Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Mineral Alteration Mapping and Lineament Extraction Case of Oudiane elkharoub (Requibat Shield, Northern of Mauritania)

The integration of remotely sensed data allowed the successful characterization of the mineral alteration zones of the Oudiane elkharoub area in the Northeastern part of Reguibat Shield using image transformation techniques. As both chemical and geochemical analyses showed significant Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Mn, Cr, Ni, Th and Y anomalies, it’s very interesting to apply the remote sensing and GIS in mineral resources mapping. The remote sensing is a direct adjunct to the field, lithologic and structural mapping, and more recently, GIS has played an important role in the study of mineralization areas. The integration of several evidential maps highlighted the plausible areas with high concentrations of chlorite, epidote, kaolinite, calcite, alunite, hematite, illite and sulfur among other key mineral alterations that reflect the intensity of hydrothermal effects and the probable sites of ore bodies. The methodological approach integrates geological information acquired from Aster and Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS (Operational Land Imager/Thermal InfraRed Sensor) images and a multi-criteria GIS analysis. The superimposition of various lineament and hydrothermal alteration maps and the consideration of precious and base metal indicators allowed the zoning of sites likely to contain mineral concentrations. Remote sensing becomes an important tool for locating mineral deposits in its own right, when the primary and secondary processes of mineralization result in the formation of spectral anomalies. Reconnaissance lithological mapping is usually the first step of mineral resource mapping. This is complimented with structural mapping, as mineral deposits usually occur along or adjacent to geologic structures, and alteration mapping, as mineral deposits are commonly associated with hydrothermal alteration of the surrounding rocks. Ground truthing and laboratory studies including XRD analysis were utilized to verify the results.

In recent years,engineering the total morphology of pharmaceutical materials particles to desirable shape,size and surface area has long been actively increased because it has many advantages especially for improving physicochemical properties of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients(APIs).This article therefore considers the potential utility of crystal engineering as a tool for controlling and designing properties of pharmaceutical solid particles in purpose to developing efficacious performance of solid dosage form,fundamentals of crystallization process,*** addition,understanding the relationship between molecular recognition,thermodynamic,and kinetics which controls the crystallization process so that it benefits in designing successful experiments to have desirable crystal habit for materials.

Evaluation of Al and Some of Its Alloys as Anode Materials vs γ-MnO_2 as Cathode Material and Ore Produced γ-MnO_2 vs Zn Anode in KOH Solution

In this study electrochemical performance of Al and some of its alloys （Al-Zn, Al-rvlg and Al-rvln） anodes vs MnO2 cathode were carried out in alkaline solution. The results show that the Al-Zn alloy anode has the best cell capacity among the other alloys. Cell capacity values go in the order Al-Zn〉Al-Mg〉Al〉Al-Mn. This result is probably related to the nature of passive films formed on the surface of the alloys which examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. SEM morphologies of Al and its alloys showed coarse grains of passive films formed on the surface of these anode materials while Al-Mn morphology shows a needle-like structure. electrolytic manganese dioxide （EMD） produced by electrodepositing on platinum anode from liquor resulting from reduction of low grade pyrolusite ore （β-MnO2） by sulfur slag was characterized as cathode in alkaline Zn-MnO2 batteries. Ore produced sample （EMD1） was performed well in comparison with EMD standard （EMD2）（commercial battery grade electrolytic manganese dioxide, TOSOH-Hellas GH-S）. SEM morphology of Zn anode after cell reaction was carried out and showed that Zn anode has fine grains of passive film on its surface.

MIMO Hardware Simulator: Algorithm Design for Heterogeneous Environments

A wireless communication system can be tested either in actual conditions or by a hardware simulator reproducing actual conditions. With a hardware simulator it is possible to freely simulate a desired type of a radio channel and making it possible to test “on table” mobile radio equipment. This paper presents an architecture for the digital block of a hardware simulator of MIMO propagation channels. This simulator can be used for LTE and WLAN IEEE 802.11ac applications, in indoor and outdoor environments. However, in this paper, specific architecture of the digital block of the simulator is presented to characterize a scenario indoor to outdoor using TGn channel models. The switching between each environment in the scenario must be made in a continuous manner. Therefore, an algorithm is designed to pass from a considered impulse response in the environment to another in other environment. The architecture of the digital block of the hardware simulator is presented and implemented on a Xilinx Virtex-IV FPGA. Moreover, the impulse responses are transferred into the simulator. The accuracy, the occupation on the FPGA and the latency of the architecture are analyzed.

