We isolated a novel lectin(AHL)from Artocarpus hypargyreus Hance and showed its immunomodulatory *** this study,the amino acid sequence of AHL was determined by cDNA *** cDNA(875bp)contains a 456-bp open reading frame(ORF),which encodes a protein with 151 amino *** is a new member of jacalin-related lectin family(JRLs),which share high sequence similarities to KM+and Morniga M,and contain the conserved carbohydrate binding *** antitumor activity of AHL was also explored using Jurkat T cell *** exhibits a strong binding affinity to cell membrane,which can be effectively inhibited by methyl-α-*** inhibits cell proliferation in a time-and dose-dependent manner through apoptosis,evidenced by morphological changes,phosphatidylserine externalization,poly ADP-ribose polymerase(PARP)cleavage,Bad and Bax up-regulation,and caspase-3 *** further showed that the activation of ERK and p38 signaling pathways is involved for the pro-apoptotic effect of AHL.

Icariin(ICA) has a significant capacity to protect against depression and hippocampal injury,but it cannot effectively cross the bloodbrain barrier and accumulate in the ***,the mechanism by which ICA protects against hippocampal injury in depression remains *** this study,we performed proteomics analysis of cerebrospinal fluid to investigate the mechanism by which ICA prevents dysfunctional hippocampal neurogenesis in depression.A rat model of depression was established through exposure to chronic unpredictable mild stress for 6 weeks,after which 120 mg/kg ICA was administered subcutaneously every *** results showed that ICA alleviated depressive symptoms,learning and memory dysfunction,dysfunctional neurogenesis,and neuronal loss in the dentate gyrus of rats with *** stem cells from rat embryonic hippocampi were cultured in media containing 20% cerebrospinal fluid from each group of rats and then treated with 100 μM *** addition of cerebrospinal fluid from rats treated with ICA largely prevented the corticosterone-mediated inhibition of neuronal proliferation and ***-two differentially expressed proteins regulated by chronic unpredictable mild stress and ICA were identified through proteomics analysis of cerebrospinal *** proteins were mainly involved in the ribosome,PI3 K-Akt signaling,and interleukin-17 signaling *** reaction monitoring mass spectrometry showed that Rps4 x,Rps12,Rps14,Rps19,Hsp90 b1,and Hsp90 aa1 were up-regulated by chronic unpredictable mild stress and down-regulated by *** contrast,Htr A1 was down-regulated by chronic unpredictable mild stress and up-regulated by *** findings suggest that ICA can prevent depression and dysfunctional hippocampal neurogenesis through regulating the expression of certain proteins found in the cerebrospinal *** study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Guangzhou University of Chinese

Due to the high specific capacity and energy density, lithium–sulfur battery is regarded as a potential energy storage conversion system. However, the serious shuttle effect and the sluggish electrochemical reaction kinetics impede the practical use of lithium–sulfur battery. In the interests of breaking through the above knotty problems, herein we propose to use the polar flower-like Zn O modified by Bi OI nanoparticles as bifunctional host with catalytic and adsorption ability for polysulfides in lithium–sulfur *** can be found that this adsorption/catalytic host integrates the functions of adsorption and mutual catalytic conversion of polysulfides, in which the polar flower-like Zn O can effectively capture the polysulfides through strong polar-polar interaction, simultaneously the BiOI nanoparticles can accelerate the mutual conversion of polysulfides to li2 S through reducing the activation energy and conversion energy barrier required for the electrochemical reaction. As a result, under a sulfur loading of 2.5 mg cm^(-2), the lithium–sulfur battery with Zn O/Bi OI/CNT/S as cathode reveals a considerable initial specific capacity of1267 mAh g^(-1) at a current density of 0.1 C. Even the current density increased to 1 C, the capacity can reach as 873.4 mAh g^(-1), together with a good capacity retention of 67.1% after 400 cycles. Therefore,after systematically study the positive effects of the flower-like ZnO modified by catalytic BiOI nanoparticles on the adsorption and catalytic conversion of polysulfides, this work provides a new idea for the development and application of high-performance lithium–sulfur batteries.

