The pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infection in early December 2019,which was later named coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)by the World Health Organization(WHO),rapidly spread across the world.China has made extraordinary efforts to this unprecedented pandemic,put its response and control at a very high level of infectious disease management(Category B but with measures for Category A),given top priority to the people and their lives,and balanced the pandemic control and socio-economic development.After more than three years’fighting against this disease,China downgraded the management of COVID-19 to Category B infectious disease on January 8,2023 and the WHO declared the end of public health emergency on May 5,2023.However,the ending of pandemic does not mean that the disease is no longer a health threat.Experiences against COVID-19 from China and the whole world should be learned to prepare well for the future public health emergencies.This article gives a systematic review of the trajectory of COVID-19 development in China,summarizes the critical policy arrangements and provides evidence for the adjustment during policy making process,so as to share experiences with international community and contribute to the global health for all humanity.

Supersonic expansion and condensation characteristics of hydrogen gas under different temperature conditions

This paper introduced supersonic expansion liquefaction technology into the field of hydrogen liquefaction.The mathematical model for supersonic condensation of hydrogen gas in a Laval nozzle model was established.The supersonic expansion and condensation characteristics of hydrogen gas under different temperature conditions were investigated.The simulation results show that the droplet number rises rapidly from 0 at the nozzle throat as the inlet temperature increases,and the maximum droplet number generated is 1.339×10^(18)kg^(-1)at inlet temperature of 36.0 K.When hydrogen nucleation occurs,the droplet radius increases significantly and shows a positive correlation with the increase in the inlet temperature,and the maximum droplet radii are 6.667×10^(-8)m,1.043×10^(-7)m,and 1.099×10^(-7)m when the inlet temperature is 36.0 K,36.5 K,and 37.0 K,respectively.The maximum nucleation rate decreases with increasing inlet temperature,and the nucleation region of the Laval nozzle becomes wider.The liquefaction efficiency can be effectively improved by lowering the inlet temperature.This is because a lower inlet temperature provides more subcooling,which allows the hydrogen to reach the thermodynamic conditions required for large-scale condensation more quickly.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, a plethora of modeling studies relatedto COVID-19 have been released. While some models stand out due to their innovative approaches, others are flawed in their methodology. To assist novices, frontline healthcare workers, and public health policymakers in navigating the complex landscape of these models, we introduced a structured framework named MODELS. This framework is designed to detail the essential steps and considerations for creating a dependable epidemic model, offering direction to researchers engaged in epidemic modeling endeavors.

As the demand for high-quality services proliferates,an innovative network architecture,the fully-decoupled RAN(FD-RAN),has emerged for more flexible spectrum resource utilization and lower network costs.However,with the decoupling of uplink base stations and downlink base stations in FDRAN,the traditional transmission mechanism,which relies on real-time channel feedback,is not suitable as the receiver is not able to feedback accurate and timely channel state information to the transmitter.This paper proposes a novel transmission scheme without relying on physical layer channel feedback.Specifically,we design a radio map based complex-valued precoding network(RMCPNet)model,which outputs the base station precoding based on user *** comprises multiple subnets,with each subnet responsible for extracting unique modal features from diverse input modalities.Furthermore,the multimodal embeddings derived from these distinct subnets are integrated within the information fusion layer,culminating in a unified representation.We also develop a specific RMCPNet training algorithm that employs the negative spectral efficiency as the loss function.We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme on the public DeepMIMO dataset and show that RMCPNet can achieve 16%and 76%performance improvements over the conventional real-valued neural network and statistical codebook approach,respectively.

During the construction of an offshore wind farm(OWF),the capital cost of the collector cable system accounts for a large proportion of the total cost.Consequently,the optimal design of the collector system topology(CST)is one of the most crucial tasks in OWF planning.However,for a large-scale OWF,the optimal design of CST is a complex integer programming problem with high-dimension variables and various constraints.Therefore,it is difficult to acquire a high-quality optimal design scheme.To address this issue,this paper proposes a new grouping-based optimal design of CST for a large-scale OWF.First,all the wind turbines are divided into multiple groups according to their geographical locations and the maximum allowed connected wind turbines by each cable.This not only reduces the optimization dimension and difficulty,but also effectively satisfies the‘no cross’constraint by putting the geographically closed wind turbines into the same group.Secondly,the electrical topology among different wind turbines in each group is initially generated by an improved dynamic minimum spanning tree(DMST).The division groups of the OWF are then adjusted to further reduce the capital cost by improved simulated annealing.To verify the proposed technique,comparison case studies are carried out with five algorithms on two different OWF.

