Microbial biofilm-related infections present a significant global health challenge,posing a major threat to public health systems[1].Biofilms,complex structures formed by the aggregation of microorganisms,are commonly found on medical devices,human tissue surfaces,and in natural environments[2].These biofilms exhibit high levels of antibiotic resistance and survival stability,rendering traditional antibiotic treatments ineffective in eradicating infections[3].

The electrochemical water splitting to produce hydrogen converts electric energy into clean hydrogen energy,which is a groundbreaking concept of energy *** achieve high efficiency,numerous strategies have been developed to enhance the performance of *** these,interface engineering with molecules/ions/groups,serves as a versatile approach for optimizing the performance of electrocatalysts in water *** the basis of numerous achievements in high-performance electrocatalysts engineered through molecules/ions/groups at interface,a comprehensive understanding of these advancements is crucial for guiding future ***,after providing a concise overview of the background,the interface engineering via molecules/ions/groups for electrocatalytic water splitting is demonstrated from three ***,the engineering of electronic state of electrocatalysts by molecules/ions/groups at interface to reduce the Gibbs free energy of the corresponding ***,the modification of local microenvironment surrounding electrocatalysts via molecules/ions/groups at interface to enhance the transfer of reactants and ***,the protection of electrocatalysts with molecule/ion/group fences improves their durability,including protecting active sites from leaching and defending them against harmful *** fundamental principles of these three aspects are outlined for each,along with pertinent ***,several research directions and challenges are proposed.

A catadioptric lens structure,also known as pancake lens,has been widely used in virtual reality(VR)displays to reduce the ***,the utilization of a half mirror(HM)to fold the optical path thrice leads to a significant optical *** theoretical maximum optical efficiency is merely 25%.To transcend this optical efficiency constraint while retaining the foldable characteristic inherent to traditional pancake optics,in this paper,we propose a theoretically lossless folded optical system to replace the HM with a nonreciprocal polarization *** our feasibility demonstration experiment,we used a commercial Faraday rotator(FR)and reflective polarizers to replace the lossy *** theoretically predicted 100%efficiency can be achieved approximately by using two high-extinction-ratio reflective *** addition,we evaluated the ghost images using a micro-OLED panel in our imaging ***,the ghost images can be suppressed to undetectable level if the optics are with antireflection *** novel pancake optical system holds great potential for revolutionizing next-generation VR displays with lightweight,compact formfactor,and low power consumption.

The Predictability Limit of Oceanic Mesoscale Eddy Tracks in the South China Sea

Employing the nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent (NLLE) technique, this study assesses the quantitative predictability limit of oceanic mesoscale eddy (OME) tracks utilizing three eddy datasets for both annual and seasonal means. Our findings reveal a discernible predictability limit of approximately 39 days for cyclonic eddies (CEs) and 44 days for anticyclonic eddies (AEs) within the South China Sea (SCS). The predictability limit is related to the OME properties and seasons. The long-lived, large-amplitude, and large-radius OMEs tend to have a higher predictability limit. The predictability limit of AE (CE) tracks is highest in autumn (winter) with 52 (53) days and lowest in spring (summer) with 40 (30) days. The spatial distribution of the predictability limit of OME tracks also has seasonal variations, further finding that the area of higher predictability limits often overlaps with periodic OMEs. Additionally, the predictability limit of periodic OME tracks is about 49 days for both CEs and AEs, which is 5-10 days higher than the mean values. Usually, in the SCS, OMEs characterized by high predictability limit values exhibit more extended and smoother trajectories and often move along the northern slope of the SCS.

The use of high-permittivity(high-k) thin films as gate dielectrics is essential in the development of lowpower electronics,In this work,rare-earth thulium oxide(Tm_(2)O_(3)) thin films were prepared by a facile solution process and annealed at various temperatures from 400 to 700℃.The evolution of the physical and dielectric properties of Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film with annealing temperature was *** is demonstrated that the Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film annealed at 600℃ exhibits the optimal performance,including a low leakage current of 3×10^(-10) A/cm^(2),a large areal capacitance of 250 nF/cm^(2) at 100 Hz,and a high permittivity value of *** Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film as a gate insulator was integrated into the thin film transistor(TFT) employing In_(2)O_(3)-based semiconducting *** In_(2)O_(3) TFT with 600℃-annealed Tm_(2)O_(3) dielectric exhibits the superior perfo rmance,with a high I_(on)/I_(off) of 1.65×10^(7),a small subthre shold swing(SS) value of 0.2 V/dec,a V_(TH) of+1.8 V,and a mobility of 1.68 cm^(2)/(V·s).Furthermore,an inverter constructed by connecting the TFT with a resistor exhibits full-swing *** work provides a facile and appealing method for preparing the high-k Tm_(2)O_(3) thin films as alternative gate dielectrics with the potential for use in low-power electronics and logic circuit applications.

In this paper,a novel ternary eutectic salt Na_(2)CO_(3)-Li_(2)CO_(3)-LiF was designed and investigated for concentrated solar power(CSP).The FactSage software was used to predict the composition and eutectic point of Na_(2)CO_(3)-Li_(2)CO_(3)-*** microstructure,thermophysical properties,and thermal stability of eutectic salts were experimentally measured using various analytical *** a mass ratio of 57%:32%:11%,the eutectic salt exhibited excellent thermal storage properties with a fusion enthalpy of 413 J/g and a melting point of 426.8℃.The excellent thermal stability of the eutectic salt was reflected by a weight loss of only 0.8% at 600℃.

The effects of starch phosphate monoester content(SPC),namely C-3(C3P)and C-6 phosphate monoesters(C6P),on the starch properties were investigated using four potato starches with varied SPC/C3P/C6P and two nonphosphorylated maize starches with a similar range of amylose content(AC)as *** starch property results showed that a higher SPC is associated with lower turbidity,storage and loss modulus after storage,and water solubility,but higher swelling power(SP)and pasting *** findings suggested that SPC inhibited molecular rearrangement during storage and starch leaching during heating,and enhanced swelling and viscosities due to increased hydration and water uptake caused by the repulsion effect of phosphate groups and a less ordered crystalline *** SPC also resulted in lower resistant starch(RS)content in a native granular state but higher RS after *** correlations further indicated that SPC/C3P/C6P were positively correlated with peak(r^(2)=0.925,0.873 and 0.930,respectively),trough(r^(2)=0.994,0.968 and 0.988,respectively),and final viscosities(r^(2)=0.981,0.968 and 0.971,respectively).Notably,SPC,mainly C3P,exhibited a significantly positive correlation with SP(r^(2)=0.859)and setback viscosity(r^(2)=0.867),whereas SPC,mainly C6P,showed a weak positive correlation with RS after retrogradation(r^(2)=0.746).However,SPC had no significant correlations with water solubility,turbidity and rheology properties,which were more correlated with *** findings are helpful for the food industry to select potato starches with desired properties based on their contents of SPC,C3P,or C6P.
