Algebraic form and analysis of SIR epidemic dynamics over probabilistic dynamic networks

The outbreak of corona virus disease 2019 has profoundly affected people’s way of life.It is increasingly necessary to investigate epidemics over social networks.This paper studies susceptible-infected-removed(SIR)epidemics via the semi-tensor product.First,a formal susceptible-infected-removed epidemic dynamic model over probabilistic dynamic networks(SIRED-PDN)is given.Based on an evolutionary rule,the algebraic form for the dynamics of individual states and network topologies is given,respectively.Second,the SIRED-PDN can be described by a probabilistic mix-valued logical network.After providing an algorithm,all possible final spreading equilibria can be obtained for any given initial epidemic state and network topology by seeking attractors of the network.And the shortest time for all possible initial epidemic state and network topology profiles to evolve to the final spreading equilibria can be obtained by seeking the transient time of the network.Finally,an illustrative example is given to show the effectiveness of our model.

The high-purity distillation column system is strongly nonlinear and coupled,which makes it difficult to control.Active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)has been widely used in distillation systems,but it has limitations in controlling distillation systems with large time delays since ADRC employs ESO and feedback control law to estimate the total disturbance of the system without considering the large time delays.This paper designs a proportion integral-type active disturbance rejection generalized predictive control(PI-ADRGPC)algorithm to control the distillation column system with large time delay.It replaces the PD controller in ADRC with a proportion integral-type generalized predictive control(PI-GPC),thereby improving the performance of control systems with large time delays.Since the proposed controller has many parameters and is difficult to tune,this paper proposes to use the grey wolf optimization(GWO)to tune these parameters,whose structure can also be used by other intelligent optimization algorithms.The performance of GWO tuned PI-ADRGPC is compared with the control performance of GWO tuned ADRC method,multi-verse optimizer(MVO)tuned PI-ADRGPC and MVO tuned ADRC.The simulation results show that the proposed strategy can track reference well and has a good disturbance rejection performance.

This paper studies the sampled data based containment control problem of second-order multi-agent systems with intermittent communications,where velocity measurements for each agent are unavailable.A novel controller for second-order containment is put forward via intermittent sampled position data measurement.Several necessary and sufficient conditions are derived to achieve intermittent sampled containment control by means of analyzing the relationship among control gains,eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix,the sampling period,and the communication width.Finally,several simulation examples are used to testify the correctness and effectiveness of the theoretical results.

In this paper, a general resource distribution game with a hierarchical structure on the bipartite graph is proposed. In this system, the game is divided into two interacting levels, the agent level and the group level, with negotiations taking place on both levels. Each agent can belong to multiple groups,resulting in a system topology with a bipartite structure. On the agent level, decisions are based on the greedy principle, with the game being a state-based potential game. In contrast, some participants on the group level behave more "smartly" and are more likely to adopt a sophisticated strategy maximizing their personal interest. Strategies on both levels are based on distributed protocols, and the social welfare increases as the system approaches a Nash-equilibrium point. The designed protocols are theoretically analyzed from stability and efficiency. Furthermore, a reinforcement learning algorithm is introduced in the group level, where the smarter players are allowed to refine their strategies in the multi-step decision-making process by learning from historic game outcomes. In theory and according to simulations, agents with the learning behavior improve not only their personal interest but also the efficiency of the systemic resource distribution.

Algebraic state space approach to model and control combined automata

A new modeling tool, algebraic state space approach to logical dynamic systems, which is developed recently based on the theory of semi-tensor product of matrices （STP）, is applied to the automata field. Using the STE this paper investigates the modeling and controlling problems of combined automata constructed in the ways of parallel, serial and feedback. By representing the states, input and output symbols in vector forms, the transition and output functions are expressed as algebraic equations of the states and inputs. Based on such algebraic descriptions, the control problems of combined automata, including output control and state control, are considered, and two necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for the controllability, by which two algorithms are established to find out all the control strings that make a combined automaton go to a target state or produce a desired output. The results are quite different from existing methods and provide a new angle and means to understand and analyze the dynamics of combined automata.
