Ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus are different genotypes of the same species of virus

Bocaviruses are associated with many human infectious diseases, such as respiratory tract infections, gastroenteritis, and hepatitis. Rats are known to be reservoirs of bocaviruses, including rodent bocavirus and rat bocavirus.Recently, ungulate bocaparvovirus 4, a known porcine bocavirus, has also been found in rats. Thus, investigating bocaviruses in rats is important for determining the origin of the viruses and preventing and controlling their transmission. To the best of our knowledge, no study to date has investigated bocaviruses in the livers of rats. In this report, a total of 624 rats were trapped in southern China between 2014 and 2017. Liver and serum samples from rats were tested for the prevalence of bocaviruses using PCR. Sequences related to ungulate bocaparvovirus 4and rodent bocavirus were detected in both liver and serum samples. Interestingly, the prevalence of ungulate bocaparvovirus 4(reference strain: KJ622366.1) was higher than that of rodent bocavirus(reference strain:KY927868.1) in both liver(2.24% and 0.64%, respectively) and serum samples(2.19% and 0.44%, respectively).The NS1 regions of ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus related sequences displayed over 84% and88% identity at the nucleic acid and amino acid levels, respectively. Furthermore, these sequences had similar genomic structure, genomic features, and codon usage bias, and shared a common ancestor. These viruses also displayed greater adaptability to rats than pigs. our results suggested that ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus may originate from rats and may be different genotypes of the same bocavirus species.

Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease study highlights the trends in death and disability-adjusted life years of leukemia from 1990 to 2017

Background:The patterns of leukemia burden have dramatically changed in recent years.This study aimed to estimate the global trends of leukemiarelated death and disability-adjusted life-years(DALYs)from 1990 to 2017.Methods:The data was acquired from the latest version of the Global Burden of Disease(GBD)study.Estimated annual percentage changes(EAPCs)were calculated to estimate the trend of age-standardized rate(ASR)of death and DALYs due to leukemia and its main subtypes from 1990 to 2017.Results:Globally,the numbers of death and DALYs due to leukemia were 347.58×10^(3)(95%uncertainty interval[UI]=317.26×10^(3)-364.88×10^(3))and 11975.35×10^(3)(95%UI=10749.15×10^(3)-12793.58×10^(3))in 2017,with a 31.22% and 0.03% increase in absolute numbers from 1990 to 2017,respectively.Both of their ASR showed decreasing trends from 1990 to 2017 with the EAPCs being−1.04(95%confidence interval[CI]=(−1.10-−0.99)and−1.52(95%CI=−1.59-−1.44),respectively.Globally,the most pronounced decreasing trend of death and DALYs occurred in chronic myeloid leukemia with EAPCs of−2.76(95%CI=−2.88-−2.64)and−2.84(95%CI=−2.97-−2.70),respectively,while the trend increased in acute myeloid leukemia.The death and DALYs of leukemia decreased in most areas and countries with high socio-demographic index(SDI)including Bahrain,Finland,and Australia.Conclusions:The disease burden of death and DALYs due to leukemia decreased globally,and for most regions and countries from 1990 to 2017.However,the leukemia burden is still a substantial challenge globally and required adequate and affordable medical resources to improve the survival and quality of life of leukemia patients.

Isotropic Tuning of Electrochemical Etching forthe Nanometric Finishing of Metals

Isotropic etching polishing(IEP)based on the merging of isotropic etch pits has been proposed as a generic metal finishing approach.In this work,the tuning of the etching isotropy of various metals,which is the key to realizing the finishing effect of IEP,is studied by theoretical analysis and etching experiments.The isotropic etching of various metals can be realized through mass transfer polarization by adjusting the electrochemical parameters.The addition of sulfuric acid in the electrolyte is the most effective for tuning the isotropy of electrochemical etching.It can decrease the diffusion coefficient of metal ions,thereby increasing the resistance of mass transfer and transforming the electrochemical dissolution of metal into mass transfer polarization.In this study,the atomic and close-to-atomic scale surface finishing of various metals and alloys has been successfully achieved through isotropic etching.After etching at a current of 1.5 A for 3 min,the surface Sa roughness of TA2 is drastically reduced from 242 to 3.98 nm.After etching for 1 min at a current of 3 A,the surface Sa roughness of pure tungsten,NiTi,and CoCrNi decreases from 9.33,76.4,and 37.6 nm,respectively,to 1.16,2.01,and 2.51 nm,respectively.

