Controlling microbiological interfacial behaviors of hydrophobic organic compounds by surfactants in biodegradation process

Bioremediation of hydrophobic organic compounds （HOCs） contanlinated soils involves several physicochemical and microbiological interracial processes among the soil-water-microorganism interfaces. The participation of surfactants facilitates the mass transport of HOCs in both the physicochemical and microbiological interfaces by reducing the interfacial tension. The effects and underlying mechanisms of surfactants on the physi-cochemical desorption of soil-sorbed HOCs have been widely studied. This paper reviewed the progress made in understanding the effects of surfactant on microbiological interlhcial transport of HOCs and the underlying mechanisms, which is vital for a better understanding and control of the mass transfer of HOCs in the biodegradation process. In summary, surfactants affect the microbiological interfacial behaviors of HOCs during three consecutive processes： the soil solution-microorganism sorption, the transmembrane process, and the intracellular metabolism. Surfactant could promote cell sorption of HOCs depending on the compatibility of surfactant hydrophile hydrophilic balance （HLB） with cell surface properties; while the dose ratio between surfactant and biologic mass （membrane lipids） determined the transmembrane processes. Although surfactants cannot easily directly affect the intracellular enzymatic metabolism of HOCs due to the steric hindrace, the presence of surfactants can indirectly enhanced the metabolism by increasing the substrate concentrations.

On Reduced Lantern Relations in Mapping Class Groups

Let S be a hyperbolic Riemann surface with a finite area. Let G be the covering group of S acting on the hyperbolic plane H. In this paper, the author studies some algebraic relations in the mapping class group of S for S = S／{a point}. The author shows that the only possible relations between products of two Dehn twists and products of mapping classes determined by two parabolic elements of G are the reduced lantern relations. As a consequence, a partial solution to a problem posed by J. D. McCarthy is obtained.

Whittaker-Shintani functions for general linear groups over p-adic fields

In this paper, we recreate the Whittaker-Shintani functions for general linear groups over nonarchimedean fields given by Kato et al. Those generalized spherical functions naturally arise from global zeta integrals of automorphic L-functions. More explicitly, this formula plays a fundamental role in the local calculation over the split places of tensor product L-functions defined by Jiang and zhang(2014) and the twisted automorphic descents introduced by Jiang and zhang(2015).

The Clinical Significance of the Emergency Green Channel in the Treatment of Patients with Acute Chest Pain

Objective: To analyze the clinical significance of the emergency green channel in the treatment of patients with acute chest pain. Methods: Sixty patients with acute chest pain treated between September 2022 and July 2024 were selected as the subjects of this study. They were divided into groups based on the order of treatment: the first 30 patients were included in the Green Channel group, where the emergency green channel was employed, while the remaining 30 patients were placed in the Regular Emergency group, receiving standard emergency treatment. The rescue time, hospitalization time, pain scores, incidence of adverse reactions, and quality of life between the Green Channel group and the Regular Emergency group were compared. Results: The rescue time and hospitalization time of the Green Channel group were shorter than those of the Regular Emergency group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The pain scores at 30, 60, 120, and 240 minutes after rescue in the Green Channel group were lower than those in the Regular Emergency group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions such as recurrent acute attacks, arrhythmia, heart failure, stroke, and shock in the Green Channel group was lower than that in the Regular Emergency group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The treatment satisfaction rate and success rate in the Green Channel group were 93.33% and 93.33%, respectively, while those in the Regular Emergency group were 73.33% and 73.33%. Both the satisfaction and success rates in the Green Channel group were higher than those in the Regular Emergency group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The quality of life in the Green Channel group was also higher than that in the Regular Emergency group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The emergency green channel plays a significant role in the treatment of patients with acute chest pain and is worthy of widespread clinical application.

Ground-State and Thermal Entanglement in Three-Spin Heisenberg-XXZ Chain with Three-Spin Interaction

The entanglement properties of a three-spin X X Z Heisenberg chain with three-spin interaction are studied by means of concurrence of pairwise entanglement. We show that ground-state pairwise entanglement, pairwise thermal entanglement, or quantum phase transition is not present in antiferromagnetic spin chain. For the ferromagnetic case, quantum phase transition takes place at A = 1 for anisotropic interaction and at some values of three-spin coupling strength, and pairwise thermal entanglement increases when the value of J/T increases and with anisotropic interaction and three-spin interaction decrease. In addition, we find that increasing the anisotropic interaction and the three-spin interaction will decrease critical temperature.

Orexin is an important neuropeptide that influences livestock＇s appetite and food intake and is closely related with livestock＇s growth and *** variations in the orexin gene 5＇ regulatory region might have an influence on the gene *** on the hypothesis,five overlapped fragments including 1 794 bp of orexin gene 5＇ regulatory region were investigated for single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） by PCR-SSCP and DNA sequencing in three indigenous cattle populations.A total of five SSCP patterns observed revealed ten SNPs in the *** SSCP patterns genotypes （A and B） were exhibited in O-2 fragment and three （A,B and C） were found in O-5 fragment.O-2 contained four SNPs,viz.,-583 TC,-479 CT,-474 AT,and-451 *** another lous O-5,six SNPs were identified （-1 610 CG,-1 585 GA,-1 550 TC,-1 548 AC,-1 438 CT,and-1 431 CA）.Seven SNPs were found in transcription factor binding sites and four out of them existed in the core *** SNPs at-479,-474 and-451 did not change the putative recognition core sequences of their *** the mutation at-583 changed the binding sequence of EVI1 into NFA and created one new binding site for ZFHX *** three populations,the frequencies of A,B and C genotypes of O-2 were 0.2367,0.4842 and 0.2791,*** the A pattern of O-5 was preponderant （0.7549） and the other B pattern was not （0.2451）.But the frequencies of different SSCP variants varied across three cattle populations.B genotype in O-2 had significant associations to body weight （BW） and daily weight gain （DWG） in Nanyang cattle 6-and 12-mon aged and might serve as one potential candidate genetic marker for growth and development.

Remark on the Regularities of Kato's Solutions to Navier-Stokes Equations with Initial Data in L^d(R^d)

Motivated by the results of J. Y. Chemin in ＂J. Anal. Math., 77, 1999, 27- 50＂ and G. Furioli et al in ＂Revista Mat. Iberoamer., 16, 2002, 605-667＂, the author considers further regularities of the mild solutions to Navier-Stokes equation with initial data uo ∈ L^d（R^d）. In particular, it is proved that if u C ∈（[0, T^＊）; L^d（R^d）） is a mild solution of （NSv）, then u（t,x）- e^vt△uo ∈ L^∞（（0, T）;B2/4^1,∞）~∩L^1 （（0, T）; B2/4^3 ,∞） for any T 〈 T^＊.
