Double-endpoint Genotoxicity Quantification and PAHs Characterization of Drinking Water Source alongside Polluted Yinghe River with High Tumor Mortality

The etiology for the high tumor mortality in heavy polluted Yinghe river basin is still unclear and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)belong to the priority pollutants in water based on the former surveillance *** order to explore the potential genotoxicants contributing to the double-endpoint genotoxicity of polluted drinking water source,12 groundwater and 3 surface water samples were collected from 3 villages and the nearby rivers alongside Yinghe river basin,respectively and their comprehensive genotoxicity was estimated with a bioassay group of sOS/umu test and micronucleus(MN)test(MNT).Some groundwater samples showed positive genotoxicity and all surface water samples were highly *** groundwater samples showed DNA genotoxic effct with the average 4-NQO equivalent concentration(TEQ_(4-NQO))of 0.067μg/L and 0.089μg/L in wet and dry season,*** average MN ratios of groundwater samples were 14.19‰ and 17.52‰ in wet and dry season,*** samples showed different genotoxic effect among 3 *** total PAHs concentrations in all water samples ranged from 8.98 to 25.17 ng/L with an average of 14.97±4.85 ng/***,CHR,BkF,BaP and DBA were the main carcinogenic PAHs contributing to the genotoxicity of water *** conclusion,carcinogenic PAHs are possibly related to the high tumor mortality in the target *** of carcinogenic PAHs to genotoxicity of drinking water source may shed light on the etiology study for high tumor mortality in Yinghe river *** words:genotoxicity test;drinking water source;high tumor mortality;Yinghe river basin;polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)

Mega-Constellations Based TT&C Resource Sharing: Keep Reliable Aeronautical Communication in an Emergency

With the development of the transportation industry, the effective guidance of aircraft in an emergency to prevent catastrophic accidents remains one of the top safety concerns. Undoubtedly, operational status data of the aircraft play an important role in the judgment and command of the Operational Control Center(OCC). However, how to transmit various operational status data from abnormal aircraft back to the OCC in an emergency is still an open problem. In this paper, we propose a novel Telemetry, Tracking,and Command(TT&C) architecture named Collaborative TT&C(CoTT&C) based on mega-constellation to solve such a problem. CoTT&C allows each satellite to help the abnormal aircraft by sharing TT&C resources when needed, realizing real-time and reliable aeronautical communication in an emergency. Specifically, we design a dynamic resource sharing mechanism for CoTT&C and model the mechanism as a single-leader-multi-follower Stackelberg game. Further, we give an unique Nash Equilibrium(NE) of the game as a closed form. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed resource sharing mechanism is effective, incentive compatible, fair, and reciprocal. We hope that our findings can shed some light for future research on aeronautical communications in an emergency.

Multi-Component Resource Recycling from Waste Light-Emitting Diode Under Hydrothermal Condition:Plastic Package Degradation,Speciation of Nano-TiO_(2),and Environmental Impact Assessment

Light emitting diodes(LEDs)have accounted for most of the lighting market as the technology matures and costs continue to *** a new type of e-waste,LED is a double-edged sword,as it contains not only precious and rare metals but also organic packaging *** previous studies,LED recycling focused on recovering precious and strategic metals while ignoring harmful substances such as organic packaging *** crushing and other traditional methods,hydrothermal treatment can provide an environment-friendly process for decomposing packaging *** work developed a closed reaction vessel,where the degradation rate of plastic polyphthalamide(PPA)was close to 100%,with nano-TiO_(2)encapsulated in plastic PPA being efficiently recovered,while metals contained in LED were also recycled ***,the role of water in plastic PPA degradation that has been overlooked in current studies was explored and speculated in detail in this *** impact assessment revealed that the proposed recycling route for waste LED could significantly reduce the overall environmental impact compared to the currently published *** the developed method could reduce more than half the impact of global ***,this research provides a theoretical basis and a promising method for recycling other plastic-packaged e-waste devices,such as integrated circuits.

