Recently, the nanotechnology industry has seen a growing interest in integrating silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) into agricultural products, which increases soil exposure to these particles. This demands an investigation into the effect of AgNPs on soil health. Changes in soil enzyme activities upon exposure to AgNPs can serve as early indicators of any adverse effects that these particles may have on soil quality. This study aimed to determine the effects of AgNP size, concentration, coating, and exposure time on the activities of two sulfur cycle enzymes, arylsulfatase and sulfite oxidase. To investigate the sensitivity of soil enzyme activity to AgNP contamination, silt loam soil samples were treated with 30, 80, and 200 nm-sized AgNPs coated with citrate, lipoic acid,and polyvinylpyrrolidone at 1, 10, and 100 mg Ag kgsoil, with the changes in enzyme activities monitored at 3 h, 3 d, and 30 d after treatment. For comparison, the effects of silver(Ag) ions on the enzyme activities were studied under similar treatment conditions. For most of the concentrations tested, the inhibitory effects of AgNPs on different enzymes differed, with a much stronger effect on sulfite oxidase activity than on arylsulfatase activity. The AgNP concentration and exposure time played much important roles than coating type and particle size in the effects of AgNPs on soil enzyme activities.

Heracleum persicum Desf. ex Fisch is used in Iranian traditional medicines, for the treatment of various diseases including neurological, gastrointestinal, respiratory, rheumatological and urinary tract diseases. In phytochemical analysis of H. persicum, several classes of natural chemicals including volatile （aliphatic esters, carbonyls, phenyl propenes and terpenes） and nonvolatile （flavonoids, furanocoumarins, tannins and alkaloids） constituents as well as different minerals have been identified. Scientific studies on H. persicum proved that it has a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities. This article has provided comprehensive information on Iranian traditional uses, phytochemistry and pharmacolog- ical activities of H. persicum.

The Noorabad-Harsin ophiolite is a part of the eastern Mediterranean-Zagros-Oman Tethyan ophiolites. This area is located in the south-southwest of the main Zagros thrust zone. This ophiolite consists of peridotites, serpentinites and pegmatite gabbros as mantle sequence whereas crustal sequence is composed of locally layered gabbros, isotropic gabbros, sheeted dike complex, basaltic to andesitic lavas and sedimentary rocks （radiolarites and Late Cretaceous pelagic limes- tones）. The diabase dikes are enriched in LREE relative to HREE （La（n）/Yb（n）=1.7-3.3）. Also, the andesites are enriched in LREE relative to HREE （La（n）/Yb（n）=3.1-5.37） and the pillow lavas are enriched in LILE （Th（n）/La（n）=2.1） while show a depletion in HFSE （Nb（n）/La（n）=0.07-0.2）. The basaltic-andesitic lavas exhibiting mainly calc-alkaline, with minor island-arc tholeiitic affinities, are characterized by enrichment in LILE and LREE and depletion in HFSE. These geochemical characteristics compared with other Tethyan ophiolites along the Bitlis-Zagros suture zone reveal a supra- subduction zone environment for the genesis of the Noorabad-Harsin ophiolites.

Asphaltenes have always been an attractive subject for ***,the application of this fraction of the geochemical field has only been studied in a limited *** other words,despite many studies on asphaltene structure,the application of asphaltene structures in organic geochemistry has not so far been ***-oil correlation is a wellknown concept in geochemical studies and plays a vital role in basin modeling and the reconstruction of the burial history of basin sediments,as well as accurate characterization of the relevant petroleum *** study aims to propose the Xray diffraction(XRD)technique as a novel method for oil-oil correlation and investigate its reliability and accuracy for different crude *** this end,13 crude oil samples from the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf region,which had previously been correlated by traditional geochemical tools such as biomarker ratios and isotope values,in four distinct genetic groups,were selected and their asphaltene fractions analyzed by two prevalent methods of XRD and Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).For oil-oil correlation assessment,various cross-plots,as well as principal component analysis(PCA),were conducted,based on the structural parameters of the studied *** results indicate that asphaltene structural parameters can also be used for oil-oil correlation purposes,their results being completely in accord with the previous *** average values of distance between saturated portions(d_(r))and the distance between two aromatic layers(d_(m))of asphaltene molecules belonging to the studied oil samples are 4.69Aand 3.54A,***,the average diameter of the aromatic sheets(L_(a)),the height of the clusters(L_(c)),the number of carbons per aromatic unit(C_(au)),the number of aromatic rings per layer(R_(a)),the number of sheets in the cluster(M_(e))and aromaticity(f_(a))values of these asphaltene samples are 10.09A,34.04A,17.42A,3.78A,10.6

