D–Aπ···πinteractions.The activated framework HOF-FJU-8a possesses flexible-robust pore characteristics,as determined by the gas adsorption and in situ gas-loaded powder X-ray diffraction.HOF-FJU-8a exhibits adaptive adsorption and stronger binding affinity to C_(2)H_(2)rather than CO_(2)due to the flexible-robust nature,which can effectively separate acetylene and carbon dioxide mixtures.

Although the construction of specific functional crystalline materials is still challenging,the multi-component molecular assembly has become a key solution for the design of functional materials.Here,we report a hydrogen-bonded organic framework(HOF)material FJU-360 constructed from disodium 6‑hydroxy-5-[(4-sulfophenyl)azo]-2-naphthalenesulfonate(SSY)and terephthalimidamide.The charge-assisted hydrogen bonding between amidinium and sulfonate makes FJU-360 produce much stronger fluorescence than SSY,and can be used as a luminescence sensor to rapidly quench aniline through luminescence quenching.FJU-360 is sensitive and highly selective for the detection of aniline,and the detection limit reached 3.2 nmol/L,which is the lowest value reported currently.The mechanism of aniline response was analyzed through the aniline@FJU-360 single crystal structure,and the luminescence mechanism was clarified through density function theory calculations.This work is an important step towards the rational synthesis and assembly of sensing materials.

Revealing structural isomerization in metal clusters would bridge a huge structural gap between small molecular isomerization and solid–solid phase transformation.However,genuine structural isomerism in metal clusters is still rare.In this work,we report the first example of structural isomerismin Cu clusters.By utilizing the coordination flexibility of alkyne to enable the migration of partial Cu atoms in Cu metal cores,two Cu_(15)cluster complexes(Cu_(15)-a and Cu_(15)-c)possessing identical composition but different metal core structures have been successfully isolated.Interestingly,although the structure of Cu_(15)-a can be retained in CH_(2)C_(l2)solution below 27°C,it will gradually change to give an intermediate state,Cu_(15)-b,as the temperature rises(at about 31°C)before it eventually transforms into Cu_(15)-c(at 40∼65°C).Significantly,atomically precise Cu_(15)-b clearly provides footprints for tracing the thermal migration process of Cu atoms during the thermal transformation from Cu_(15)-a to Cu_(15)-c.In addition,Cu_(15)-a and Cu_(15)-c exhibit diverse crystallization-induced emission enhancement phenomena.Crystalline Cu_(15)-c displays redshifted photoluminescence(820 nm)compared with Cu_(15)-a(726 nm)due to the shorter mean Cu···Cu distance in Cu_(15)-c.Notwithstanding,crystalline Cu_(15)-a exhibits much more intense photoluminescence at room temperature than that in Cu_(15)-c,which might be attributed to the stronger intermolecular C–H⋯πinteractions in Cu_(15)-a.These results indicate that cluster isomerism provides valuable opportunities for insight into the structure–property relationships and understanding the complex evolution of phase transformation in nanometallic solids.

Acetylene purification from methane is challenging in the field of porous organic polymers(POPs).Herein,we have provided one-pot Ullmann coupling reaction to synthesize a series of POPs with rich N-sites,named FJU-POP-n,wherein the low-cost and non-toxic Cu(acac)2 and environmental-friendly glycerol are employed as catalyst and solvent,respectively.

We report a microporous aluminum-based metal-organic framework(MOF),BUT-22 for high methane(CH_(4)),hydrogen(H_(2)),and carbon dioxide(CO2)storage.At 296 K and 80 bar,BUT-22 exhibits a high gravimetric CH4 storage capacity of 530 cm^(3)(STP)/g(0.379 g/g).BUT-22 also has a high gravimetric H_(2)storage capacity of 12 wt.%at 100 bar and 77 K.In addition,the CO_(2)adsorption studies revealed that BUT-22 exhibits a high absolute gravimetric CO2 uptake of 1.7 g/g at 296 K and 40 bar.

