Th. meth.d of drilling and blasting with.explosives is widely used in rock fragmentation applications in th. mining industry for mine development and ore ***,th. use of explosives is associated with.rigorous safety and environmental constraints as blasting creates toxic fumes,ground vibrations,and *** study is focused on th. use of Soundless Ch.mical Demolition Agents(SCDA)as a more environmentally friendly meth.d for rock breakage and a potential replacement of *** th.s paper,th. results of a series of experimental tests are reported to identify th. efect of SCDA on h.rd rock breakage under no load and under uniaxial loading *** granite prismatic specimens of 152.4 mm(6″)×152.4–203.2 mm(6–8″)×406.4 mm(16″)are used to test th. infuence of boreh.le size on th. time to fracturing with.SCDA boreh.le size of 25.4 mm(1″),31.75 mm(1.25″)and 38.1 mm(1.5″).It is sh.wn th.t th. fracturing time decreases with.increasing boreh.le *** is also sh.wn th.t specimens subjected to uniaxial compression of 5 MPa fracture as early as 7 h.after SCDA mixing.A boreh.le spacing to boreh.le diameter ratio of 12.8 to 14.6 is suggested for practical applications.

BACKGROUND Th. anorectal leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is an aggressive malignant neoplasm. Owing to th. rarity of LMSs, an optimal treatment modality h.s yet to be determined. AIM To collect all publish.d data on anorectal LMS ch.racteristics, explore current treatment options, and review recent cases of postradiation LMS. METh.DS A literature search.of th. PubMed electronic database was conducted using th. MeSh.terms "rectal neoplasms","anus neoplasms" and "gastrointestinal neoplasms" combined with."leiomyosarcoma". Th. search.was limited to English.language and h.man studies. All available case reports and case series of anal or rectal LMSs th.t were publish.d from th. beginning of January 1996 to May 2017 were included if th. diagnosis of LMS h.d been confirmed by h.stopath.logic examination. Data were analyzed using simple statistics (mean, median, and standard deviation). Independent sample t-test was used to compare means for continuous variables. RESULTS A total of 27 articles reporting on 51 cases of anorectal LMS were identified. Among th.se cases, 11.7% h.d undergone previous pelvic radioth.rapy (developing LMS at 13-35 years afterwards). Anorectal LMS affected th. rectum in 92.2% of th. cases, and no sex-based predominance was observed. Surgical resection with.negative margins remains th. mainstay of treatment, wh.ch.can be accomplish.d with.wide local excision or radical resection. Th. local recurrence rate was h.gh.r among cases wh. received wide local excision (30%), as compared to radical resection (20%);h.wever, th. overall rate of metastasis was 51.61% regardless of th. treatment approach. Th. use of neoadjuvant radiation lowers th. risk of local recurrence compared to adjuvant radioth.rapy, and facilitates R0 resection of th. tumor. Cases treated with.adjuvant ch.moth.rapy sh.wed better rates of distant recurrence and overall survival. In th. present work, we propose to numerically study a combined turbulent wall and offset jet flow(th.s combination will be denoted WOJ). Several turbulence models were tested in th.s study: th. standard k-w, SST k-w, standard k-ε, RNG, and realizable k-ε model. A parametric study was performed to determine th. effect of offset ratio h.and th. velocity ratio r on th. longitudinal and transverse positions of th. merge point(MP), th. combined point(CP), th. upper vortex center(UVC) and th. lower vortex center(LVC). Correlations th.t predict th. position of th.se ch.racteristic points of th. WOJ flow as a function of h.and r h.ve been provided. Results sh.w th.t any increase in th. velocity ratio causes a displacement of th. MP, CP, UVC and LVC furth.r upstream along th. longitudinal direction. Concerning th. transverse positions, th. increase of velocity ratio results in a deviation of th. merge point(MP) and th. lower vortex center(LVC) toward th. strong jet(LWJ) wh.reas th. transverse position of combined point(CP) and th. upper vortex center(UVC) is almost independent of th. velocity ratio.

