Background:Bortezomib results in peripheral neuropathy(PN)in approximately 50%of patients,during multiple myeloma(MM)treatment,a complication known as Bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy(BIPN).The drug response varies among *** factor may play an important role in ***:A nextgeneration sequencing(NGS)panel containing 1659 targets from 233 genes was used to identify risk variants for developing BIPN in 204 MM patients who received bortezomib *** expression of MTHFR and ALDH1A1 in 62 peripheral blood samples was detected by real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR).Serum homocysteine(Hcy)levels were detected in 40 samples by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay(CMIA).Results:Compared with the non-BIPN group(n=89),a total of 8 significantly associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were identified in the BIPN group(n=115):MTHFR(rs1801131,rs1801133,rs17421511),EPHX1(rs1051740),MME(rs2016848),ALDH1A1(rs6151031),HTR7(rs1935349)and CYP2A6(rs8192720).The mRNA expression level of MTHFR in newly diagnosed patients with peripheral neuritis after treatment(NP group)was lower than that of newly diagnosed patients without peripheral neuritis after treatment(NnP group)(1.70±0.77 vs.2.81±0.97,p=0.009).Serum Hcy levels were significantly higher in BIPN group than in non-BIPN group(11.66±1.79μmol/L vs.8.52±3.29μmol/L,p=0.016)and healthy controls(11.66±1.79μmol/L vs.8.55±2.13μmol/L,p≤0.001).Conclusion:CYP2A6,EPHX1,MTHFR,ALDH1A1,HTR7,MME and BIPN are linked in Chinese MM *** is more likely to occur in patients with lower MTHFR mRNA expression,which might result in higher serum Hcy levels.

Effect of Blood Circulation in Veins on Resonance Suppression of the Dragonfly Wing Constructed by Numerical Method

To reveal the resonance suppression mechanism of the blood circulation in dragonfly wings,a numerical modeling method of dragonfly wings based on Voronoi diagrams is proposed,and the changes in mass,aerodynamic damping,and natural frequencies caused by blood circulation in veins are *** equivalent mass of blood,boundary conditions,and aerodynamic damping are calculated *** analysis and harmonic response analysis of wing models with different blood circulation paths are performed using the finite-element method(FEM).The vibration reduction ratioδis introduced to compare the damping efficiency of different mass ***,a natural frequency testing device is constructed to measure the natural frequencies of dragonfly *** results indicate that the shape,mass,and natural frequencies of the dragonfly wing model constructed by numerical method agree well with *** mass distribution on the wing can be altered by blood circulation,thereby adjusting the natural frequencies and achieving resonance *** highestδof 1.013 is observed in the C region when blood circulates solely in secondary veins,but it is still lower than theδof 1.017 when blood circulates in complete *** aerodynamic damping ratio(1.19–1.79%)should not be neglected in the vibration analysis of the beating wing.

Cooked rice and the vegetables like lettuce are common kitchen waste, which are carbonaceous materials and have the potential as feedstock for the production of activated carbon. Cooking is similar to hydrothermal treatment（HTC）, which might impact the subsequent activation of kitchen waste. In this study, the HTC of lettuce, rice, or their mixture and the activation of the resulting hydrochars were conducted. The results indicated that cross-polymerization between the N-containing organics from lettuce and the sugar derivatives from rice took place in their co-HTC, which significantly increased the hydrochar yield. Activation of the hydrochar from the coHTC generated the AC with a yield of 2 times that from direct activation of mixed lettuce/rice. However, the coHTC facilitated aromatization, reducing reactivity with K2C2O4in activation and producing the AC with main micropores and low specific surface area. Activation of the hydrochar from HTC of rice followed the above trend,while that from lettuce was the opposite. The organics in lettuce were thermally unstable and could not undergo sufficient aromatization. The activation of hydrochar from HTC of lettuce thus generated the AC with the lowest yield, but the highest specific surface area（1684.9 m2/g）, abundant mesopores, and superior capability for adsorption of tetracycline. However, the environmental impacts and energy consumption for the production of AC from the hydrochar of lettuce were higher than that from hydrochar of co-HTC.

Drought is one of the abiotic stresses limiting the production of soybean(Glycine max).Elucidation of the genetic and molecular basis of the slow-wilting(SW)trait of this crop offers the prospect of its genetic improvement.A panel of 188 accessions and a set of recombinant inbred lines produced from a cross between cultivars Liaodou 14 and Liaodou 21 were used to identify quantitative-trait loci(QTL)associated with *** were genotyped by Specific-locus amplified fragment sequencing and seedling leaf wilting was assessed under three water-stress treatments.A genome-wide association study identified 26 SW-associated single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),including three located in a 248-kb linkage-disequilibrium(LD)block on chromosome *** mapping revealed a major-effect QTL,qSW2,associated with all three treatments and adjacent to the LD *** mapping in a BC_(2)F_(3) population derived from a backcross between Liaodou 21 and R26 confined qSW2 to a 60-kb *** expression and sequence variation analysis identified the gene Glyma.02 g218100,encoding an auxin transcription factor,as a candidate gene for *** results will contribute significantly to improving drought-resistant soybean cultivars by providing genetic information and resources.