Background Depression is a common mental illness in childhood and adolescence,with an incidence of 4%–5%;it can lead to impairments in learning and social functioning.Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation(taVNS)is a commonly used method of auricular acupuncture point stimulation,which is regarded as an effective treatment for adults with depression.The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of taVNS for adolescents with mild to moderate depression.Methods This randomized controlled clinical trial will include 120 patients aged 12–16 years,all of whom are diagnosed with mild to moderate depression.Patients will be randomly assigned to a taVNS group and a drug control group(sertraline hydrochloride)at a ratio of 1:1.Patients will be evaluated using the 17‐item Hamilton Depression Scale,Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale,Self‐Rating Depression Scale,Self‐Rating Anxiety Scale,and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores at baseline,as well as at the 2nd,4th,6th,8th,and 12th weeks.To investigate the underlying neural mechanisms of taVNS treatment from the perspective of the default mode network,multimodal magnetic resonance imaging(MRI;i.e.,structural MRI[sMRI],resting state MRI[rsMRI],and pseudocontinuous arterial spin‐labeled[pcASL]MRI)will be used to compare cerebral images among groups.MRI data will also be collected from 40 healthy volunteers to assess whether the participants exhibit normal development of structural and functional components.Discussion Depression is the most common mental disorder in adolescence.Drug treatment can improve depression symptoms;however,the side effects of drug treatments are often severe.This study proposes a simple physiotherapy that aims to treat adolescents with mild to moderate depression.The mechanism of taVNS in the treatment of depression will also be investigated.The results of this study will provide evidence to guide the application of taVNS in adolescents with depression.

Two novel anionic single-walled metal-organic nanotubes(MONTs),[(CH_(3))_(2)NH_(2)][ln(cdc)(thb)].2DMF.9.5H_(2)O(FJU-105)and[(CH_(3))_(2)NH_(2)][ln(cdc)(H-btc)]-2DMA·11H_(2)O(FJU-106)(H_(2)cdc=9H-carbazole-3,6-dicarboxylic acid,H_(2)thb=2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid,H3btc=1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid),are achieved by employing[ln_(6)(cdc)_(6)]^(6+)metalloring cluster with largest diameter as the secondary building blocks(SBUs).The inner surface of FJU-106 is functionalized by uncoordinated-COOH groups of the H-btc linkers,leading to a higher proton conduction than FJU-105.At 70℃,FJU-106 displays the proton conduction performances among MONTs,up to 1.80×10^(-2)S·cm(^-1).And FJU-105 and FJU-106 are the first examples of MONT proton conductors operating at subzero temperature.

Hierarchically porous materials play an important role in facilitating mass transport and improving efficiency of adsorption and separation processes. In this paper, a new strategy is proposed to realize a hierarchically porous metal-organic framework （[Cu2（OH）（L）]＇（DMF）0.8 （FJU-11, H3L=3,5-（4-carboxybenzyloxy）benzoic acid, DMF= N,N-dimethylformamide） via using semi-rigid multi-carboxylic acids. Interestingly, FJU-11 possesses the large adsorption capacities and small isosteric heats toward CO2. The column breakthrough experiment for FJU-11 highlights its potential application in the separation of the flue gas.

A novel hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks(HOFs)FJU-200 has been constructed from N,N’-bis(5-isophthalic acid)naphthalimide(H_(4)L).FJU-200 has a good dual-function of aniline and ultraviolet detection.FJU-200 is the first case of HOF with dual sensing of visual color changes and photoluminescence quenching for aniline detection,and the detection limit of aniline can reach5.5 x 10^(-4)mol/L.Under ultraviolet FJU-200 will rapidly change from light yellow to rustic brown,which makes it possible to use FJU-200 to achieve minute-level ultraviolet detection.Moreover,for more convenient use,FJU-200 test papers are prepared.Using them,convenient and fast aniline or ultraviolet detection can be realized.The single-crystal X-ray structures show that compared with the original FJU-200,both PhNH_(2)@FJU-200 and UV-FJU-200 have larger pore sizes,and the dihedral angles of the H_(2)L^(2-)in framework has been changed.

Nitrogen doping is usually adopted in carbon based supercapacitor to enhance its relatively low energy density by providing extra pseudocapacity.However,the improvement of energy density is normally limited because the content of the introduced nitrogen species is not high and meanwhile only part of them is electrochemically active.Herein,we designed and fabricated a class of hierarchical nitrogen-rich porous carbons(HNPCs)possessing not only very high nitrogen content(up to 21.7 atom%)but also fully electrochemically active nitrogen species(i.e.,pyridinic N,pyrrolic N and oxidized N).Especially,in the synthesis of HNPCs,graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4)was used in situ not only as a nitrogen source but also as a catalyst to facilitate the polymerization of phenol and formaldehyde(as carbon precursor)and as a template to create the hierarchical porous structure.As electrodes for aqueous symmetric supercapacitor,the HNPCs with full faradaic-active nitrogen functionalities exhibit excellent supercapacitor performance:high energy density of 36.8 Wh/kg at 2.0 kW/kg(maintaining 25.7 Wh/kg at 38 kW/kg),superior rate capability with 78%capacitance retention from 1.0 to 20 A/g and excellent cycling stability with over95%capacitance retention after 10000 cycles,indicating their promising application potential in electrochemical energy storage.This novel carbon material with high-content and full electrochemically active nitrogen species may find extensive potential applications in the energy storage/conversion,catalysis,adsorption,and so on.
