Primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumor case with a preoperative course of 26 years: A case report and literature review

Primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumor(PHNET) is an extremely rare liver tumor. Patients often have no clinical symptoms or have only non-specific symptoms, such as abdominal pain and abdominal mass. The clinical manifestations, disease development, treatment methods, and treatment outcomes of PHNET vary greatly among cases. Here we report a case of PHNET with a confirmed 26-year survival before surgery. The patient was a 56-year-old female. A large right hepatic mass was detected when the patient was 30 years old. The tumor could not be removed during exploratory laparotomy, and constriction of the right hepatic artery and biopsy were conducted. Pathological results indicated a diagnosis of benign tumor, but a confirmed diagnosis was not reached. Twenty-six years after the patient had been living with the tumor, she sought treatment again because of tumor progression. After systematic evaluation of the resectability, the tumor was resected. Based on the examination results of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, intraoperative examination results, pathological findings, and long-term follow-up results, the diagnosis of PHNET was confirmed. This case represents the longest reported survival time for a PHNET patient before removal of the tumor.

The clinical data of 18 patients with PB from April 1989 to April 2013 was analyzed retrospectively,including 11 men and 7 women,aged 45 and 76 years old(mean 53 years).There were 12 eases of PB occurrlng in right lung and other cases in left lung,AraBng them,3 patients had no symptoms,and 15 patients displayed symptoms of cough,chest pain,asthenia or minor ***,11 patients had a preoperative diagnosis of lung cancer,7 patients were preoperatively diagnosed as the other disease,which included lung benign tumor(n=5)and mediastinal mass(n=2).All patients received a radical *** patients received postoperative cisplalinbascd chemothcrapy,and two paticnts received postoperative irradiation with the dose of 55 ***.14 eases of 18 patients had biphasie pulmonary blastema and four cases had well differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma.A total of 12 patients died in a period of 6-36 months after operation,and 1 ease was lost after 2 years of follow *** median survival time was 19 months,PB is a rare primary lung malignant embryonal *** its assumed embyonal origin,the tumor has a predileetion for adults.A preoperative correct diagnosis is very difficult in spite of modern diagnostic imaging and biopsy techniques,Surgical resection is the main method for diagnosis and *** chemotherapy or irradiation can help eliminate tumor *** prognosis is very poor,especially for the biphasie type.

Insect herbivory is ubiquitous in various ecosystems, and directly influences the growth and survival of individual plants, especially during their vulnerable early life stages like the seedling phase. This, in turn, exerts a significant influence on forest community diversity and structure, as well as ecosystem function and stability. Notable variation in herbivory has been detected both among and within plant species. For decades, many hypotheses have been proposed to explain such variations, including both biotic and abiotic variables. However, most studies have considered only one or several of these hypotheses by focusing on a few potential variables, and their results were usually inconsistent;thus, the factors driving herbivory remain unclear. In this study, we examined leaf herbivory by insects of woody species seedlings in a subtropical forest in southwestern China over two seasons. In total, 24 potential variables that represented abiotic resource availability, characters of individual seedlings, conspecific and heterospecific species, and the whole seedling community were selected to test several commonly discussed alternative herbivory hypotheses. Overall, our findings showed that the plant apparency hypothesis was more supported than the other hypotheses in explaining insect seedling herbivory. Our results further indicated that the mechanisms and causes of insect herbivory are complex, multifactorial, species-specific and vary with seasons, indicating that there may be no uniform rules in explaining herbivory for all seedlings. Consequently, such complexity may play an important role in promoting species coexistence and biodiversity maintenance in seedling communities, which may further translate into the following generation of saplings or even adult communities. As battery deployments in electric vehicles and energy storage systems grow, ensuring homogeneous performance across units is crucial. We propose a multi-derivative imaging fusion(MDIF) model, employing advanced imaging and machine learning to predict battery aging trajectories from minimal initial data, thus facilitating effective performance grouping before deployment. Utilizing a derivative strategy and Gramian Angular Difference Field for dimensional enhancement, the MDIF model uncovers subtle predictive features from discharge curve data after only ten cycles. The architecture includes a parallel convolutional neural network with lateral connections to enhance feature integration and *** on a self-developed dataset, the model achieves an average root-mean-square error of 0.047 Ah and an average mean absolute percentage error of 1.60%, demonstrating high precision and *** robustness is further validated through transfer learning on two publicly available datasets, adapting with minimal retraining. This approach significantly reduces the testing cycles required, lowering both time and costs associated with battery testing. By enabling precise battery behavior predictions with limited data, the MDIF model optimizes battery utilization and deployment strategies, enhancing system efficiency and sustainability.

To elucidate the yielding performance of compact yielding anchor cables in working state,a yielding mechanical model incorporating extrusion friction and fastening rotation under confining pressure is *** yielding resistance enhancement effect(ω)caused by working environment constraints is evaluated through multi-layer composite sleeve hole expansion analysis,forming a theoretical framework for calculating the working yielding *** and in-situ pull-out tests are conducted to determine the yielding performance and validate the analytical *** main conclusions are:(1)Yielding force and energy-release capacity increase withω,significantly outperforming the unconfined state.(2)In-situ tests under varying rockmass and geostress conditions(F1–F3)determine the yielding force increases to 183.4–290.1,204.0–290.8,and 235.0–327.1 kN.(3)The slight deviation(–12.5%to 6.2%)between the theoretical and measured yielding force confirms that the analytical theory effectively describes the working yielding performance.(4)ωincreases with higher geostress and improved rock mechanical properties,with initial geostress(σ_(0))and elastic modulus of surrounding rock(E_(3))identified as critical parameters.
