Background:The traditional Chinese medicine NiuBeiXiaoHe(NBXH)extract and Chinese medicine preparation JieHeWan(JHW)exhibit anti-tuberculosis(TB)*** anti-TB effect of NBXH was compared with that of JHW to elucidate the mechanism of action of ***:BALB/c mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into a normal control group,TB model group,JHW treatment group,and NBXH treatment *** 3 and 13 weeks of treatment,the therapeutic effect in each group was evaluated by comparing lung histopathology,lung and liver colony counts,the number of spots representing effector T cells secreting IFN-γin an enzyme-linked immunospot assay(ELISPOT),and the levels of Th1,Th2,and Th17 cytokines,which were measured by a cytometric bead array(CBA).Mouse RNA samples were subjected to transcriptome ***:After 13 weeks of treatment,the mean histopathological lesion area of the NBXH group was significantly smaller than that of the TB model group(P<0.05).Compared with those in the TB model group,the lung colony counts in the JHW and NBXH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the IL-2 and IL-4 levels in the NBXH group were significantly increased(P<0.05).NBXH partly restored significant changes in gene expression caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis(***)*** to GO and KEGG analyses,the changes in biological process(BP),cell composition(CC)and molecular function(MF)terms and in signaling pathways caused by NBXH and JHW treatment were not completely consistent,but they were mainly related to the immune response and inflammatory response in the mouse TB ***:NBXH had therapeutic effects similar to those of JHW in improving lung histopathology,reducing lung colony counts,and regulating the levels of *** restored significant changes in gene expression and repaired cell damage caused by *** infection by regulating immune-related pathways,which clarified the mechanism of action of NBXH.

Based on the long wave limit method,the general form of the second-order and third-order rogue wave solutions to the focusing nonlinear Schr?dinger equation are given by introducing some arbitrary *** interaction solutions between the first-order rogue wave and one-breather wave are constructed by taking a long wave limit on the two-breather *** applying the same method to the three-breather solutions,two types of interaction solutions are obtained,namely the first-order rogue wave and two breather waves,the second-order rogue wave and one-breather wave,*** influence of the parameters related to the phase on the interaction phenomena is graphically *** occur among the rogue waves and breather *** the collisions,the shape of them remains *** abundant interaction phenomena in this paper will contribute to a better understanding of the propagation and control of nonlinear waves.

Prevalence of Cannabis Use around the World:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis,2000-2024

This study aims to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on the global prevalence of cannabis use to inform drug prevention strategies,policy-making,and resource *** study initially screened 177,843 studies published between January 1,2000,and January 15,2024,using peer-reviewed databases including Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus,Embase,and Cochrane ***,595 studies were identified for data extraction,and 39 of these were selected as country-representative *** among the selected studies was assessed using the chi-squared test and I2 statistic,while sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the robustness of the *** prevalence of cannabis use varied between 0.42%and 43.90%across 33 European countries,1.40%to 38.12%across 15 North and South American countries,0.30%to 19.10%across 16 Asian countries,and 1.30%to 48.70%across 18 Oceania and African *** pooled prevalence of cannabis use was 12.0%[95%confidence interval(CI):10.0,14.3]in countries where cannabis is legalized,compared to 5.4%(95%CI:4.3,6.9)in non-legalized *** findings indicate that the prevalence of cannabis use has disproportionately increased in most countries with the implementation of medical or recreational cannabis legalization policies and relevant geographic *** efforts are needed to monitor newly cannabis-legalized countries and prevent initial use.

Optimizing multistage processes,such as distillation or absorption,is a complex mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP)*** integer into continuous variables and solving the easier nonlinear programming(NLP)problem is an optimization idea for the multistage *** this article,we propose a relaxation method based on the efficiency *** the efficiency parameter is 1or 0,the proposed model is equivalent to the complete existence or inexistence of the equilibrium *** non-integer efficiency represents partial existence.A multi-component absorption case shows a natural penalty for non-integer efficiency,which can assist the efficiency parameter converging to 0 or ***,its penalty is weaker than the existing relaxation models,such as the bypass efficiency *** a simple distillation case,we show that this property can weaken the nonconvexity of the optimization problem and increase the probability of obtaining better optimization results.

Laser pulse multiplication from an optical gain medium has shown great potential in miniaturizing integrated optoelectronic *** multiple quantum wells(MQWs)structures have recently been recognized as an effective gain media capable of doubling laser pulses that do not rely on external optical *** the light amplifications enabled with pulse doubling are reported based on the perovskite MQWs thin films,the micronanolasers possessed a specific cavity for laser pulse multiplication and their corresponding intrinsic laser dynamics are still ***,a single-mode double-pulsed nanolaser from self-assembled perovskite MQWs nanowires is realized,exhibiting a pulse duration of 28 ps and pulse interval of 22 ps based on single femtosecond laser pulse *** is established that the continuous energy building up within a certain timescale is essential for the multiple population inversion in the gain medium,which arises from the slowing carrier localization process owning to the stronger exciton–phonon coupling in the smaller-n ***,the double-pulsed lasing is achieved from one fast energy funnel process from the adjacent small-n QWs to gain active region and another slow process from the spatially separated *** report may shed new light on the intrinsic energy relaxation mechanism and boost the further development of perovskite multiple-pulse lasers.

