Synergistic oxidation-reforming of biomass for high quality syngas production based on a bifunctional catalyst

Conventional O_(2)gasification for low-rank biomass/sludge conversion is prone to high CO_(2)concentrations in the syngas because of its high O content and low calorific value.This study establishes a synergistic oxidationreforming reaction route for the conversion of low-rank carbon-containing resources into high-quality syngas.The efficient oxidation-reforming reaction is based on the bifunctional catalyst NiO-Fe_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3),which includes Fe_(2)O_(3) oxidation sites and NiO reforming sites.Hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction,together with X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy experiments,demonstrated that the two functional active sites have strong interactions with the support,leading to efficient cooperation between the oxidation reaction and reforming reaction with regards to both the reaction sequence and C/H/O element balance.Syngas produced from biomass/sludge based on oxidation-reforming reactions has an extremely low CO_(2)concentration of approximately 3%,and the valid gas(CO,H_(2))concentration exceeds 95%.The valid gas yield of walnut shell reached 1452.9 mL/g,the total gas yield was 1507.2 mL/g,and the H_(2)/CO ratio was 1.02,which are all very close to the theoretical maximum values of 1553.1 mL/g and 1.01,respectively,demonstrating that the inherent CO_(2)/H_(2)O along with CH4/tar species were efficiently converted to H_(2)and CO through oxidation-reforming reactions.During a 60-cycle test,NiO-Fe_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3) exhibited good redox stability.

Self-powered ultraviolet photodetectors(UVPDs)provide great possibility for the next-generation energy conservation optical communication technology;while the high photodetection performance at zero bias is still a tremendous challenge.Herein,ntype GaN film with Si-doping concentration of~1018cm^(-3)and p-type organic PEDOT:PSS were adopted to construct a planar hybrid heterojunction via the simple spin-coating method.Profited from typical type-Ⅱenergy band alignment and giant photovoltaic effect at GaN/PEDOT:PSS inorganic-organic interface,the fabricated UVPD achieved excellent self-powered photoelectrical properties in dual-band with large R of 0.96 A/W(2.8 A/W),superior D*of 5.7×1012Jones(1.7×10^(13)Jones),prominent EQE of 325%(1371%),high on/off ratio of 9.65×10^(3)(6.15×10^(3))and fast rise/decay time of 60.7/124.5 ms(30.9/26.7 ms)for UVA(UVC)band,as well as outstanding UV/visible rejection ratio and great detection repeatability.Functioned as an optical signal receiver,this designed self-powered UVPD decoded a message of“NJUPT”from a simple optical communication system.These results open a new avenue for GaN/PEDOT:PSS heterojunction in UV communications and related applications.

BACKGROUND Grasping the underlying mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease(AD)is still a work in progress,and existing diagnostic techniques encounter various obstacles.Therefore,the discovery of dependable biomarkers is essential for early detection,tracking the disease's advancement,and steering treatment strategies.AIM To explore the diagnostic potential of serum CXCL12,sCD22,Lp-PLA2,and their ratios in AD,aiming to enhance early detection and inform targeted treatment strategies.METHODS The study was conducted in Dongying people's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022.Participants included 60 AD patients(AD group)and 60 healthy people(control group).Using a prospective case-control design,the levels of CXCL12,sCD22 and Lp-PLA2 and their ratios were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit in the diagnosis of AD.The differences between the two groups were analyzed by statistical methods,and the corresponding ratio was constructed to improve the specificity and sensitivity of diagnosis.RESULTS Serum CXCL12 levels were higher in the AD group(47.2±8.5 ng/mL)than the control group(32.8±5.7 ng/mL,P<0.001),while sCD22 levels were lower(14.3±2.1 ng/mL vs 18.9±3.4 ng/mL,P<0.01).Lp-PLA2 levels were also higher in the AD group(112.5±20.6 ng/mL vs 89.7±15.2 ng/mL,P<0.05).Significant differences were noted in CXCL12/sCD22(3.3 vs 1.7,P<0.001)and Lp-PLA-2/sCD22 ratios(8.0 vs 5.2,P<0.05)between the groups.Receiver operating characteristic analysis confirmed high sensitivity and specificity of these markers and their ratios in distinguishing AD,with area under the curves ranging from CONCLUSION Serum CXCL12 and Lp-PLA2 levels were significantly increased,while sCD22 were significantly decreased,as well as increases in the ratios of CXCL12/sCD22 and Lp-PLA2/sCD22,are closely related to the onset of AD.These biomarkers and their ratios can be used as potential diagnostic indicators for AD,providing an important clinical reference for early intervention and treatment.

The characteristics of the packing material under an alternating electric field are an important factor in the removal of FCCS particles. In this study, the electric field distribution of a separation unit consisting of packed spheres under an alternating electric field is simulated, and the movement mechanism of catalyst particles is analysed. An "effective contact point" model is derived to predict the adsorption of filler contact points on catalyst particles under the alternating electric field, and the model is validated by simulations and experiments. The numerical calculation and experimental results indicate that the electrical properties of the filler spheres, the filler angle θ, and the frequency f of the alternating electric field affect the adsorption of catalyst particles. As the frequency of the electric field increases, the particle removal efficiency of the high-conductivity filler(silicon carbide) increases and then settles, and the separation efficiency of the low-conductivity filler(glass, zirconia) is not sensitive to the change in electric field frequency.

