MM-3 was a live vaccine strain candidate for protecting neonatal piglets from *** in the 1980s,a high degree of protection from colibacillosis was afforded to piglets in a challengestudy and field *** MM-3 had a drawback of carrying the antibiotic resistance gene (chloramphenicolacetyltransferase gene,cat).The introduction of a host-plasmid balanced lethal system into the vaccine wasa good idea to solve the *** λ-Red recombination system was adopted in this study to realize thereplacement of cat by aspartate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase gene (asd) in the plasmid *** newplasmid named pMMASD was introduced into an Escherichia coli strain χ6097 and Salmonella typhimuriumχ4072 where the asd gene had been knocked out in their *** in an Erlenmeyer flask,expression levels of two antigens K88ac fimbriae and heat-labile enterotoxin B subunit (LTB) in cell lysatewere similar among MM-3,χ4072(pMMASD) and χ6097(pMMASD).However,χ4072(pMMASD) possessedthe more effective secretion mechanism to transport LTB enterotoxin into culture *** relatively higherstability of pMMASD in Salmonella typhimurium χ4072 than that of pMM085 in MM-3 was determined bothin vitro in the absence of selective pressure,and in vivo following oral *** immunization ofBALB/c mice with χ4072(pMMASD) or χ6097(pMMASD) was sufficient to elicit IgA responses in mucosaltissues as well as systemic IgG antibody responses to the K88 fimbriae,while MM-3 failed to elicit specificantibody responses to K88 fimbriae in mucosal *** three live strains,only χ4072(pMMASD)could develop strong humoral responses against LTB *** results suggest that χ4072(pMMASD)is expected to be a promising live vaccine strain.

Storage time affects the level and diagnostic efficacy of plasma biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases

Several promising plasma biomarker proteins,such as amyloid-β(Aβ),tau,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein,are widely used for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative ***,little is known about the long-term stability of these biomarker proteins in plasma samples stored at-80°*** aimed to explore how storage time would affect the diagnostic accuracy of these biomarkers using a large *** samples from 229 cognitively unimpaired individuals,encompassing healthy controls and those experiencing subjective cognitive decline,as well as 99 patients with cognitive impairment,comprising those with mild cognitive impairment and dementia,were acquired from the Sino Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Decline *** samples were stored at-80°C for up to 6 years before being used in this *** results showed that plasma levels of Aβ42,Aβ40,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein were not significantly correlated with sample storage ***,the level of total tau showed a negative correlation with sample storage ***,in individuals without cognitive impairment,plasma levels of total protein and tau phosphorylated protein threonine 181(p-tau181)also showed a negative correlation with sample storage *** was not observed in individuals with cognitive ***,we speculate that the diagnostic accuracy of plasma p-tau181 and the p-tau181 to total tau ratio may be influenced by sample storage ***,caution is advised when using these plasma biomarkers for the identification of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Alzheimer's ***,in cohort studies,it is important to consider the impact of storage time on the overall results.

Leader-follower: Human-centered intention-guided controller for novel SuperLimb with application to load-carrying scenarios

Supernumerary robotic arms(SuperLimb) are a new type of wearable robot that works closely with humans as a third hand to augment human operation capability. Accurate conveyance of wearers' intentions, allocation of roles, and humancentered interaction considerations are the key points in the process of human–SuperLimb collaboration. This paper proposes a human-centered intention-guided leader–follower controller that relies on the dynamic modeling of SuperLimb with application to load-carrying scenarios. The proposed leader–follower controller takes the human as the leader and the SuperLimb as the follower, achieving effective information communication, autonomous coordination, and good force compliance between SuperLimb, humans, and the environment under human safety assurance. First, the human–SuperLimb dynamic system is modeled to achieve force interaction with the environment and wearer. Second, to achieve the precise intention extraction of humans, pose data from five visual odometry sensors are fused to capture the human state, the generalized position, the velocity of hands, and the surface electromyography signals from two myoelectric bracelets sensors are processed to recognize the natural hand gestures during load-carrying scenarios by a designed Swin transformer network. Then, based on the real-time distance detection between human and mechanical limbs, the security assurance and force-compliant interaction of the human–SuperLimb system are realized. Finally, the human hand muscle intention recognition, human–robot safety strategy verification,and comparative load-carrying experiments with and without the proposed method are conducted on the SuperLimb *** showed that the task parameters are well estimated to produce more reasonable planning trajectories, and SuperLimb could well understand the wearer's intentions to switch different SuperLimb actions. SUMMARY Objective:To evaluate the mass measles vaccination campaign of 2009 in Guangdong ***. Methods:Data on the campaign implementation,measles surveillance,and serological surveillance were reviewed and analyzed by statistical methods. Results:Rapid coverage surveys showed that 98.09% of children were vaccinated during the campaign. The coverage of migrant children increased significantly from 67.10%to 97.32%(p<0.01).From May to December *** the campaign,the number of measles cases was reduced by 93.04%compared with the same period of *** antibody positive rate in children aged less than 15 years reached above 95%.More than 1 million migrant children were identified and vaccinated during the ***, notices of information from donors,and television programs were the best methods to inform parents ot the *** of the campaign by residents increased significantly from 91.86%to 97.10% (P<0.01) through the use of social mobilization materials. Conclusions:A massive vaccination campaign approach for controlling measles in a developing region like Guangdong Province wirh a vast migrant imputation has proved *** mobilization,communication with the mass media,and support from government departments were critical to the success of the campaign.

