PVC was subjected to a chemical modification aiming at replacing the chlorine atoms by pyridine groups via a homolytic route. Pyridine groups were peculiarly affixed to the PVC matrix via a carbon-carbon bond rather than a carbonnitrogen one. PVC was first iodinated using the Conant-Finkelstein reaction, followed by the application of the homolytic conditions of Minisci to generate pyridinated PVC with a varying degree of substitution. The extent of substitution was not high; the reaction on 30% iodinated PVC afforded a degree of modification no greater than 3%.

Transhumant pastoralism is an important activity in southern Morocco. Migration pattern of transhumant pastoralists can be affected by physical factors (e.g. droughts and diseases) or socioeconomic factors (e.g. schooling options for children and migration costs). We studied the spatio-temporal rangeland usage of the three tribes Ait Mgoun, Ait Zekri, and Ait Toumert in the south-central Atlas region with a two-fold approach. First, we tracked the migration movements of one representative transhumant herd using the Advanced Research and Global Observation Satellite (ARGOS) collars, which record coordinates from satellite signals. Second, we interviewed herders to obtain information about general grazing practices of the respective tribe and to gain more direct information on motivations underlying decisions. For each tribe we observed small-, medium- and large-scale movements. We found that the most important drivers of migration decisions were seasonal fodder availability and weather conditions in combination with herd-specific risk and cost assessment, as well as personal factors. In conclusion, general migration patterns vary in time, both between and within the tribes, but according to a regulatory framework. Moreover, it appears that both the customary rules and its flexible adaptation to physical constraints are generally beneficial in terms of conservation of the arid and semiarid rangeland resources.

In the present case,we propose the novel generalized fractional integral operator describing Mittag-Leffler function in their kernel with respect to another function Φ.The proposed technique is to use graceful amalgamations of the Riemann-Liouville(RL)fractional integral operator and several other fractional ***,several generalizations are considered in order to demonstrate the novel variants involving a family of positive functions n(n∈N)for the proposed fractional *** order to confirm and demonstrate the proficiency of the characterized strategy,we analyze existing fractional integral operators in terms of classical fractional ***,some special cases are apprehended and the new outcomes are also *** obtained consequences illuminate that future research is easy to implement,profoundly efficient,viable,and exceptionally precise in its investigation of the behavior of non-linear differential equations of fractional order that emerge in the associated areas of science and engineering.

The need for long-term treatments of chronic diseases has motivated the widespread development of long-acting parenteral formulations(LAPFs)with the aim of improving drug pharmacokinetics and therapeutic *** have been proven to extend the half-life of therapeutics,as well as to improve patient adherence;consequently,this enhances the outcome of therapy *** past decades,considerable progress has been made in designing effective LAPFs in both preclinical and clinical *** we review the latest advances of LAPFs in preclinical and clinical stages,focusing on the strategies and underlying mechanisms for achieving long *** strategies are classified into manipulation of in vivo clearance and manipulation of drug release from delivery systems,*** the current challenges and prospects of each strategy are *** addition,we also briefly discuss the design principles of LAPFs and provide future perspectives of the rational design of more effective LAPFs for their further clinical translation.

The debate regarding the usage of domestic currency versus dollarizing an economy is still robust in many developing *** an economy commonly entails dollarizing bank deposits and loans,transacting in dollars and tagging prices of goods and services in *** paper’s main focus is dollarization and currency devaluation;of which such are yet unresolved both theoretically and *** articles and journals have shed some light on the effects of dollarization being lower inflation rate,price instability in the local market and insignificant economic growth but only focusing on the Latin American and Asian *** shed light upon this matter,this paper is focused on African economies,specifically Tanzania,where commercial banks have the power to open foreign currency deposit accounts for any account holder,giving them the freedom to hold foreign currency and pay in foreign *** monthly nominal exchange rate data for the study period 2000-2014,we introduced GARCH models to examine the relationship between dollarization and exchange *** Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity models indicate that dollarization does indeed induce currency depreciation as well as exchange rate *** on the findings and conclusions from other literature,this paper also proposes measures on how the country can prevent or offset the negative impacts of dollarization.

Brick kiln is well known as one of the main sources of air pollution;however,the pollutants produced from it do not remain in the air,they ultimately fall down to the soil and pollute the surroundings,therefore,this study was carried out to assess the status of macro(N,P,K and S)and micro nutrients(Fe,Mn and Zn,Cu)in the agricultural environment near the brick kilns of Young Brahmaputra and Jamuna Floodplain *** soil and plant samples were collected from four distances such as 250 m,500 m,1000 m,and 1500 m in three different ***(2352-3378 mg kg^-1),Zn(86-156 mg kg^-1)and Cu(24.7-46.9 mg kg^-1)are found in the elevated levels near brick kiln soils that is released due to burning of poor quality coal and fire *** alarming news is that plant uptake of S and micro nutrients in the nearest areas of the brick kilns are significantly higher than the areas far from the brick production and their concentration ranges from 23 mg kg^-1 to 101 mg kg^-1 for Zn,10-41 mg kg^-1 for Cu,35-1309 mg kg^-1 for Fe,26-126 mg kg^-1 for Mn and 2590-mg kg^-1 for *** indicates both soil and plant received maximum amount of micronutrients and S concentrations within 500-1000 m distances from brick *** and Mn concentrations vary within a permissible limit but the plant uptake is *** concentrations is increasing with the distance from the brick kilns in both soils and plants but no definite pattern of P and K accumulation was *** suggested avoiding agricultural practice nearby brick kiln soils due to micronutrient contamination in order to preserve adjoined agricultural environment.

The in-soil biodegradation of Stipa tenacissima(alfa)leaves was ***-linear mechanical testing was performed at various biodegradation *** strength,loading and unloading Young’s moduli and dissipation energy decreased with the burial time,whereas plasticity ***-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)showed that the fracture cracks propagated in the longitudinal direction in the raw material,resulting in a fracture mode consisting of a mixture of middle lamella delamination and fiber *** contrast,the cracks were perpendicular to the stem axis in the biodegraded material,demonstrating an important strength loss of the load-bearing *** strength loss was correlated with rapid cellulose degradation.A novel X-ray diffraction(XRD)model was implemented in order to take into account anisotropic size *** the first time,XRD demonstrated the action of biodegradation on unrefined plant tissues under quasi in-situ *** induced a progressive loss of crystalline cellulose accompanied with anisotropic crystallite thinning.