The conjugation of external species with twodimensional(2D)materials has broad application *** this study,we have explored the potential of noble metal/2D MOF heterostructures in hydrogen ***,the MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@Pd system has shown remarkable hydrogen desorption/sorption performances,starting to liberate hydrogen at 1810C,which is 2300C lower than that of pristine *** the catalytic effect of Ni-MOF@Pd,the dehydrogenation apparent activation energy of MgH2 is noticeably decreased from(133.5±17.5)to(34.58±1.87)kJ·moL^(-1),and the hydrogenation apparent activation energy is reduced from(70.41±7.43)to(25.78±4.64)kJ·moL^(-1),which is lowered by 63.4%.The fully-dehydrogenated MgH2-NiMOF@Pd composite rapidly uptakes hydrogen,with 2.62wt%at 100℃and 6.06 wt%at 150℃within 300 s,*** mechanism analysis of MgH2 catalyzed by Ni-MOF@Pd has revealed that the transformation of Mg_2Ni and Mg_2NiH_4 could act as a"hydrogen pump",providing numerous channels for fast diffusion and transport of hydrogen ***,in the dehydrogenation process,the element Pd reacts with MgH_(2)to form the MgPd alloy phase,which makes MgH_(2)take precedence to decompose through the Mg-Pd alloy rather than self-decomposition,further reducing thermal stability and improving de/hydrogenation *** synergistic effect of Mg-Pd,Mg_2Ni,and the special ultra-thin 2D sheet structure of the additive is the main reason for the good hydrogen storage property of MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@*** findings provide inspiration for designing efficient multifunctional additives with unique morphologies to optimize the hydrogen desorption/sorption behaviors of hydrogen storage materials.

In Asia,about 1%-19.1% of the population suffer ***,due to variations in socio-economic status and geographic locations,the prevalence and incidence have changed in different countries or regions over the *** research for risk factors of urinary tract stones is of predominant *** this review,we find the prevalence of urolithiasis is 5%-19.1% in West Asia,Southeast Asia,South Asia,aswellas somedevelopedcountries(SouthKorea and Japan),whereas,it is only 1%e8%inmost part of East Asia and North *** recurrence rate ranges from 21% to 53% after 3e5 ***(75%-90%)is themost frequent component of calculi,followed by uric acid(5%-20%),calciumphosphate(6%-13%),struvite(2%-15%),apatite(1%)and cystine(0.5%-1%).The incidence of urolithiasis reaches its peak in population agedover 30 *** aremore likely to suffer fromurinary *** of different dietary habits or genetic background,differences of prevalence among races or nationalities also *** of specific locus may contribute to the formation of different kinds of *** habits(westernized dietary habits and less fluid intake),as well as climatic factors(hot temperature andmany hours of exposure to sunshine)play a crucial role in the development of *** diseases,especially metabolic syndrome,may also contribute to urinary tract stones.

We present an ultrasensitive ultraviolet （UV） detector based on a p-type ZnS nanoribbon （NR）/indium tin oxide （ITO） Schottky barrier diode （SBD）. The device exhibits a pseudo-photovoltaic behavior which can allow the SBD to detect UV light irradiation with incident power of 6 × 10^-17 W （-85 photons/s on the NR） at room temperature, with excellent reproducibility and stability. The corresponding detectivity and photoconductive gain are calculated to be 3.1 × 10^20 ***1/2.W^-1 and 6.6 × 10^5, respectively. It is found that the presence of the trapping states at the p-ZnS NWITO interface plays a crucial role in determining the ultrahigh sensitivity of this nanoSBDs. Based on our theoretical calculation, even ultra-low photon fluxes on the order of several tens of photons could induce a significant change in interface potential and consequently cause a large photocurrent variation. The present study provides new opportunities for developiphigh-performance optoelectronic devices in the future.

Although widely applied in treating hematopoietic malignancies,transplantation of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells(HSPCs)is impeded by HSPC *** circulating HSPCs(cHSPCs)in steady-state blood could be used as an alternative source remains largely *** we develop a three-dimensional culture system(3DCS)including arginine,glycine,aspartate,and a series of ***-day culture of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMNCs)in 3DCS led to 125-and 70-fold increase of the frequency and number of CD34+***,3DCS-expanded cHSPCs exhibited the similar reconstitution rate com-pared to CD34+HSPCs in bone ***,3DCS fabricated an immunomodulatory niche,secreting cytokines as TNF to support cHSPC survival and ***,3DCS could also promote the expansion of cHSPCs in patients who failed in HSPC *** 3DCS successfully expands rare cHSPCs,providing an alternative source for the HSPC therapy,particularly for the patients/donors who have failed in HSPC mobilization.