Auto-Scale Factor Circuit Realisation for MIMO Hardware Simulator

A hardware simulator reproduces the behavior of the radio propagation channel, thus making it possible to test “on table” the mobile radio equipments. The simulator can be used for LTE and WLAN 802.11ac applications, in indoor and outdoor environments. In this paper, the input signals parameters and the relative power of the impulse responses are related to the relative error and SNR of the output signals. After analyzing the influence of these parameters on the output error and SNR, an algorithm based on an Auto-Scale Factor (ASF) is analyzed in details to improve the precision of the output signals of the hardware simulator digital block architecture. Moreover, the circuit needed for the validation of this algorithm has been introduced, verified and realized. It is shown that this solution increases the output SNR if the relative powers of the impulse responses are attenuated. The new architecture of the digital block is presented and implemented on a Xilinx Virtex-IV FPGA. The occupation on the FPGA and the accuracy of the architecture are analyzed.

Hearing Threshold Evaluation in Children Using Narrow Band Chirp Auditory Brainstem Response and Tone Burst Auditory Brainstem Response

Objectives: Correlation between Narrow Band Chirp Auditory Brainstem Response (NB-CE chirp ABR) as a frequency specific method for hearing threshold detection in children and Tone burst Auditory Brainstem Response (Tb-ABR) in reference to behavioral hearing threshold audiometry. Material and Methods: This study was conducted on 100 patients at audiology unit, Menoufia University hospital, in the period from Oct. 2015 to Feb. 2017. Patients enrolled within this study were classified into four groups: Group I: included 40 patients diagnosed with normal hearing, Group II: included 48 patients with mild to moderate sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), Group III: included 56 patients with moderate to moderately severe SNHL and Group IV: included 56 patients with severe to profound SNHL. All patients’ enrolled NB-CE chirp ABR, Tb-ABR as well as pure tone audiogram (PTA). Results: there was a significant correlation between NB-CE chirp ABR and PTA hearing threshold. The use of a chirp-ABR testing ensures higher sensitivity and accuracy than that of Tb-ABR for measuring frequency-specific thresholds in young children. Conclusion: NB-CE Chirp ABR is more efficient than Tb-ABR as a frequency specific tool for hearing threshold estimation in children.

Late rising in pacing threshold is an uncommon complication of permanent pacing. Treatment with high dose systemic steroid could spare the patient another procedure. We report a case of late rising pacing threshold that responded to high dose sys-temic steroid which lowered the pacing threshold to one volt, then rose again to around 2 volts.

Beneficial Effects of Some Nutraceuticals Containing Glucosamine and Antioxidant against CCL4 Induced Brain Injury in Rats

The present study is performed to investigate the effect of two different glucosamine containing drugs: Drug 1 and Drug 2 (D1 and D2) against CCl4 induced brain damage in male albino rats. Liverin (AM) was employed in the current study as an antioxidant reference drug. CCl4 administration caused a significant elevation in the levels of MDA and NO of brain tissue, in association with a significant decrease in the antioxidant defense system (GSH, SOD and GPX) that indicated the induction of oxidative stress in brain tissue. CCl4 administration induced brain injury as manifested by the obtained changes in neurotransmitter parameter (norepinephrine (NE), Dopamine (DA), Serotonin (5-HT), and Acetylcholinesterase AChE). The tested nutraceuticals and the antioxidant drug displayed a significant improvement against the undue effect of CCl4 via decreasing the brain tissue content of MDA, NO with the elevation of GSH content. Also, the significant increase in SOD and GPX enzymatic activity was obtained when compared to CCL4 group. In addition AM, D1, and D2 have an ameliorative effect on neurotransmitter parameter NE, DA, 5HT, and AChE. Results of this study suggest that both antioxidant drugs and tested nutraceuticals palliate the brain injuries through anti-oxidative effect, with the elimination of the deleterious effect of toxic metabolites of CCl4 on brain tissue.