A REF6-dependent H3K27me3-depleted state facilitates gene activation during germination in Arabidopsis

Corrosion Resistance and Antifouling Bioinspired Coating with Doped Polyaniline and TO@CA Self-Healing Nanocapsules

In this study,an integrative bioinspired coating system for antifouling and corrosion resistance was investigated,in which self-healing nanocapsules(tung oil calcium alginate,TO@CA),doped polyaniline and nano-titanium dioxide nanocomposites(SPAn–TiO_(2))and a biostructure metal surface were *** antifouling property of the bioinspired coating resulted from the synergistic antifouling effect of nano-TiO_(2)and acid-doped polyaniline in SPAn–TiO_(2).The protonated nitrogen with a positive charge in SPAn–TiO_(2)and the intrinsic bactericidal property of nano-TiO_(2)could damage negatively charged single-celled chlorella,endowing the composite coating with good antifouling performance(less algae attached on the surfaces after a 90-day antifouling test and a conductivity test).The composite bioinspired coating had excellent corrosion resistance,which was due to the good synergistic anticorrosion barrier effect of SPAn–TiO_(2)with TO@CA nanocapsules and the repairing ability of microcracks of TO@CA nanocapsules during the corrosion *** bioinspired coating with 2 wt%SPAn–TiO_(2)and 2 wt%TO@CA nanocapsules exhibited a better adhesion,corrosion resistance and antifouling performance than the other coatings did.

Intent defined optical network with artificial intelligence-based automated operation and maintenance

Traditionally, the operation and maintenance of optical networks rely on the experience of engineers to configure network parameters, involving command-line interface, middle-ware scripting, and troubleshooting. However, with the emerging of newly B5 G applications, the traditional configuration cannot meet the requirement of real-time automatic configuration. Operators need a new configuration way without manual intervention at an underlying optical transport network. To cope with this issue, we propose an intent defined optical network(IDON) architecture toward artificial intelligence-based optical network automated operation and maintenance against service objective, by introducing a self-adapted generation and optimization(SAGO) policy in a customized manner. The IDON platform has three key innovations including intent-orient configuration translation, self-adapted generation and optimization policy, and close-loop intent guarantee operation. Focusing specifically on communication requirements, the IDON uses natural language processing to construct semantic graphs to understand, interact, and create the required network configuration. Then, deep reinforcement learning(DRL) is utilized to find the composition policy that satisfies the requirement of intent through the dynamic integration of fine-grained policies. Finally, the deep neural evolutionary network(DNEN) is introduced to achieve the intent guarantee at the milliseconds level. The feasibility and efficiency are verified on enhanced SDN testbed. Finally, we discuss several related challenges and opportunities for unveiling a promising upcoming future of intent defined optical network.

Efficient and stable photocathodes with versatility are of significance in photoassisted lithium-ion batteries (PLIBs), while there is always a request on fast carrier transport in electrochemical active photocathodes. Present work proposes a general approach of creating bulk heterojunction to boost the carrier mobility of photocathodes by simply laser assisted embedding of plasmonic nanocrystals. When employed in PLIBs, it was found effective for synchronously enhanced photocharge separation and transport in light charging process. Additionally, experimental photon spectroscopy, finite difference time domain method simulation and theoretical analyses demonstrate that the improved carrier dynamics are driven by the plasmonic-induced hot electron injection from metal to TiO2, as well as the enhanced conductivity in TiO2 matrix due to the formation of oxygen vacancies after Schottky contact. Benefiting from these merits, several benchmark values in performance of TiO2-based photocathode applied in PLIBs are set, including the capacity of 276 mAh g(-1 ) at 0.2 A g(-1 )under illumination, photoconversion efficiency of 1.276% at 3 A g(-1 ), less capacity and Columbic efficiency loss even through 200 cycles. These results exemplify the potential of the bulk heterojunction strategy in developing highly efficient and stable photoassisted energy storage systems.