Interactions of cellulose-and lignin-derived intermediates have been well documented during pyrolysis of lignocellulosic *** reaction network for the interactions is rather complex,as cellulose-derived volatiles could interact/react with not only lignin-derived volatiles but also lignin-derived char and vice *** probe specifically the impacts of cellulose-derived volatiles on the lignin-derived char or the opposite,herein the sequential pyrolysis was performed by arranging cellulose in the upper bed with lignin in the lower bed or lignin above with cellulose below at 350 and 650℃,*** results indicated that the sequential pyrolysis of cellulose→lignin or lignin→cellulose at 350℃induced increased char yield from formation of carbonaceous deposits via volatiles-char *** with the lignin-derived volatiles,the cellulose-derived volatiles,especially aldehyde fractions,were more reactive towards the lignin-derived char at 350℃,forming oxygen-rich lignin-derived char with a higher yield,an abundance of aliphatic structures and consequently lower thermal *** sequential pyrolysis of lignin→cellulose,more aromatics-rich species were deposited on cellulose-derived char,but the lignin-derived volatiles were less reactive for enhancing the char *** 650℃,instead of polymerisation of the volatiles on the char,either the cellulose-or lignin-derived char catalyzed the cracking of the counterpart volatiles to remove the aliphatic functionalities,which made the char more aromatic and thermally more stable.

Objective Chlorination is often used to disinfect recreational water in large amusement parks;however,the health hazards of chlorination disinfection by-products(DBPs)to occupational populations are *** study aimed to assess the exposure status of chlorinated DBPs in recreational water and the health risks to employees of large amusement *** Exposure parameters of employees of three large amusement parks in Shanghai were investigated using a *** typical chlorinated DBPs in recreational water and spray samples were quantified by gas chromatography,and the health risks to amusement park employees exposed to chlorinated DBPs were evaluated according to the WHO's risk assessment *** Trichloroacetic acid,dibromochloromethane,bromodichloromethane,and dichloroacetic acid were detected predominantly in recreational *** carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks of the five DBPs did not exceed the risk *** addition,the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks of mixed exposure to DBPs were within the acceptable risk *** Typical DBPs were widely detected in recreational water collected from three large amusement parks in Shanghai;however,the health risks of DBPs and their mixtures were within acceptable limits.

Analysis of the Mechanism of Intervention of Fangxiangxiaozhi Prescription on Dyslipidemia Based on Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking

Objective: To explore the mechanism of intervention of Fangxiangxiaozhi prescription on dyslipidemia by using network pharmacology and molecular docking. Methods: The traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP), Pubchem, Uniprot, and other databases were adopted to screen the active ingredients and the corresponding targets of Fangxiangxiaozhi prescription. Dyslipidemia-related targets were identified using the databases of Disgenet and GeneCards. Then, the intersection target of drugs and diseases was demonstrated via a Venn diagram. Cytoscape3.7.2 was used to construct a “drugs-active ingredients-intersection targets” network map and the key active ingredients with the top 7-degree values were determined. The protein interaction network and topology analysis of the intersection target genes were carried out by combining STRING11.0 and Cytoscape3.7.2. Moreover, the gene ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis of the intersection target genes were carried out using the Metascape database. Lastly, the key active ingredients and targets were molecular docked by AutoDockTools, Pymol, and other software. Results: There were 51 active components and 509 target genes of which 74 intersect with dyslipidemia. The key targets included tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-6 (IL-6), AKT1, PPAR gamma (PPARG), VEGFA, and PPARα. GO enrichment analysis obtained 1040 biological processes, 33 cell components, and 84 molecular functions;KEGG enrichment analysis obtained 148 pathways. The molecular docking results showed that the key targets and compounds exhibited good binding force. Conclusion: The active ingredients of Fangxiangxiaozhi prescription regulated several pathways through multiple targets to intervene in dyslipidemia. This study can serve as a foundation for further research.

Moiré superlattices(MSLs) are modulated structures produced from homogeneous or heterogeneous two-dimensional layers stacked with a twist angle and/or lattice mismatch. Enriching the methods for fabricating MSL and realizing the unique emergent properties are key challenges in its investigation. Here we recommend that the spiral dislocation driven growth is another optional method for the preparation of high quality MSL samples. The spiral structure stabilizes the constant out-of-plane lattice distance, causing the variations in electronic and optical properties. Taking SnS_(2) MSL as an example, we find prominent properties including large band gap reduction(~ 0.4 e V) and enhanced optical activity. Firstprinciples calculations reveal that these unusual properties can be ascribed to the locally enhanced interlayer interaction associated with the Moiré potential modulation. We believe that the spiral dislocation driven growth would be a powerful method to expand the MSL family and broaden their scope of application.