BACKGROUND Differences in the preoperative characteristics and weight loss outcomes after sleeve gastrectomy(SG)between patients with familial aggregation of obesity(FAO)and patients with sporadic obesity(SO)have not been elucidated.AIM To explore the impact of SG on weight loss and the alleviation of obesity-related comorbidities in individuals with FAO.METHODS A total of 193 patients with obesity who underwent SG were selected.Patients with FAO/SO were matched 1:1 by propensity score matching and were categorized into 4 groups based on the number of first-degree relatives with obesity(1 SO vs 1FAO,2SO vs 2FAO).The baseline characteristics,weight loss outcomes,prevalence of obesity-related comorbidities and incidence of major surgeryrelated complications were compared between groups.RESULTS We defined FAO as the presence of two or more first-degree relatives with obesity.Patients with FAO did not initially show significant differences in baseline data,short-term postoperative weight loss,or obesity-related comorbidities when compared to patients with SO preoperatively.However,distinctions between the two groups became evident at the two-year mark,with statistically significant differences in both percentage of total weight loss(P=0.006)and percentage of excess weight loss(P<0.001).The FAO group exhibited weaker remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)(P=0.031),hyperlipidemia(P=0.012),and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)(P=0.003)as well as a lower incidence of acid reflux(P=0.038).CONCLUSION FAO patients is associated with decreased mid-to-long-term weight loss outcomes;the alleviation of T2DM,hyperlipidemia and NAFLD;and decreased incidence of acid reflux postoperatively.

In the frame of fully nonlinear potential flow theory,series solutions of interfacial periodic gravity waves in a two-layer fluid with free surface are obtained by the homotopy analysis method(HAM),and the related wave forces on a vertical cylinder are analyzed.The solution procedure of the HAM for the interfacial wave model with rigid upper surface is further developed to consider the free surface boundary.And forces of nonlinear interfacial periodic waves are estimated by both the classical and modified Mori-son equations.It is found that the estimated wave forces by the classical Morison equation are more conservative than those by the modified Morison’s formula,and the relative error between the total inertial forces calculated by these two kinds of Morison’s formulae remains over 25%for most cases unless the upper and lower layer depths are both large enough.It demonstrates that the convective acceleration neglected in the classical Morison equation is rather important for inertial force exerted by not only internal solitary waves but also interfacial periodic waves.All of these should further deepen our understanding of internal periodic wave forces on a vertical marine riser.

Ar-N_(2)-O_(2)ternary shielding gas is employed in dissimilar welding between high nitrogen steel and low alloy steel.The effect of O_(2)and N_(2)is investigated based on the systematical analysis of the metal transfer,nitrogen escape phenomenon,weld appearance,nondestructive detection,nitrogen content distribution,microstructure and mechanical properties.There are two nitrogen sources of the nitrogen in the weld:high nitrogen base material and shielding gas.The effect of shielding gas is mainly reflected in these two aspects.The change of the droplet transfer mode affects the fusion ratio,N2in the shielding gas can increase nitrogen content and promote the nitrogen uniform distribution.The addition of 2%O_(2)to Ar matrix can change the metal transfer from globular transfer to spray transfer,high nitrogen base material is thereby dissolved more to the molten pool,making nitrogen content increase,ferrite decrease and the mechanical properties improve.When applying N2-containing shielding gas,arc stability becomes poor and short-circuiting transfer frequency increases due to the nitrogen escape from droplets and the molten pool.Performance of the joints is improved with N_(2)increasing,but internal gas pores are easier to appear because of the poor capacity of low alloy steel to dissolve nitrogen,The generation of pores will greatly reduce the impact resistance.4-8%N2content in shielding gas is recommended in this study considering the integrated properties of the dissimilar welded joint.

峰值电流控制Buck变换器广泛应用于电源管理芯片。小信号建模是设计其控制器的关键。现有模型忽略电压外环引入的稳态控制信号纹波与小信号扰动延拓频谱对系统的影响,在高控制带宽场景下失效,从而无法指导控制器的设计。该文首先指出控制器设计决定了控制信号纹波类型,进而研究了可导型纹波对系统建模的影响;然后综合考虑电压、电流环导致的频谱耦合,得到精确的高频模型;最后基于高频模型,提出一种结合遗传算法的高带宽控制器优化设计方法。仿真与实验证明了该模型的精确性与设计方法的优越性。

A study on nonlinear steady-state waves at resonance in water of finite depth by the amplitude-based homotopy analysis method

Nonlinear steady-state waves are obtained by the amplitude-based homotopy analysis method(AHAM)when resonances among surface gravity waves are considered in water of finite depth.AHAM,newly proposed in this paper within the context of homotopy analysis method(HAM)and well validated in various ways,is able to deal with nonlinear wave interactions.In waves with small propagation angles,it is confirmed that more components share the wave energy if the wave field has a greater steepness.However,in waves with larger propagation angles,it is newly found that wave energy may also concentrate in some specific components.In such wave fields,off-resonance detuning is also considered.Bifurcation and symmetrical properties are discovered in some wave fields.Our results may provide a deeper understanding on nonlinear wave interactions at resonance in water of finite depth.