Evaluation of Surface Roughness of Aluminum Alloy in Burnishing Process Based on Chaos Theory

Burnishing experiments with different burnishing parameters were performed on a computer numerical control milling machine to characterize the surface roughness of an aluminum alloy during burnishing.The chaos theory was employed to investigate the nonlinear features of the burnishing system.The experimental results show that the power spectrum is broadband and continuous,and the Lyapunov exponentλis positive,proving that burnishing has chaotic characteristics.The chaotic characteristic parameter,the correlation dimension D,is sensitive to the time behavior of the system and is used to establish the corresponding relationship with the surface roughness.The correlation dimension was the largest,when the surface roughness was the smallest.Furthermore,when the correlation dimension curve decreases,the roughness curve increases.The correlation dimension and surface roughness exhibit opposite variation trends.The higher the correlation dimension,the lower the surface roughness.The surface roughness of the aluminum alloy can be characterized online by calculating the correlation dimension during burnishing.

Serving as targeting ligands,aptamers have shown promise in precision medicine.However,the lack of knowledge of the biosafety and metabolism patterns in the human body largely impeded aptamers’clinical translation.To bridge this gap,here we report the first-in-human pharmacokinetics study of protein tyrosine kinase 7 targeted SGC8 aptamer via in vivo PET tracking of gallium-68(^(68)Ga)radiolabeled aptamers.The specificity and binding affinity of a radiolabeled aptamer,named ^(68)Ga[Ga]-NOTA-SGC8,were maintained as proven in vitro.Further preclinical biosafety and biodistribution evaluation confirmed that aptamers have no biotoxicity,potential mutation risks,or genotoxicity at high dosage(40 mg/kg).Based on this result,a first-in-human clinical trial was approved and carried out to evaluate the circulation and metabolism profiles,as well as biosafety,of the radiolabeled SGC8 aptamer in the human body.Taking advantage of the cutting-edge total-body PET,the aptamers’distribution pattern in the human body was acquired in a dynamic fashion.

Analysis of the effect of PCR testing and antigen testing on controlling the transmission for Omicron based on different scenarios

After the policy adjustment,China no longer carries out COVID-19 PCR testing for all people,and antigen testing has become the main way to detect and manage infectious sources.We developed a dynamic model to evaluate and compare the effects between PCR and antigen testing for controlling the pandemic.Due to the increase of contact degree,the peak reduction effect of PCR testing in population is lower than that of antigen testing.Even if it was only 20%of people isolated at home after antigen testing,the peak of the epidemic could be reduced by 9.46%.If the proportion of antigen testing is further increased to 80%,the peak of the pandemic can be reduced by 31.41%.Antigen testing performed better effects in school(reduction proportion 29.27%)and community(29.34%)than in workplace(27.75%).Therefore,we recommend that antigen testing in the popu-lation should be encouraged during the pandemic,and home isolation of infected persons should be advocated,especially in crowded places.To improve the availability of antigen,the testing proportion should be further enhanced.

Objectives:Computing the basic reproduction number(R0)in deterministic dynamical models is a hot topic and is frequently demanded by researchers in public health.The nextgeneration methods(NGM)are widely used for such computation,however,the results of NGM are usually not to be the true R0 but only a threshold quantity with little interpretation.In this paper,a definition-based method(DBM)is proposed to solve such a problem.Methods:Start with the definition of R0,consider different states that one infected individual may develop into,and take expectations.A comparison with NGM has proceeded.Numerical verification is performed using parameters fitted by data of COVID-19 in Hunan Province.Results:DBM and NGM give identical expressions for single-host models with single-group and interactive Rij of single-host models with multi-groups,while difference arises for models partitioned into subgroups.Numerical verification showed the consistencies and differences between DBM and NGM,which supports the conclusion that R0 derived by DBM with true epidemiological interpretations are better.Conclusions:DBM is more suitable for single-host models,especially for models partitioned into subgroups.However,for multi-host dynamic models where the true R0 is failed to define,we may turn to the NGM for the threshold R0.
