Development of aperiodic multilayer mirrors operated at W-Lβline for plasma diagnostics application

Multilayer interference mirrors play a pivotal role in spectroscopic diagnostic systems,which probe electron temperature and density during inertial confinement fusion *** this study,aperiodic Mo/B_(4)C multilayer mirrors of varied thick-nesses were investigated for X-ray plasma diagnostics at the 9.67-keV W-Lβ*** thickness distribution of the aperiodic multilayers was designed using the first Bragg diffraction condition and then optimized through a simplex algorithm to realize a narrow bandwidth and consistent spectral *** enhance spectral accuracy,further refinements were undertaken by matching the grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity data with actual structural parameters.X-ray reflectivity measurements from the SSRF synchrotron radiation facility on the optimized sample showed a reflectivity of 29.7±2.6%,flat-band range of 1.3 keV,and bandwidth of 1.7 keV,making it suitable for high-temperature plasma *** study explored the potential of predicting the 9.67 keV reflectivity spectrum using the fitting data from the grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity curves at 8.05 ***,the short-term thermal stability of an aperiodic multilayer was assessed using temperature-dependent in situ X-ray *** in the reflectivity spectrum during annealing were attributed to interdiffusion and interfacial *** research team recommends the aperiodic Mo/B_(4)C multilayer mirror for operations below 300℃.

Isothermal reduction kinetics and reduction prediction for iron ore pellets

Iron ore pellets,as one of the main charges of blast furnaces,have a greater impact on the CO_(2)emission reduction and stable operation of blast *** isothermal reduction behavior of the pellets obtained from a Chinese steel plant was studied in the gas mixtures of CO and N_(2).The results showed the reduction process is divided into two *** reduction in the initial stage(time t≤40 min)is cooperatively controlled by internal diffusion and interface chemical reactions with the activation energy of 30.19 and 16.67 kJ/mol,*** controlling step of the reduction in the final stage(t>40 min)is internal diffusion with the activation energy of 34.60 kJ/*** reduction process can be described by two equations obtained from kinetic *** reduction degree can be predicted under different temperatures and time,and the predicted results showed an excellent correlation with the experimental *** reduction mechanisms were confirmed by the analysis of the scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometer and optical microscope.

Hair coloring has emerged as an integral part of the cosmetic industry,particularly in response to the increasing global aging *** natural melanin analog,polydopamine(PDA),has garnered considerable attention as an eco-friendly hair dye,and several kinds of polymerization ways of dopamine(DA)have been proposed including alkali catalysis,metal ion catalysis,strong oxidants,and enzyme-mediated oxidation reactions and *** the controllability of polymerization and potential toxicity of involved metal ions are still in *** by the photoprotective mechanism in human skin,we have developed the melanin-inspired hair dyeing strategy that allowed for the in situ oxidative polymerization of DA under ultraviolet(UV)*** polymerization was triggered by photobase generators(PBGs),a class of compounds that produced organic bases upon UV and sunlight *** resulting hair showed an adjustable color from light brown to black by tuning the ratio of DA and PBG(DA@PBG),the concentration of DA,and light exposure *** dyed hairs showed excellent washing resistance and superior anti-static ***,Hair Color Spray DA@PBG also demonstrated a desirable hair dyeing effect and excellent biosecurity by simply spraying it on the hair under *** novel sunlight-induced method provided a new direction towards the preparation of natural hair dyes and could promote the development of green and safe hair dyes in colorful and brilliant artistic-grade hair coloring.

lncRNA SNHG4 enhanced gastric cancer progression by modulating miR-409-3p/CREB1 axis

Objective:Gastric cancer(GC)is a globally common cancer characterized by high incidence and mortality *** in the molecular understanding of GC provide promising targets for GC diagnosis and *** non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)and their downstream regulators are regarded to be implicated in the progression of multiple types of *** have shown that the lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 4(SNHG4)serves as a tumor promoter in various malignancies,while its function in GC has yet to be ***,our study aimed to explore the role and underlying mechanism of SNHG4 in ***:We used qRT-PCR to analyze SNHG4 expression in GC tissues and ***-Meier analysis was used to assess the correlation between SNHG4 expression and the survival rate of GC *** function experiments such as CCK-8,BrdU,colony formation,flow cytometry analysis,and transwell were performed to explore the effects of SNHG4 on GC cell proliferation,apoptosis,cell cycle,migration,and *** also established xenograft mouse models to explore the effect of SNHG4 on GC tumor ***,dual luciferase reporter assay was used to verify the interaction between SNHG4 and miR-409-3p and between miR-409-3p and cAMP responsive element binding protein 1(CREB1).Results:The results indicated that SNHG4 was overexpressed in GC tissues and cell lines,and was linked with poor survival rate of GC ***4 promoted GC cell proliferation,migration,and invasion while inhibiting cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in *** in vivo experiment indicated that SNHG4 facilitated GC tumor ***,SNHG4 was demonstrated to bind to ***,CREB1 was directly targeted by *** assays demonstrated that miR-409-3p deficiency reversed the suppressive impact of SNHG4 knockdown on GC cell ***,miR-409-3p was also revealed to inhibit GC cell proliferation,migration,and invasion by targeting CREB1

