Water fluoride pollution has caused non-negligible harm to the environment and humans,and thus it is crucial to find a suitable treatment technology.In this study,La-Fe@PTA adsorbent was synthesized for the defluoridation of mine water.The results showed that the optimum conditions for defluoridation by La-Fe@PTA were p H close to 7.0,the initial F-concentration of 10 mg/L,the dosage of 0.5 g/L and the adsorption time of 240 min.Compared with SO_4^(2-),Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-),Ca^(2+)and Mg^(2+),CO_(3)^(2-)and HCO_(3)^(-)presented severer inhibition on fluoride uptake by La-Fe@PTA.The adsorption process fits well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich model,and the maximum adsorption capacity of Langmuir model was 95 mg/g.Fixed-bed adsorption results indicated that fluoride in practical fluorinated mine water could be effectively removed from 3.6 mg/L to less than 1.5 mg/L within130 bed volume(BV)by using 1.5 g La-Fe@PTA.Furthermore,the adsorbent still had good adsorption capacity after regeneration,which confirms the great application potential of La-Fe@PTA as a fluoride ion adsorbent.The mechanism analysis showed that La-Fe@PTA adsorption of fluorine ions is a physicochemical reaction driven by electrostatic attraction and ion exchange.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the influence of Sailuotong(塞络通,SLT)on the Neurovascular Unit(NVUs)of amyloid precursor protein(APP)/presenilin-1(PS1)mice and evaluate the role of gas supplementation in activating blood circulation during the progression of Alzheimer's disease(AD).METHODS:The mice were allocated into the following nine groups:(a)the C57 Black(C57BL)sham-operated group(control group),(b)ischaemic treatment in C57BL mice(the C57 ischaemic group),(c)the APP/PS1 sham surgery group(APP/PS1 model group),(d)ischaemic treatment in APP/PS1 mice(APP/PS1 ischaemic group),(e)C57BL mice treated with aspirin following ischaemic treatment(C57BL ischaemic+aspirin group),(f)C57BL mice treated with SLT following ischaemic treatment(C57BL ischaemic+SLT group),(g)APP/PS1 mice treated with SLT(APP/PS1+SLT group),(h)APP/PS1 mice treated with donepezil hydrochloride following ischaemic treatment(APP/PS1 ischaemic+donepezil hydrochloride group)and(i)APP/PS1 mice treated with SLT following ischaemic treatment(APP/PS1 ischaemic+SLT group).The ischaemic model was established by operating on the bilateral common carotid arteries and creating a microembolism.The Morris water maze and step-down tests were used to detect the spatial behaviour and memory ability of mice.The hippocampus of each mouse was observed by haematoxylin and eosin(HE)and Congo red staining.The ultrastructure of NVUs in each group was observed by electron microscopy,and various biochemical indicators were detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The protein expression level was detected by Western blot.The mRNA expression was detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).RESULTS:The results of the Morris water maze and step-down tests showed that ischemia reduced learning and memory in the mice,which were restored by SLT.The results of HE staining showed that SLT restored the pathological changes of the NVUs.The Congo red staining results revealed that SLT also improved the scattered orange-red sediments in the upper cortex and hip

In this paper, we introduce the notion of a generalized weak group-like algebra which is designed to cover finite groupoid algebras and group-like algebras. Then we construct a list of examples and show that a generalized weak group-like algebra can be regarded as a generalized weak bi-Frobenius algebra. Moreover, we discuss when a generalized weak bi-Frobenius algebra is a groupoid algebra. Finally, we give the classifications of low-dimensional generalized weak group-like algebras.

The chemical recycling of polyolefin presents a considerable challenge,especially as upcycling methods struggle with the reality that plastic wastes typically consist of mixtures of polyethylene(PE),polystyrene(PS),and polypropylene(PP).We report a catalytic aerobic oxidative approach for polyolefins upcycling with the corresponding carboxylic acids as the product.This method encompasses three key innovations.First,it operates under atmospheric pressure and mild conditions,using O_(2) or air as the oxidant.Second,it is compatible with high-density polyethylene,low-density polyethylene,PS,PP,and their blends.Third,it uses an economical and recoverable metal catalyst.It has been demonstrated that this approach can efficiently degrade mixed wastes of plastic bags,bottles,masks,and foam boxes.

As a new type of equipment for solar medium temperature utilization, the compound parabolic concentrator-pulsating heat pipe solar collector(CPC-PHPSC) uses pulsating heat pipe(PHP) as an endotherm, which can realize efficient energy conversion. The design of proper concentration ratio of compound parabolic concentrator(CPC) ensures that the incident sunlight can be concentrated on the evaporator section surface of PHP without solar tracking system. The objective of the present work is to study the influence of solar radiation intensity, air speed, material thickness(glass and insulation board) and tilt angle on the thermal performance of the new collector, which is difficult to control in the experiment. The heat leakage process and characteristics of the CPC-PHPSC were numerically studied by establishing a 3D numerical model of the collector unit. The results show that the theoretical collector efficiency of CPC-PHPSC reaches 74.5%, which is consistent with the experimental results. During operation, the heat collection performance is the best when the tilt angle is 45° and the solar radiation intensity is 1000 W/m^(2), while the excessive air speed will increase the convective heat loss. Increasing the thickness of insulation board and glass has little effect on the collector efficiency.