Effects of combustion temperature on the optical properties of brown carbon from biomass burning

Biomass burning has been known as one of main sources of Brown Carbon(BrC)in *** this study,by controlling the combustion temperature at 250℃,350℃,and 450℃,the methanol soluble organic carbon(MSOC)and methanol insoluble carbon(MISC)from pine wood burning was collected by ***–Vis,excitation emission matrix(EEM),TEM and FTIR spectra were applied to investigate the properties of BrC *** MSOC at 250℃ and 350℃,all the spectral profiles of UV–Vis absorption and excitation emission matrix are almost the same,while the EEM of MSOC at 450℃ are different from that of the other *** MISC fuorescence was observed only in the case of 450℃.In the FTIR spectra,with the temperature increasing the peaks associated to the oxygen-contained functions was weakened,indicating the formation of the fuorophores with larger conjugated system,especially aromatic *** results show that biomass combustion at low temperature produces more oxygen-riched BrC,which possesses relatively lower light absorption,while at high temperature produces more aromatics hydrocarbons with relatively strong light *** results of this work are helpful to trace the source of brown carbon and optimize biomass energy utilization.

Impact of frailty on postoperative outcomes after hepatectomy:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND The impact of frailty on postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing hepatectomy is still *** To study the influence of frailty on postoperative outcomes,such as mortality,rate of complications,and length of hospitalization,following *** PubMed,EMBASE,and Scopus databases were searched for observational studies with adult(≥18 years)patients after planned/elective hepatectomy.A randomeffects model was used for all analyses,and the results are expressed as weighted mean difference(WMD),relative risk(RR),or hazards ratio(HR)with 95%confidence interval(CI).RESULTS Analysis of the 13 included studies showed a significant association of frailty with elevated risk of in-hospital mortality(RR=2.76,95%CI:2.10-3.64),mortality at 30 d(RR=4.60,95%CI:1.85-11.40),and mortality at 90 d(RR=2.52,95%CI:1.70-3.75)in the postoperative *** patients had a poorer long-term survival(HR=2.89,95%CI:1.84-4.53)and higher incidence of“any”complications(RR=1.69,95%CI:1.40-2.03)and major(grade III or higher on the Clavien-Dindo scale)complications(RR=2.69,95%CI:1.85-3.92).Frailty was correlated with markedly lengthier hospital stay(WMD=3.65,95%CI:1.45-5.85).CONCLUSION Frailty correlates with elevated risks of mortality,complications,and prolonged hospitalization,which need to be considered in surgical *** research is essential to formulate strategies for improved outcomes in this vulnerable cohort.

Bisphenol F epoxy resin(EP)is often used in terminal current lead insulation of superconducting equipment because of its good insulation performance,high mechanical strength,good toughness at cryogenic temperatures,and resistance to cold shock and heat ***,due to the wide temperature range of 80–300 K and the strong electric field,the EP-N_(2)interface is prone to surface flashover,resulting in terminal insulation *** improve the reliability of the current lead insulation,non-linear conductive EP/strontium titanate(SrTiO_(3))composites were prepared by modification with nano *** changes of dielectric,surface discharge,flashover,and trap distribution characteristics of composite materials were studied,and the mechanism of SrTiO_(3)on the surface flashover of composite materials was *** results show that the conductivity of the composite increases with the rise of SrTiO_(3)filling content,and the amplitude of improvement is greater under the strong electric field,showing a more significant *** composite has a lower trap energy level and a greater number of shallow traps compared to pure EP,which accelerates surface charge detrapping and reduces charge accumulation,effectively enhancing the discharge and surface flashover voltage of the composite.

To better characterize the properties of surface-initiated polymers, simultaneous bulk-and surface-initiated polymerizations are usually carried out by assuming that the properties of the surface-initiated polymers resemble those of the bulk-initiated polymers. Through a Monte Carlo simulation using a heterogeneous stochastic reaction model, it was discovered that the bulk-initiated polymers exhibit a higher molecular weight and a lower dispersity than the corresponding surface-initiated polymers, which indicates that the equivalent assumption is invalid. Furthermore, the molecular weight distributions of the two types of polymers are also different, suggesting different polymerization mechanisms. The results can be simply explained by the heterogeneous distributions of reactants in the system. This study is helpful to better understand surface-initiated polymerization.

Numerical Simulation of the Mass Movement Process of the 2018 Sedongpu Glacial Debris Flow by Using the Fluid-Solid Coupling Method

In the context of global warming and intensified human activities,glacier instability in plateau regions has increased,and glacier debris flows have become active,which poses a significant threat to the lives and property of people and socioeconomic *** mass movement process of glacier debris flows is extremely complex,so this paper uses the 2018 Sedongpu glacier debris flow event on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as an example and applies a numerical simulation method to invert the whole process of mass *** view of the interaction between phases in the process of motion,we use the fluid-solid coupling method to describe the mass *** granular-flow model and drift-flux model are employed in FLOW3D software to study the mass movement process of glacier debris flows and explore their dynamic *** results indicate that the glacier debris flow lasted for 700 s,and the movement process was roughly divided into four stages,including initiation,scraping,surging and deposition;the depositional characteristics calculated by the fluid-solid coupling model are consistent with the actual survey results and have good reliability;strong erosion occurs during the mass movement,the clear volume amplification effect,and the first wave climbs 17.8 m across the *** fluid-solid coupling method can better simulate glacier debris flows in plateau regions,which is helpful for the study of the mechanism and dynamic characteristics of such disasters.
