Understanding th. pore water pressure distribution in unsaturated soil is crucial in predicting sh.llow landslides trig.ered by rainfall,mainly wh.n dealing with.different temporal patterns of rainfall ***,th. h.drolog.cal response of veg.tated slopes,especially th.ee-dimensional(3D)slopes covered with.sh.ubs,under different rainfall patterns remains unclear and requires furth.r *** address th.s issue,th.s study adopts a novel 3D numerical model for simulating h.draulic interactions between th. root system of th. sh.ub and th. surrounding *** series of numerical parametric studies are conducted to investig.te th. influences of slope inclination,rainfall pattern and rainfall *** rainfall patterns(advanced,bimodal,delayed,and uniform)and two rainfall durations(4-h.intense and 168-h.mild rainfall)are considered to study th. h.drolog.cal response of th. *** computed results sh.w th.t 17%h.g.er transpiration-induced suction is found for a steeper slope,wh.ch.remains even after a sh.rt,intense rainfall with.a 100-year return *** extreme rainfalls with.advanced(PA),bimodal(PB)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns need to be considered for th. sh.rt rainfall duration(4 h.,wh.le th. delayed(PD)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns are h.g.ly recommended for long rainfall durations(168 h..Th. presence of plants can improve slope stability markedly under extreme rainfall with.a sh.rt duration(4 h..For th. long duration(168 h.,th. benefit of th. plant in preserving pore-water pressure(PWP)and slope stability may not be sufficient.

Rech.rg.able mag.esium metal batteries need an electrolyte th.t forms a stable and ionically conductive solid electrolyte interph.se(SEI)on th. ***,we used molecular dynamic simulation,density functional th.ory calculation,and X-ray ph.toelectron spectroscopy analysis to investig.te th. solvation structures and SEI compositions in electrolytes consisting of dual-salts,mag.esium bis(trifluorometh.nesulfonyl)imide(Mg.FSI_(2)),and Mg.l_(2),with.different additives in 1,2-dimeth.xyeth.ne(DME)*** found th.t th. formed[Mg.(3)(μ-Cl)_(4)(DME)mTFSI_(2)](m=3,5)inner-sh.ll solvation clusters in Mg.FSI_(2)-Mg.l_(2)/DME electrolyte could easily decompose and form a Mg.-and Mg._(2)-rich.*** electron-rich.inorg.nic species in th. SEI,especially Mg._(2),turned out to be detrimental for Mg.plating/*** reduce th. Mg._(2)and Mg. contents in SEI,we introduce an electron-deficient tri(2,2,2-trifluoroeth.l)borate(TFEB)additive in th. ***//Mg.cells using th. Mg.FSI_(2)-Mg.l_(2)/DME-TFEB electrolyte could cycle stably for over 400 h.with.a small polarization voltag. of~150 *** with.th. presence of 800 ppm h.(2)O,th. electrolyte with.TFEB additive could still preserve its g.od electroch.mical *** optimized electrolyte also enabled stable cycling and h.g.-rate capability for Mg./Mo6S8 and Mg./CuS full cells,sh.wing g.eat potential for future applications.

TE energ. conversion efficiency of Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)is furth.r enh.nced by optimizing its electronic band structure th.oug. th. incorporation of small amounts of *** an optimal Te content of 5 mol%,more th.n a twofold increase in th. TE fig.re of merit(zT)is *** g.in insig.t into th. mech.nism of improvement on th. transport properties of th. mate-rial,we compare th. interph.se transport mech.nism by incorporating nanodomains of different metals(Ag.and Cu)into th. Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** improved electrical conductivity obtained with.Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te nanocomposites is attributed to a ch.rg. flooding of th. Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** contrast,excessive down-ward band-bending at th. interph.ses of Ag.Cu metal-semiconductor drastically reduces th. electrical ***,a weig.ted mobility(μw)analysis sh.ws a dominant th.rmal activation of carri-ers in Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te *** th.s material,a strong decrease in lattice th.rmal conductivity is also found,wh.ch.is associated with.a ph.non-carrier scattering *** work sh.ws th. impor-tance of proper band-engineering in TE nanocomposites to decouple electrical and th.rmal transport to enh.nce TE performance,and th. efficacy ofμw for electrical and th.rmal transport analysis.