Early prediction and prevention of infected pancreatic necrosis

Approximately 20%-30%of patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis develop infected pancreatic necrosis(IPN),a highly morbid and potentially lethal *** identification of patients at high risk of IPN may facilitate appropriate preventive measures to improve clinical *** the past two decades,several markers and predictive tools have been proposed and evaluated for this *** biomarkers like C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,lymphocyte count,interleukin-6,and interleukin-8,and newly developed biomarkers like angiopoietin-2 all showed significant association with *** the other hand,scoring systems like the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II and Pancreatitis Activity Scoring System have also been tested,and the results showed that they may provide better *** early prevention of IPN,several new therapies were tested,including early enteral nutrition,anti-biotics,probiotics,immune enhancement,etc.,but the results *** together,several evidence-supported predictive markers and scoring systems are readily available for predicting ***,effective treatments to reduce the incidence of IPN are still lacking apart from early enteral *** this editorial,we summarize evidence concerning early prediction and prevention of IPN,providing insights into future practice and study design.A more homo-geneous patient population with reliable risk-stratification tools may help find effective treatments to reduce the risk of IPN,thereby achieving individualized treatment.

Oligomeric donor with appropriate crystallinity for organic solar cells

Improving the performance of all-small-molecule organic solar cells(ASM-OSCs)largely depends on the design and application of novel donors with appropriate *** molecular conjugation is an effective method for regulating molecular stacking and *** this work,we successfully designed and synthesized two novel acceptor-donor-donor-donor-acceptor(A-D-D-D-A)type oligomeric donors with three dithieno[2,3-d:2′,3′-d′]benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene(DTBDT)as the central unit,named as 3DTBDT-Cl and 3DTBDT,depending on with and without chlorine substitution on the thiophene side *** found that the introduction of chlorine atoms makes the blend films display stronger crystallinity but with large-scale phase separation morphology and more defects,which eventually leads to a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of only 10.83%,whereas the blend films based 3DTBDT with appropriate crystallinity achieved 13.74%*** with 3DTBDT-Cl/L8-BO,the 3DTBDT/L8-BO films exhibited a nanoscale bi-continuous interpenetrating network morphology with a smaller domain size and more suitable crystallinity,which guarantees the corresponding devices obtained more efficient exciton dissociation,efficient charge transport,reduced bimolecular recombination,and performed more balanced carrier *** results demonstrated that regulating the crystallinity of oligomeric donors to obtain the desired phase separation morphology in the blend films could facilitate further improving the performance of ASM-OSCs.

The RNA m^(6)A demethylase ALKBH5 drives emergency granulopoiesis and neutrophil mobilization by upregulating G-CSFR expression

Emergency granulopoiesis and neutrophil mobilization that can be triggered by granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)through its receptor G-CSFR are essential for antibacterial innate ***,the epigenetic modifiers crucial for intrinsically regulating G-CSFR expression and the antibacterial response of neutrophils remain largely unclear.N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA modification and the related demethylase alkB homolog 5(ALKBH5)are key epigenetic regulators of immunity and inflammation,but their roles in neutrophil production and mobilization are still *** used cecal ligation and puncture(CLP)-induced polymicrobial sepsis to model systemic bacterial infection,and we report that ALKBH5 is required for emergency granulopoiesis and neutrophil ***5 depletion significantly impaired the production of immature neutrophils in the bone marrow of septic *** addition,Alkbh5-deficient septic mice exhibited higher retention of mature neutrophils in the bone marrow and defective neutrophil release into the circulation,which led to fewer neutrophils at the infection site than in their wild-type *** bacterial infection,ALKBH5 imprinted production-and mobilization-promoting transcriptome signatures in both mouse and human ***,ALKBH5 erased m^(6)A methylation on the CSF3R mRNA to increase the mRNA stability and protein expression of G-CSFR,consequently upregulating cell surface G-CSFR expression and downstream STAT3 signaling in *** RIP-qPCR results confirmed the direct binding of ALKBH5 to the CSF3R mRNA,and the binding strength declined upon bacterial infection,accounting for the decrease in G-CSFR expression on bacteria-infected *** these results collectively,we define a new role of ALKBH5 in intrinsically driving neutrophil production and mobilization through m^(6)A demethylation-dependent posttranscriptional regulation,indicating that m^(6)A RNA modification in neutrop

Synthesis of Anti-Pancreatic Cancer Natural Product Majusculamide D and Analogues Reveals a Preliminary Structure-Activity Relationships

The total synthesis of majusculamide D(1)was achieved from commercially available *** addition,we synthesized eight analogues including three stereoisomers of majusculamide D that differ in the fatty acid *** analogues including a simplified analogue 29 exhibited significant nanomolar-level IC50 values against Panc-1 cells in MTT assays.A preliminary SAR analysis indicated that the hydroxyl group at C10 and C2−C3 unsaturated double bond of majusculamide D were essential in maintaining the high activity against Panc-1 cells and the orientation of C40-Me and C42-Me groups was tolerable.
