Solar evaporation for simultaneous oil-water separation and electricity generation with Janus wood-based absorbers

Oily wastewater from ocean oil spills endangers marine ecosystems and human health. Therefore, developing an effective and sustainable solution for separating oil-water mixtures is urgent. Interfacial solar photothermal evaporation is a promising approach for the complete separation of two-phase mixtures using only solar energy. Herein, we report a carbonized wood-based absorber with Janus structure of comprising a hydrophobic top-layer and an oleophobic bottom-layer for simultaneous solar-driven oil-water separation and electricity generation. Under sunlight irradiation, the rapid evaporation of seawater will induce a separation of oil-water mixtures, and cause a high salt concentration region underlying the interface, while the bottom “bulk water” maintains in a low salt concentration, thus form.ng a salinity gradient. Electricity can be generated by salinity gradient power. Therefore, oil-water separation efficiency of > 99% and derived extra electricity power of ~0.1 W/m2 is achieved under solar radiation, demonstrating the feasibility of oil-water separation and electricity production synchronously directly using solar energy. This work provides a green and cost-effective path for the separation of oil-water mixtures.

One-pot Synthesis of Hierarchical Flower-like WS_(2) microspheres as Anode materials for Lithium-ion Batteries

3D hierarchical flowerlike WS_(2) microspheres were synthesized through a facile one-pot hydrothermal *** as-synthesized samples were characterized by powder X-ray powder diffraction (XRD),energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS),scanning electron microscopy (SEm) and *** images of the samples reveal that the hierarchical flowerlike WS_(2) microspheres with diameters of about 3-5μm are composed of a number of curled *** tests such as charge/discharge,cyclic voltammetry,cycle life and rate performance were carried out on the WS_(2) *** an anode material for lithium-ion batteries,hierarchical flowerlike WS_(2) microspheres show excellent electrochemical *** a current density of100 mA·g^(-1),a high specific capacity of 647.8 mA·h·g^(-1) was achieved after 120 discharge/charge *** excellent electrochemical performance of WS_(2) as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries can be attributed to its special 3D hierarchical structure.

A methodology for laser tool setters calibration and its precise mathematical model

On-machine tool setting is a pivotal approach in achieving intelligent manufacturing,and laser tool setters have become a crucial component of smart machine *** tool setters play a crucial role in precisely measuring the dimensions of cutting tools during the part machining process,focusing on tool length and *** a measuring instrument,the positions of the laser axis of the laser tool setter need to be accurately calibrated before ***,in actual calibration scenarios,traditional calibration methods face challenges due to installation errors in the tool setter and geometric errors in the measuring *** address this issue,this study proposes a novel calibration ***,the calibration mechanism of the laser beam axis is *** on the accurate mathematical model of the laser beam and the measuring rod,and using the polygon clipping algorithm,the mathematical mechanism of the laser tool setter’s work is ***,a novel method is introduced to calculate the compensation distance between the laser beam reference point and the rod bottom center point at each moment during ***,by utilizing the kinematic chain of the tool setter calibration system,a new calibration method is developed to accurately calibrate the position of the laser beam axis in the machine tool coordinate ***,the accuracy of the calibration method is verified through simulation experiments and calibration *** method improves the calibration accuracy of the tool setter,and the mathematical model of the laser tool setter can be extended to the measurement of tools,thereby improving the precision of tool *** research significantly improves the efficient production performance of smart machine tools.

Fine Sand and Clay Sediment Acoustic Properties of the Novel Sediment Sample from the Arabian Sea:Experimental Investigations and Biot−Stoll model Validation

The present study explores the physical and acoustic characteristics of fine sand and clay in novel seabed marine sediments from of Pakistan coastline of the Arabian *** measured physical parameters included mean grain size,mass density,bulk density,salinity,porosity,permeability,pore size and mineralogical *** properties,including sound speed and attenuation,in the high frequency range of 90-170 kHz were analyzed.A controlled laboratory setup with the acoustic transmission method and Fourier transform techniques was utilized to examine the sound propagation and absorption of novel seabed *** standard deviation of mean sound speed in fresh water was 0.75 m/s,and attenuation was observed in the range of 0.43 to 0.61 dB/*** mean sound velocity in sand and clay varied from 1706 to 1709 m/s and 1602 to 1608 m/s,*** average attenuation was observed at 80 to 93 dB/m in sandy sediments and from 31.8 to 38.6 dB/m in clayey *** velocity variation within sandy sediment is low,consistent with expected results,and smaller than the predicted ***,clay sediment exhibited a positive linear correlation and low sound speed *** increased linearly with frequency for both ***,the laboratory results were validated by using the Biot−Stoll *** dispersion of sound speed in sandy and clayey sediments was consistent with the predictions of the Biot−Stoll *** attenuation aligned more with Biot−Stoll model predictions due to improved permeability,tortuosity and pore size parameter fitting.