This paper proposes an analytical model for evaluating the dynamic response of an underground railway tunnel in layered foundation soil with different saturations.The soil is modeled as layered media,and the circular tunnel lining is modeled as an infinite Flügge cylindrical shell.The separation of variables method is used to solve the motion equation of the shell,and the wave equation of the soil is solved using the Helmholtz decomposition theorem.A dynamic matrix reflecting the wave vectors of soil layers is established using the transfer matrix method.Based on boundary conditions,the tunnel-soil model is coupled using the transformation method of plane wave functions and cylindrical wave functions.The proposed model is validated by comparison with existing tunnel models,and the effects of saturation and the layered properties of soil on the dynamic response of a layered tunnel-soil system is demonstrated via case studies.

To the Editor:Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT)is one of the most effective options for hematological diseases.However,allo-HSCT treatment can cause serious complications.Post-transplant kidney damage is an important complication.In this study,we retrospectively analyzed the frequency of nephrotic syndrome(NS)after allo-HSCT and compared the frequency and clinical characteristics of NS between haploidentical donor(HID)and matched donor(MD)HSCT(including matched sibling donors[MSD]and unrelated donors[URD]).

Background: The role of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in children with high-risk (HR) T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) in first complete remission (CR1) is still under evaluation. Moreover, relapse is the main factor affecting survival. This study aimed to explore the effect of allo-HSCT (especially haploidentical HSCT [haplo-HSCT]) on improving survival and reducing relapse for HR childhood T-ALL in CR1 and the prognostic factors of childhood T-ALL in order to identify who could benefit from HSCT.Methods: A total of 74 newly diagnosed pediatric T-ALL patients between January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2018 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Patients were stratified into the low-risk chemotherapy cohort (n = 16), HR chemotherapy cohort (n = 31), and HR transplant cohort (n = 27). Characteristics, survival outcomes, and prognostic factors of all patients were then analyzed.Results: Patient prognosis in the HR chemotherapy cohort was significantly worse than that in the low-risk chemotherapy cohort (5-year overall survival [OS]: 58.5%vs. 100%,P = 0.003;5-year event-free survival [EFS]: 54.1%vs. 83.4%,P = 0.010;5-year cumulative incidence of relapse [CIR]: 45.2%vs. 6.3%,P = 0.011). In HR patients, allo-HSCT improved the 5-year EFS and CIR compared to that of chemotherapy (5-year EFS: 80.1%vs. 54.1%,P = 0.041;5-year CIR: 11.6%vs. 45.2%,P = 0.006). The 5-year OS was higher in the HR transplant cohort than that in the HR chemotherapy cohort (81.0%vs. 58.5%,P = 0.084). Minimal residual disease re-emergence was an independent risk factor for 5-year OS, EFS, and CIR;age ≥10 years was an independent risk factor for OS and EFS;and high white blood cell count was an independent risk factor for EFS and CIR.Conclusion: Allo-HSCT, especially haplo-HSCT, could effectively reduce relapse of children with HR T-ALL in CR1.

High-energy gamma-ray radiography has exceptional penetration ability and has become an indispensable nondestructive testing(NDT)tool in various fields.For high-energy photons,point projection radiography is almost the only feasible imaging method,and its spatial resolution is primarily constrained by the size of the gamma-ray source.In conventional industrial applications,gamma-ray sources are commonly based on electron beams driven by accelerators,utilizing the process of bremsstrahlung radiation.The size of the gamma-ray source is dependent on the dimensional characteristics of the electron beam.Extensive research has been conducted on various advanced accelerator technologies that have the potential to greatly improve spatial resolution in NDT.In our investigation of laser-driven gamma-ray sources,a spatial resolution of about 90μm is achieved when the areal density of the penetrated object is 120 g/cm^(2).A virtual source approach is proposed to optimize the size of the gamma-ray source used for imaging,with the aim of maximizing spatial resolution.In this virtual source approach,the gamma ray can be considered as being emitted from a virtual source within the convertor,where the equivalent gamma-ray source size in imaging is much smaller than the actual emission area.On the basis of Monte Carlo simulations,we derive a set of evaluation formulas for virtual source scale and gamma-ray emission angle.Under optimal conditions,the virtual source size can be as small as 15μm,which can significantly improve the spatial resolution of high-penetration imaging to less than 50μm.

Measurable residual disease(MRD) is a powerful prognostic factor of relapse in acute myeloid leukemia(AML). We applied the single-cell RNA sequencing to bone marrow(BM) samples from patients with(n=20) and without(n=12) MRD after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. A comprehensive immune landscape with 184,231 cells was created. Compared with CD8+T cells enriched in the MRDnegative group(MRD-＿CD8), those enriched in the MRD-positive group(MRD+＿CD8) showed lower expression levels of cytotoxicity-related genes. Three monocyte clusters(i.e., MRD+＿M) and three B-cell clusters(i.e., MRD+＿B) were enriched in the MRD-positive group. Conversion from an MRD-positive state to an MRD-negative state was accompanied by an increase in MRD-＿CD8 clusters and vice versa. MRDenriched cell clusters employed the macrophage migration inhibitory factor pathway to regulate MRD-＿CD8 clusters. These findings revealed the characteristics of the immune cell landscape in MRD positivity, which will allow for a better understanding of the immune mechanisms for MRD conversion.