Numerical Simulation of Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical-Chemical Response Caused by CO_(2)Injection into Saline Geological Formations:A Case Study from the Ordos Project,China

Thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical(THMC)interactions are prevalent during CO_(2)geological sequestration(CGS).In this study,a sequential coupling THMC numerical simulation program was constructed,which can be used to explore the following issues of CGS:fluid and heat flow,solute transport;stresses,displacements and rock failures related to geo-mechanical effects;equilibrium and kinetic chemical reactions;chemical damage to mechanical properties of the rock.Then,the coupling program was applied to the Ordos CGS Project to study the formation response under the multifield interaction caused by CO_(2)injection.The simulation results show that the mechanical process dominates the short CO_(2)injection period.Specifically,the formation’s permeability near the injection well increases by 43%,due to the reduction of effective stress,which significantly promotes the lateral migration of CO_(2).When the injection rate exceeds 0.15 million tons per year,the cohesion of the reservoir rock is not enough to resist the shear force inside the rock and rock failure may occur.During the subsequent long-term sequestration period(200 years),the influence of mineral reactions gradually increases.Due to calcite dissolution,the shear modulus of caprock is predicted to decrease by 7.6%,which will to some extent increase the risk of rock failure.

基于罗杰斯创新扩散理论,采用立意抽样法,对涵盖智能驾驶创新扩散源、潜在受用群体的25家典型机构中的95名受访者进行深度调研,结合资料分析、现场观察等质性研究法,勾勒中国智能驾驶创新扩散实践经历新冠肺炎疫情前后呈现的不同创新属性扩散模式特征。结果发现:(1)新冠肺炎疫情虽然在一定程度上消解了L1-L5级智能驾驶创新扩散源与政府及限定场景潜在受用群体创新属性之间的矛盾,却将新矛盾聚焦于非专业人士教育培训与操作易用性诉求上;(2)新冠肺炎疫情加快了政府及限定场景潜在受用群体对智能驾驶创新的认知进程,使得智能驾驶创新劝服与决策过程直接进入实施阶段;(3)智能驾驶创新采纳者钟形曲线分布发生偏移,原先属于落后者、晚期大多数类别的潜在受用群体不断向早期大多数类别身份转换。最终,提出积极寻求疫情与复工场景应用机会、定向开发并拓展产品线、加速技术迭代与升级等应急举措,以面对突发性公共危机时能够继续维系有效的扩散实践。

Analysis of driving forces of water demand in Jing-Jin-Ji district in recent years based on water demand field theory

In recent years,urbanization has accelerated and the gap between urban water supply and demand has become more significant.This phenomenon has led to greater demands on urban water resource management. Thus,analyses of the forces that drive urban water demand growth can help efficient management of urban water resources. "Jing-Jin-Ji" refers to the district composed of Beijing and Tianjin,municipality as well as Hebei Province,which is among the political and economic centers of China. The traditional analysis of driving force for water resources often consider cities as independent individuals and ignores the interaction between them. Such method cannot describe the spatial distribution of regional water demand. In this study,the water demand field theory is used to construct water demand and social development fields for the Jing-Jin-Ji district with relevant indicators. The distribution trends of the two fields,and the correlation of their intensities,are then analyzed. Principal component analysis is used to specifically determine the forces that drive water demand at different stages of development.Results indicate that the water demand field theory can accurately describe spatial variations in water demand intensity in the study area. The main driving force for water demand in the Jing-Jin-Ji district from 2000 to 2014 is the growth of urban population. However,in 2015 and 2016,"GDP of the tertiary industry" overtook it. The results of this study can serve as a basis for regional water demand forecasting,with large potential to be applied to urban water resource management.

