In this paper the persistent currents of ideal toroidal single-wall carbon nanotubes (TSWNTs) are calculated from the tight-binding model and the periodic boundary conditions. The electronic structure and persistent current of a TSWNT strongly depend on its helicity and longitudinal circumference, making the TSWNTs a geometry-sensitive kind of materials. The interatomic carbonic interactions other than pp pi-type are also studied and are found to introduce more steps to the persistent current. The diamagnetic-paramagnetic transitions occur more frequently, and the persistent current depends on the interaction energy values, while the periodicity of magnetic flux preserves.

Wind-induced vibration energy harvesting has a great potential for utilizing wind energy to supply power for low-powered *** improve the working performance of energy harvesters effectively,a suitable structural design is *** paper proposes a dual-beam piezo-magneto-elastic wake-induced vibration energy harvesting system to enhance the functional performance of aeroelastic energy harvesters in environments with variable wind *** system contains two piezoelectric beams coupled by magnets(forming upstream and downstream energy harvesters),and each beam is attached with a foam cylinder.A corresponding dynamic model is provided,and output characteristics are obtained at different wind *** and experimental verification indicate that both upstream and downstream energy harvesters can realize efficient energy *** the wind speed exceeds a certain critical value,the amplitudes of the system’s displacement and voltage are *** wind speed threshold value is approximately 1.25 m/*** the wind speed and magnet spacing are 10.2 m/s and 20 mm,respectively,the output power of the system reaches 4.9×10^(−4)***,the wind speed threshold value of the proposed system can be adjusted by an equivalent nonlinear restoring force.

Identifying how leaf habit subdivisions link to the fast–slow and avoidance–tolerance trait tradeoffs can provide new insight into divergence in ecophysiological strategies among plant functional groups. Here, we tested a hypothesis that the differentiation across deciduous, semi-deciduous and evergreen woody species contributes to physiological trait tradeoffs in a dry-hot valley savanna. We investigated 11 photosynthetic, morphological and hydraulic traits of 24 species including 8 deciduous, 10 semi-deciduous and 6 evergreen species. Deciduous species were grouped in the fast and avoidance side associated with high values of maximum photosynthetic rates,stomatal conductance and leaf size, while evergreen species were grouped in the slow and tolerance side associated with high photosynthetic water use efficiency, leaf mass per area, sapwood density, Huber value, leaf water potential at turgor loss point and water potential causing 50% loss of stem hydraulic conductance. Semideciduous species generally had intermediate trait values and represented different physiological characteristics when compared to deciduous and evergreen species. The physiological trait tradeoffs showed a close linkage to the differentiation of these three leaf habits. Our findings clearly reveal trait tradeoffs related to fast–slow and avoidance–tolerance strategies among diverse savanna plants, suggesting a syndrome in multiple ecophysiology strategies across different leaf habits.

In this work,through the self-developed setup for in situ electrochemical tests,the corrosion behavior of 13 Cr stainless steel under the combined effect of stress and crevice in high pressure CO_(2)/O_(2)environment was *** results show that 13 Cr stainless steel presents a self-passivation *** the action of stress,the anodic dissolution process of steel inside crevice is *** is a galvanic effect between the stressed steel inside crevice and the unstressed steel outside *** applied stress reduces the induction stage of crevice corrosion and induces a larger galvanic current,i.e.,the applied stress promotes the development of crevice ***,adding 0.1 MPa O_(2)is conducive to forming a more stable passive film but causes a greater galvanic effect.

Exclusive responsiveness to ultraviolet light (~3.2 eV) and high photogenerated charge recombination rate are the two primary drawbacks of pure TiO_(2). We combined N-doped graphene quantum dots (N-gQDs), morphology regulation, and heterojunction construction strategies to synthesize N-gQD/N-doped TiO_(2)/P-doped porous hollow g-C_(3)N_(4) nanotube (PCN) composite photocatalysts (denoted as g-TPCN). The optimal sample (g-TPCN doped with 0.1wt% N-gQD, denoted as 0.1% g-TPCN) exhibits significantly enhanced photoabsorption, which is attributed to the change in bandgap caused by elemental doping (P and N), the improved light-harvesting resulting from the tube structure, and the upconversion effect of N-gQDs. In addition, the internal charge separation and transfer capability of0.1% g-TPCN are dramatically boosted, and its carrier concentration is 3.7, 2.3, and 1.9 times that of N-TiO_(2), PCN, and N-TiO_(2)/PCN(TPCN-1), respectively. This phenomenon is attributed to the formation of Z-scheme heterojunction between N-TiO_(2) and PCNs, the excellent electron conduction ability of N-gQDs, and the short transfer distance caused by the porous nanotube structure. Compared with those of N-TiO_(2), PCNs, and TPCN-1, the H2 production activity of 0.1%g-TPCN under visible light is enhanced by 12.4, 2.3, and 1.4times, respectively, and its ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation rate is increased by 7.9, 5.7, and 2.9 times, respectively. The optimized performance benefits from excellent photoresponsiveness and improved carrier separation and migration efficiencies. Finally, the photocatalytic mechanism of 0.1% g-TPCN and five possible degradation pathways of CIP are proposed. This study clarifies the mechanism of multiple modification strategies to synergistically improve the photocatalytic performance of 0.1% g-TPCN and provides a potential strategy for rationally designing novel photocatalysts for environmental remediation and solar energy conversion.

The fundamental concept of electron beam method and the application in cure of composites are elaborated in this paper. The components of electron beam curing system are introduced. The mechanisms of interaction between electron beam and polymer matrix composites are presented. Recent studies including work of authors themselves on electron beam curing of composites are also discussed. Moreover, the authors believe that it is necessary to do the basic research about understanding how electron beam affects cured network and the mechanical/physical properties of the composites for establishing a quantitative or semi-quantitative formulation.
