Traditional chinese Medicine Based on zheng Differentiation versus Angiotensin Receptor Blocker/Angiotensin?converting Enzyme Antagonist in Efficacy of Treating Diabetic Kidney Disease: A Meta?analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials

Objective: To compare the efficacy of traditional chinese medicine(TCM) based on zheng differentiation with angiotensin receptor blocker/angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ARB/ACEI) in treating diabetic kidney disease(DKD) from the aspects of decreasing urinary microalbumin, declining 2.-h urinary protein, reducing endpoint events, and renal function protection. Methods: The chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM), the chinese academy of sciences database(CNKI), the VIP chinese journal database, Wanfang DATA, Medline database, Cochrane library, excerpt medical database(Embase), and Web of science were used for literature searching. The reviewer manager5.3 software was utilized to analyze the data. Results: Twenty-four studies including 1956 participants were involved in this review. Results showed that TCM had a better effect(mean difference [MD],-2..2., 95% confidence interval [CI],-30.60 to-15.79, P 2.-h urinal protein, decreasing 0.36 g/2. h(95% CI,-0.45 to-0.2., P 2.to 2. weeks) subgroup but only 0.08 g/2. h(95% CI,-0.13 to-0.03, P = 0.0006) in the longer follow-up period(>2. weeks) subgroup. TCM worked as well as ACEI/ARB in reducing endpoint events(relative risk, 0.67, 95% CI, 0.2.–2.2.4, P = 0.51)and decreasing urinary albumin concentration(UAC)(MD,-16.50, 95% CI,-46.2.–13.2., P = 0.2.). As for protecting renal function, TCM had an equal effect to AECI/ARB in improving creatinine clearance ratio(MD,-3.30, 95% CI,-6.66–0.03, P = 0.05) or estimated glomerular filtration rate(MD, 1.00, 95% CI,-0.59–2.58, P = 0.2.). Objective To examine the relationship between overweight or obesity and the risk of the various hypertension hemodynamic subtypes in Yi farmers and migrants. Methods A cross-sectional study of 2.358 Yi farmers and 2.392.Yi migrants was carried out in the Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture, Sichuan,{2. in 2.07. Results The standardized prevalence of overweight in female Yi farmers （6.2.%） was higher than in males （3.2.%）, whereas in Yi migrants 32.56% of males and 2..78% of females were overweight. The standardized prevalence of obesity was 0 and 0.62. in male and female Yi farmers, compared to 3.91% and 5.57% in male and female Yi migrants, respectively. For both genders the standardized prevalence of ISH, IDH, and SDH was higher in Yi migrants than Yi farmers. Overweight and obese Yi men and women had a higher risk for IDH and SDH （P〈O.002. than non-overweight/obese individuals. However, an association of overweight or obesity with ISH was observed only in men. Conclusion Yi migrants have substantially higher proportion of overweight and obese individuals, as well as individuals affected by ISH, IDH, and SDH, than do Yi farmers. Overweight and obesity are significant risk factors for the development of hypertension in Yi people.

Biomedical polymers have been extensively developed for promising applications in a lot of biomedical fields, such as therapeutic medicine delivery, disease detection and diagnosis, biosensing, regenerative medicine, and disease treatment. In this review, we summarize the most recent advances in the synthesis and application of biomedical polymers, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their property-function relationship for corresponding biomedical applications. In particular, a few burgeoning bioactive polymers, such as peptide/biomembrane/microorganism/cell-based biomedical polymers, are also introduced and highlighted as the emerging biomaterials for cancer precision therapy. Furthermore, the foreseeable challenges and outlook of the development of more efficient, healthier and safer biomedical polymers are discussed. We wish this systemic and comprehensive review on highlighting frontier progress of biomedical polymers could inspire and promote new breakthrough in fundamental research and clinical translation.

Dear Editor,In 2.05,the current commonly used rice reference genome(Oryza sativa *** ***)was initially released by the International Rice Genome Sequencing Project(International Rice Genome Sequencing Project,2.05).Thereafter,the reference genome was further updated in 2.13 with improved genome assembly(IRGSP-1.0)and gene annotations(MSU7,RAP-DB)(Kawahara et al.,2.13;Sakai et al.,2.13).In the past 10 years,this reference has been serving as one of the most important genetic resources for subsequent rice functional genomics *** several rice genomes had been assembled into gapless chromosomes with only 2.5 telomeres absent(Li et al.,2.2.;Song et al.,2.2.;zhang et al.,2.2.),the IRGSP1.0 and its annotations still performed as the most widely used ***,limitations of sequencing technology and intricate genomic organization led to an under-representation of complex regions in this reference,leaving a total of 72.major gaps(including 19 telomeres),167 minor gaps,and 779 unknown bases(Kawahara et al.,2.13),with an estimated length of3%of the genome unsolved.

The rumen is the hallmark organ of ruminants and hosts a diverse ecosystem of microorganisms that facilitates efficient digestion of plant *** analyzed 897 transcriptomes from three Cetartiodactyla lineages:ruminants,camels and cetaceans,as well as data from ruminant comparative genomics and functional assays to explore the genetic basis of rumen functional *** identified genes with relatively high expression in the rumen,of which many appeared to be recruited from other *** genes show functional enrichment in ketone body metabolism,regulation of microbial community,and epithelium absorption,which are the most prominent biological processes involved in rumen *** modes of genetic change underlying rumen functional innovations were uncovered,including coding mutations,genes newly evolved,and changes of regulatory *** validated that the key ketogenesis rate-limiting gene(HMGCS2.with five ruminant-specific mutations was under positive selection and exhibits higher synthesis activity than those of other *** newly evolved genes(LYZ1 and DEFB1)are resistant to Gram-positive bacteria and thereby may regulate microbial community ***,we confirmed that the changes of regulatory elements accounted for the majority of rumen gene *** results greatly improve our understanding of rumen evolution and organ evo-devo in general.

Land cover change along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Railway from 1981 to 2.01

Based on the NOAA AVHRR-NDVI monthly data from 1981 to 2.01, the spatial distribution and dynamic change of land cover along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Railway were studied. The results of the analytical data indicate that the NDVI values in July, August and September are rather high during a year, and a linear trend by calculating NDVI of each pixel computed based on the average values of NDVI in July, August and September were obtained. The results are as follows： 1） Land cover of the study area by NDVI displays high at two sides of the area and low in the center, and agriculture area 〉 alpine meadow 〉 alpine grassland 〉 desert grassland. 2. In the study area, the amount ofpixels with high increase, slight increase, no change, slight decrease and high decrease account for 0.2.%, 14.86%, 67.61%, 16.7% and 0.57% of the whole area, respectively. The increase of land cover pixels is mainly in the agriculture and alpine meadow and the decrease pixels mainly in the alpine grassland, desert grassland and hungriness. Grassland and hungriness contribute to the decrease mostly and artificial land and meadow contribute to the increase mostly. 3） In the area where human beings live, the changing trend is obvious, such as the valleys of Lhasa River and huangshui River and area along the Yellow River; in the high altitude area with fewer people living, the changing trend is relatively low, like the area of Hoh Xil. 4） Human being＇s behaviors are a key factor followed by the climate changes affecting land cover.