Multiple liver metastases of unknown origin:A case report

BACKGROUND The liver is the most common site of digestive system tumor metastasis,but not all liver metastases can be traced back to the primary *** it is unusual,syphilis can impact the liver,manifesting as syphilitic hepatitis with inflammatory nodules,which might be misdiagnosed as *** SUMMARY This case report involves a 46-year-old female who developed right upper abdominal pain and intermittent low fever that persisted for more than three *** definitive diagnosis of a tumor had been made in the past decades,but signs of multiple liver metastases were recognized after a computed tomo-graphy scan without evidence of primary *** positive serological tests for syphilis and a biopsy of the liver nodules,a diagnosis of hepatic syphilis was made and confirmed with follow-up nodule reduction after anti-syphilis *** Clinicians must be aware of the possibility that syphilis can cause hepatic inflam-matory masses,especially when liver metastasis is suspected without evidence of primary lesions.A definitive diagnosis should be established in conjunction with a review of the patient’s medical history for accurate therapeutic intervention.

Improved oxygen electrocatalysis at Fe N4 and Co N4 sites via construction of axial coordination

The quest for efficient and durable catalysts using abundant resources has garnered significant interest in the field of bifunctional oxygen *** this contribution,we have designed a FeN4or CoN4embedded graphene-based bilayer as active layer and TMC3or TMN3doped graphene as supporting layer,named as FeN4/TMC3or FeN4/TMN3and CoN4/TMC3or CoN4/TMN3,wherein TM strands for transition *** on density functional theory calculations,our results demonstrate that the interaction formed between dual metal atoms in the bilayer interspace leads to the coordination environment altered from flat four-coordination to spatial five-coordination,further stabilizing the bilayer structure and impairing its affinity toward the O-containing *** to thermodynamic analysis,the bilayers of CoN4/CoN3,FeN4/FeC3,FeN4/CoC3,FeN4/NiC3,FeN4/ZnC3,FeN4/FeN3,FeN4/CrN3and FeN4/ZnN3are attractively promising for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis due to the small overpotential differenceΔη between oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution that are less than 1 *** functional theory calculations combined with machine learning analysis directly identify the key role played by the interbinding formed between bilayers,that boosts catalytic activity,which establishes a predictable framework for a fast screen for graphene-based bilayer vertical *** work opens up a new path for designing the efficient electrocatalysts via modification of coordination environment.

Fabrication of Ni-Zn spinel ferrite with superior magnetic performance from electric arc furnace dust and iron scale

The Ni-ZnFe_(2)O_(4)(NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4),x=0.4-0.7)spinel was synthesized using Zn2+extracted from electric arc furnace dust(EAFD),nickel chloride hexahydrate,and Fe^(3+)extracted from iron scale as raw *** zinc was selectively extracted from EAFD using CaO roasting followed by NH_(4)Cl solution *** ferric ion was leached from iron scale using HCl solution as acid *** experimental results demonstrate a high level of efficiency in the extraction of zinc,with a rate of 97.5%,and the leaching rate of ferric ion is 96.89%.The composition of the leaching solution is primary zinc and iron with low calcium,which is beneficial to the preparation of spinel *** influence of Ni content(x)and calcination temperature on the synthesis and magnetic properties of NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)compounds was investigated by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and vibrating sample *** results revealed that both Ni content and calcination temperature significantly affect the synthesis and magnetic properties of spinel NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4).Under the conditions of Ni content set at x=0.6,calcination temperature of 1100℃,and a duration of 2 h,a spinel NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)with high saturation magnetization(Ms=65.7 A m2 kg-1)and low coercivity(Hc=0.056 A m^(-1))was obtained.

New insight into the origin and evolution of the flora and fauna of Hainan Island,China

The origin of the biota of Hainan Island,China,remains a fundamental scientific *** studies on the biota,geological tectonics,and paleomagnetism proposed that during the Eocene,Hainan Island connected Vietnam and Guangxi,and then moved to the southeast to reach its present *** review mainly discusses its biota origin from molecular phylogeny and palaeobotanical *** formation and evolution of the biological groups of Hainan Island were identified via research on their genomes,phylogeny,and molecular *** research showed that the genera and species that appeared and diverged early in their evolution(i.e.,before the Miocene)can be explained by the land connection between Hainan Island,Vietnam,and Guangxi during the *** to Southeast Asian tectonic theory,in the Middle Miocene(at about 15 million years ago),Hainan Island had moved to its present *** population and genetic divergence of species with late divergence times(after 15 Ma)can be reasonably explained by the close proximity(or land connection)between Hainan Island and the Leizhou Peninsula,enabling genetic communication between Hainan Island and the Chinese mainland,but have exceptional *** have been obtained through palaeobotanical studies,showing that in the Eocene-Oligocene period,southwest China and Hainan Island had subtropical vegetation and ***,the fossil group in southeast China(in Maoming,near present-day Hainan Island)in the Late Eocene indicated a tropical rainforest vegetation and *** suggests that in the Paleogene,Hainan Island may have been located near or on the southwest border of Guangxi and northern Vietnam,rather than in its present *** floristic division of the flora of Hainan Island basically presents a northeast-southwest inclined distribution *** pattern can be explained by the counterclockwise rotation of Hainan Island during its movement to the southeast as prop