We report a case of combined h.nd trauma in th. form of circumferential degloving injury of th. h.nd with.full th.ckness friction burns of th. h.nd, forearm and th. distal part of th. upper arm. On exploration th. h.nd was found avascular with.loss of vital structures and full th.ckness burns. As a salvage procedure th. h.nd was embedded in th. subcutaneous tissue of th. abdomen for 4 weeks and after th.t elevated as an inferiorly based flap on th. bilateral superficial inferior epigastric arteries. Two weeks later th. h.nd was freed by division of th. base of th. flap bilaterally. Th. details and description of th. injury, th. procedure and th. outcome are discussed.

Background:Th.re is an ongoing debate on th. feasibility,safety,and oncological efficacy of th. associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged h.patectomy(ALPPS)*** aim of th.s study was to compare ALPPS,two-staged h.patectomy(TSh.,and portal vein embolization(PVE)/ligation(PVL)using updated traditional meta-analysis and network meta-analysis(NMA).Data sources:Electronic databases were used in a systematic literature *** traditional metaanalysis and NMA were performed and *** and major morbidity were selected as primary ***:Nineteen studies including 1200 patients were selected from th. pool of 436 *** th.se patients,315(31%)and 702(69%)underwent ALPPS and portal vein occlusion(PVO),*** mortality based on updated traditional meta-analysis,subgroup analysis of th. randomized controlled trials(RCTs),and both.Bayesian and frequentist NMA did not demonstrate significant differences between th. Vocal divergence with.n species often corresponds to morph.logical, environmental, and genetic differences between populations. Wolf h.wls are long-range signals th.t encode individual, group, and subspecies differences, yet th. factors th.t may drive th.s variation are poorly understood. Furth.rmore, th. taxonomic division with.n th. Canis genus remains contended and additional data are required to clarify th. position of th. h.malayan, North.African, and Indian wolves with.n Canis lupus. We recorded 451 h.wls from th. 3 most basal wolf lineages-h.malayan C. lupus ch.nco-h.malayan h.plotype, North.African C. lupus lupaster, and Indian C. lupus pallipes wolves-and present a h.wl acoustic description with.n each.clade. With.an additional 619 h.wls from 7 h.larctic subspecies, we used a random forest classifier and principal component analysis on 9 acoustic parameters to assess wh.th.r h.malayan, North.African, and Indian wolf h.wls ex- h.bit acoustic differences compared to each.oth.r and h.larctic wolf h.wls. Generally, both.th. North.African and Indian wolf h.wls exh.bited h.gh.mean fundamental frequency （F0） and sh.rt duration compared to th. h.larctic clade. In contrast, th. h.malayan wolf h.wls typically h.d lower mean F0, unmodulated frequencies, and sh.rt h.wls compared to h.larctic wolf h.wls. Th. h.malayan and North.African wolves h.d th. most acoustically distinct h.wls and differed significantly from each.oth.r and to th. h.larctic wolves. Along with.th. influence of body size and environmental differences, th.se results suggest th.t genetic divergence and/or geograph.c distance may play an important role in understanding h.wl variation across subspecies.

Th. magnetic property in a material is induced by th. unpaired electrons. Th.s can occur due to defect states wh.ch.can enh.nce th. magnetic moment and th. spin polarization. In th.s report, CdS and CdTe th.n films are grown on FTO glass substrates by ch.mical bath.deposition and close-spaced sublimation, respectively. Th. magnetic properties, wh.ch.are introduced from oxygen states, are found in CdS and CdTe th.n films. From th. h.steresis loop of magnetic moment it is revealed th.t CdS and CdTe th.n films h.ve different kinds of magnetic moments at different temperatures. Th. M–h.curves indicate th.t from 100 K to 350 K, CdS and CdTe th.n films sh.w paramagnetism and diamagnetism, respectively.A superparamagnetic or a weakly ferromagnetic response is found at 5 K. It is also observed from ZFC/FC curves th.t magnetic moments decrease with.temperature increasing. Spin polarized density functional calculation for spin magnetic moment is also carried out.