Development status of high power fiber lasers and their coherent beam combination

High-power fiber laser has been emerged great potential in a wide range of applications and becomes a robust candidate for high energy solid state laser system. To further increase the output brightness of single-channel fiber laser, high-brightness pump sources and high-power-handling passive components should be fabricated and utilized in the fiber laser systems, in addition to the advanced techniques for multiple nonlinear effects managements. The state-of-the-art high power fiber lasers are reviewed, in terms of narrow-linewidth fiber lasers, broadband fiber lasers and fiber lasers at 2 μm. Coherent beam combining is a promising technique to obtain higher output power while maintaining excellent beam quality simultaneously,which breaks through the bottlenecks of single-channel fiber laser. Based on a series of key techniques for coherent beam combining, high-power coherent beam combining of fiber lasers could be enabled with high combining efficiency. In this paper, we review the progress of high-power fiber lasers and their coherent beam combining in the recent decade, particularly the relevant work in our group. The future prospects of fiber lasers and coherent beam combining technique are also discussed.

Naringenin as a natural immunomodulator against T-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases

Naringenin is the aglycone of naringin with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-atherosclerotic, and antibacterial activities. Current research supports naringenin as a new generation of immune modulators, which is of great significance for preventing and treating T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. This study aimed to detect the possible effects and molecular mechanisms of naringenin against T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases, including multiple sclerosis(MS), inflammatory bowel disease(IBD), and rheumatoid arthritis(RA), by network pharmacology. Methods Firstly, the target of naringenin was predicted by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP), Swiss Target Prediction, the Comparative Toxicogenomics Database(TCD), and the diseases target were studied by GeneGards and DisgeNet database. Then obtain target gene information in UniProt database, submit to String, DAVID database for PPI, GO, and KEGG analysis. The network was visualized by Cytoscape 3.72 software. Finally, the ligands of the core targets were determined from the PDB database, and the molecular docking with naringenin was performed using PyMol and AutoDock software. Results Dietary naringenin ameliorates EAE clinical symptoms via inhibiting T cell proliferation and T cell differentiation, and reducing the CNS cell infiltration by blocking chemokine-mediated migration of DCs and pathogenic T cells into the CNS. The predition of DAVID enrichment analysis, PPI protein networkinteraction analysis, and molecular docking found that a total of sixteen common genes were observed,among which the core gene was PTGS2, ESR1, CAT, CASP3, MAPK1, AKT1, and thepossible molecular mechanism is related to the signaling pathways of HIF-1, estrogen, TNF, and NF-kB. Conclusion This study provided a new strategy and possible molecular mechanism for naringenin in treating T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases through network pharmacological studies. The T-cell development process is precisely controlled at different stages. Before entering the positive and negative selection stage, thymocytes need to proliferate into a significant cell mass. This proliferation has been considered to happen during double negative stage according to previous studies. However, we observed higher expression of cell cycling genes in ISP cells, suggesting fast cell proliferation in this stage, which is later confirmed in both BrdU incorporation and cell cycle analysis experiments. We then went on to investigate the mechanism of this stage-specific regulation of cell proliferation. Nuclear protein ataxia-telangiectasia(NPAT) is an in vivo substrate of cyclin E-Cdk2 kinase and plays a critical role in coordinating histone gene expression during the G1/S-phase transition and to ensure S-phase entry. The induced expression of NPAT at ISP stage indicate that it may play a regulatory role in governing the cell proliferation. Indeed, we found that selective deletion of NPAT at ISP stage led to reduced thymus size and significant loss of DP cells, secondary to reduced histone gene expression and impaired cell proliferation capacity. A block of thymocyte development at ISP stage right before the transition to the DP stage was also observed, which is likely due to increased IL-7 expression. Continuous IL7 signal was able to inhibit expression of transcription faction TCF-1 and LEF-1, which essential for the transition of ISP to DP cells.In sum, our study revealed the proliferation capacity of ISP subpopulation during thymocyte differentiation and revealed an essential and critical role of NPAT in this process.

人工智能已成为新一轮产业革命的引擎,智能驾驶作为人工智能技术落地的重要载体,被各国政府看成是角逐全球人工智能领导者地位的重要布局点。百度Apollo开放平台是科技部针对自动驾驶领域批复的首批新一代人工智能开放创新平台,毋庸置疑承载了中国关乎人工智能技术落地的重大战略责任,是观察中国智能驾驶开放平台发展情况的典型窗口。本文在创新扩散理论视角下,对百度Apollo开放平台进行案例研究,从相对优势、兼容性、复杂性、可试性、可观察性五个方面归纳其创新属性,总结其发展特征,分析其创新的扩散阶段与扩散方式。百度Apollo开放平台具备较好的创新扩散与传播条件,加速了技术迭代和应用落地。