In this article,we mainly study the products of commutator ideals of Lie-admissible algebras such as Novikov algebras,bicommutative algebras,and assosymmetric *** precisely,we first study the properties of the lower central chains for Novikov algebras and bicommutative *** we show that for every Lie nilpotent Novikov algebra or Lie nilpotent bicommutative algebra A,the ideal of A generated by the set{ab−ba|a,b∈A}is ***,we study properties of the lower central chains for assosymmetric algebras,study the products of commutator ideals of assosymmetric algebras and show that the products of commutator ideals have a similar property as that for associative algebras.

In this article,we construct free centroid hom-associative algebras and free centroid hom-Lie *** also construct some other relatively free centroid hom-associative algebras by applying the Gr?bner-Shirshov basis theory for(unital)centroid hom-associative ***,we prove that the"Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem"holds for certain type of centroid hom-Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0,namely,every centroid hom-Lie algebra such that the eigenvectors of the mapβlinearly generates the whole algebra can be embedded into its universal enveloping centroid hom-associative algebra,and the linear basis of the universal enveloping algebra does not depend on the multiplication table of the centroid hom-Lie algebra under consideration.

Thermally Conductive,Healable Glass Fiber Cloth Reinforced Polymer Composite based onβ-Hydroxyester Bonds Crosslinked Epoxy with Improved Heat Resistance

To simultaneously endow thermal conductivity,high glass transition temperature(Tg)and healing capability to glass fiber/epoxy(GFREP)composite,dynamic crosslinked epoxy resin bearing reversibleβ-hydroxyl ester bonds was reinforced with boron nitride nanosheets modified glass fiber cloth(GFC@BNNSs).The in-plane heat conduction paths were constructed by electrostatic self-assembly of polyacrylic acid treated GFC and polyethyleneimine decorated ***,the GFC@BNNSs were impregnated with the mixture of lower concentration(3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane grafted BN micron sheets,3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3,4-epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate and hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride,which accounted for establishing the through-plane heat transport pathways and avoiding serious deterioration of mechanical *** resultant GFREP composite containing less boron nitride particles(17.6 wt%)exhibited superior in-plane(3.29 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))and through-plane(1.16 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))thermal conductivities,as well as high Tg of 204℃(Tg of the unfilled epoxy=177℃).The reversible transesterification reaction enabled closure of interlaminar cracks within the composite,achieving decent healing efficiencies estimated by means of tensile strength(71.2%),electrical breakdown strength(83.6%)and thermal conductivity(69.1%).The present work overcame the disadvantages of conventional thermally conductive composites,and provided an efficient approach to prolong the life span of thermally conductive GFREP laminate for high-temperature resistant integrated circuit application.

Static recrystallization behaviors and mechanisms of 7mo super-austenitic stainless steel with undissolved sigma precipitates during double-stage hot deformation

Static recrystallization(SRX)behaviors and corresponding recrystallization mechanisms of 7mo super-austenitic stainless steel were studied under different deformation *** order of influence of deformation parameters on static recrystallization behaviors,from high to low,is followed by temperature,first-stage strain and strain ***,the effect of holding time on static recrystallization behaviors is significantly controlled by *** addition,with the increase in temperature from 1000 to 1200°C,the static recrystallization mechanism evolves from discontinuous static recrystallization and continuous static recrystallization(cSRX)to metadynamic recrystallization and cSRX,and finally to *** cSRX exists at all *** is because high stacking fault energy(56 mJ m−2)promotes the movement of dislocations,making the deformation mechanism of this steel is dominated by planar slip of *** undissolved sigma precipitates promote static recrystallization through particle-stimulated ***,small strain-induced precipitates at grain boundaries hinder the nucleation of conventional SRX and the growth of recrystallized grains,while the hindering effect decreases with the increase in temperature.

The vehicle industry is always in search of breakthrough energy-saving and emission-reduction *** recent years,vehicle intelligence has progressed considerably,and researchers are currently trying to take advantage of these *** we consider the case of many vehicles form.ng a queue,i.e.,vehicles traveling at a predetermined speed and distance *** the majority of existing studies on this subject have focused on the influence of the longitudinal vehicle spacing,vehicle speed,and the number of vehicles on aerodynamic drag and fuel economy,this study considers the lateral offset distance of the vehicle *** group fuel consumption savings rate is calculated and *** also demonstrated by experimental results,some aerodynamic benefits ***,the fuel consumption saving rate of the vehicle queue decreases as the lateral offset distance increases.

Refractories have an important effect on the cleanliness of molten *** interaction between CeAlO_(3) refractories and Ce treated steel was explored and compared with that between Al_(2)O_(3) refractories and Ce treated *** results show that the Ce content in steel decreases sharply after contact with Al_(2)O_(3) refractories and the pick-up of dissolved Al *** with the test of Al_(2)O_(3) refractories,the loss of Ce content is less in the test of CeAlO_(3) refractory,and the total oxygen content and dissolved Al content in steel increase *** dense and continuous Ce_(2)O_(2)S interface layer is observed at the CeAlO_(3) refractories/steel interface,which can serve as the metallurgical isolation layer and hinder the further interaction between refractories and ***,the higher steel cleanliness and less penetration of refractories by molten steel are obtained in the test of CeAlO_(3) *** CeAlO_(3) refractories show a promising prospect in the production of clean Ce treated steel.
