Enhanced photocatalytic performance by regulating the Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)ratio in cerium dioxide

Cerium dioxide(CeO_(2))photocatalysts are used in treating environmental pollution and addressing the energy crisis due to their excellent oxygen storage capacities and abundant oxygen *** this paper,CeO_(2)precursors were synthesized with different water-alcohol ratios via a solvothermal method,and CeO_(2)photocatalysts with different Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)ratios were obtained by changing the precursor calcination atmospheres(air,Ar)as well as the calcination *** effects of CeO_(2)with different Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)ratios in photocatalytic degradations of methylene blue under visible light were investigated.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the surfaces of the samples calcined under Ar had higher Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)ratios and oxygen vacancy concentrations,which reduced the band gaps of the catalysts and improved their utilization of visible *** addition,the many Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)redox centers and oxygen vacancies on the sample surfaces improved the separation and transfer efficiencies of the photogenerated *** sample C2-Ar calcined under Ar showed a high adsorption capacity and excellent photocatalytic activity by removing 96%of the methylene blue within 120 min,which was more than twice the degradation rate of the sample(C2-air)prepared via calcination under *** experiments showed that photogenerated holes played a key role in the photocatalytic *** addition,a synergistic photocatalytic mechanism for the Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)redox centers and oxygen vacancies was elucidated in detail,and the sensitization of cerium dioxide by dyes aided the degradation of methylene blue.

In the process of using the original key stratum theory to predict the height of a water-flowing fractured zone(WFZ),the influence of rock strata outside the calculation range on the rock strata within the calculation range as well as the fact that the shape of the overburden deformation area will change with the excavation length are *** this paper,an improved key stratum theory(IKS theory)was proposed by fixing these two ***,a WFZ height prediction method based on IKS theory was established and ***,the range of overburden involved in the analysis was determined according to the tensile stress distribution range above the ***,the key stratum in the overburden involved in the analysis was identified through IKS ***,the tendency of the WFZ to develop upward was determined by judging whether or not the identified key stratum will *** proposed method was applied and verified in a mining case study,and the reasons for the differences in the development patterns between the WFZs in coalfields in Northwest and East China were also fully explained by this method.

Electrochemical Formation of AI-li Alloys by Codeposition of AI and li from liCI-KCI-AIF3 Melts at 853 K

The electrochemical behavior of AI（III） ions was studied in molten liC1-KC1 melts on a molybdenum electrode. Cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and chronoamperometry were used to explore the deposition mechanism of A1 and li. Cyclic voltammetry expriment indicates that under potential deposition（UPD） of lithium on pre-deposited aluminium led to the formation of liquid A1-li alloys at 853 K. The diffusion coefficient of AI（III） ions at 853 K in liC1-KC1-AIF3（I%, mass fraction） melts was determined to be （2.79~0.05）x 10_5 cm2/s. Chronopotentio- grams and chronoamperograms demonstrate that the codeposition of AI（III） and li（I） ions formed A1-li alloys at ca- thodic current densities higher than -0.28 A/cm2 or cathodic potentials more negative than -2.20 V. X-Ray diffrac- tion（XRD） pattern indicates that A1-li alloys with different phases formed via galvanostatic electrolysis. Inductively coupled plasma（ICP） analyses of the samples obtained by electrolysis show that lithium and aluminium contents of A1-li alloys could be controlled by A1F3 concentration and current intensity.

The active layer of all polymer solar cells(all-PSCs)is composed of a blend of a p-type conjugated polymer(p-CP)as donor and an n-type conjugated polymer(n-CP)as ***-PSCs possess the advantages of light weight,thin active layer,mechanical flexibility,low cost solution processing and high stability,but the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of the all-PSCs was limited by the poor photovoltaic performance of the n-CP acceptors before *** the report of the strategy of polymerized small molecule acceptors(PSMAs)in 2017,the photovoltaic performance of the PSMA-based n-CPs improved rapidly,benefitted from the development of the A-DA’D-A type small molecule acceptors(SMAs).PCE of the all-PSCs based on the PSMA acceptors reached 17%-18%*** this review article,we will introduce the development history of the n-CPs,especially the recent research progress of the ***,the structure-property relationship of the PSMAs is introduced and ***,current challenges and prospects of the n-CP acceptors are analyzed and discussed.

A photometric study of the high-mass-ratio contact binary AV Puppis

The multi-color photometric light curves for contact binary AV Puppis(AV Pup) in VRcIc bandpasses are presented and analyzed by using the 2013 version of the Wilson-Devinney(W-D) *** solutions suggest that AV Pup is a peculiar A-subtype W UMa contact binary with a high mass ratio(q = m2/m1 = 0.896) and a low fill-out factor(f = 10%). Combining our newly determined times of minimum with those collected from literatures, the orbital period changes of this system are investigated. The O-C analysis indicates that the orbital period of AV Pup is increasing at a rate of d P/dt = 4.83 × 10-7 days yr-1, which can be explained by mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one.

Fracture Mechanism of the Formation with a Natural Flaw Under a Single-Tooth Cutting

The process of a single-tooth cutting formation is taken as the representative to analyze the fracture mechanism of the formation with natural flaws under the PDC drill *** modeling of the stress field distribution of the formation under a single tooth is proposed ***,the modeling of the stress intensity factor K,T-stress and the initiation angleθof the flaw under two far-field compressive loads in two cases are presented based on the mode-II ***,the results of theoretical calculations and simulations are given and *** on the analysis undertaken,it can be concluded that the confinement ratioλapplying on the flaw changes nonlinearly with the variation inα+φ.The relationship between the dimensionless ratioβx/βy of T-stress and the rotational polar angleφis a parabola with an upward *** the direction of the cutting force is consistent with the flaw,the stress intensity factor K and the initiation angleθat the tip of the flaw reach the *** addition,the angle between the cutting force and the flaw weakens the T-stress and inhibits the crack initiation and propagation of the *** results of numerical simulations show good agreement with theoretical calculations.

Effects of process parameters on the growth behavior and granule size distribution of iron ore mixtures in a novel high-shear granulator

This work proposes a novel horizontal high-shear granulator for iron ore granulation before sintering *** granulation behavior such as growth process and structure of granules were firstly analyzed,followed by the effects of operation conditions such as water content,initial particle size distribution,and the concentrate *** results show that the granule size increased significantly with increasing the granulation time,and the structure of granule can be divided into three types:non-nuclei,single-nuclei,and *** promotes the coalescence and growth of particles,and a better granulation performance was obtained at the water content of 8.8wt%under the current raw material *** the nuclei particle ratio led to an increase in average size of granules and permeability of the granules bed,but a decrease in growth ***,with increasing of concentrate ratio,granulation performance such as granule size,bed permeability,and uniformity became worse.