In the present work, an easy solid phase extraction method using alumina modified with polyethylenimine as a new adsorbent was applied to the simultaneous extraction of copper, silver, and palladium ions prior to their determination with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. The analytical procedure involved the complex formation of these cations with polyethylenimine as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 7.0. Under the optimum conditions, a preconcentration factor of 200, 150, and 200, precision of ~5.4%, ＋4.7%, and ＋5.2% and linear calibration ranges of 15.0-140, 4.0-93, and 7.5-125 ng/L （in original solution） for Cu, Ag, and Pd were obtained, respectively. Also detection limits of 3.9,1.1, and 2.0 ng/L were obtained for Cu, Ag, and Pd, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of copper, silver, and palladium in some real samples with satisfactory results.

An extensive study of Fischer-Tropsch （FT） synthesis on cobalt nano particles supported on γ-alumina and carbon nanotubes （CNTs） catalysts is reported.20 wt% of cobalt is loaded on the supports by impregnation *** deactivation of the two catalysts was studied at 220 C,2 MPa and 2.7 L/h feed flow rate using a fixed bed *** calcined fresh and used catalysts were characterized extensively and different sources of catalyst deactivation were *** of cobalt-support mixed oxides in the form of xCoO yAl2O3 and cobalt aluminates formation were the main sources of the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst *** sintering and cluster growth of cobalt nano particles are the main sources of the Co/CNTs catalyst *** the case of the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst,after 720 h on stream of continuous FT synthesis the average cobalt nano particles diameter increased from 15.9 to 18.4 nm,whereas,under the same reaction conditions the average cobalt nano particles diameter of the Co/CNTs increased from 11.2 to 17.8 ***,the initial FT activity of the Co/CNTs was 26% higher than that of the Co/γ-Al2O3,the FT activity over the Co/CNTs after 720 h on stream decreased by 49% and that over the Co/γ-Al2O3 by 32%.For the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst 6.7% of total activity loss and for the Co/CNTs catalyst 11.6% of total activity loss cannot be recovered after regeneration of the catalyst at the same conditions of the first regeneration *** is concluded that using CNTs as cobalt catalyst support is beneficial in carbon utilization as compared to γ-Al2O3 support,but the Co/CNTs catalyst is more susceptible for deactivation.

To discuss the potential role of iridium(Ir)nanoparticles loaded under atmospheric and high pressures,we prepared a series of cata-lysts with the same active phase but different contents of 10wt%,20wt%,and 30wt%on gamma-alumina for decomposition of ***-der atmospheric pressure,the performance of the catalyst was better when 30wt%of the Ir nanoparticles was used with chelating agent that had greater selectivity of approximately 27%.The increase in the reaction rate from 175 to 220 h^(−1)at higher Ir loading(30wt%)was due to a good dispersion of high-number active phases rather than an agglomeration *** a satisfactory result of this investigation at high pressure,Ir catalysts with different weight percentages showed the same stability against crushing and activity with a characteristic velocity of approxim-ately 1300 m/s.

The detection of informal settlements is the first step in planning and upgrading deprived areas in order to leave no one behind in *** High-Resolution satellite images(VHR),have been extensively used for this ***,as a cost-prohibitive data source,VHR might not be available to all,particularly nations that are home to many informal *** study examines the application of open and freely available data sources to detect the structure and pattern of informal ***,in a case study of Jakarta,Indonesia,Medium Resolution satellite imagery(MR)derived from Landsat 8(2020)was classified to detect these *** classification was done using Random Forest(RF)classifier through two complementary approaches to develop the training *** the first approach,available survey data sets(Jakarta’s informal settlements map for 2015)and visual interpreta-tion using High-Resolution Google Map imagery have been used to build the training *** the second round of classifica-tion,OpenStreetMap(OSM)layers were used as the complementary approach for *** from the validation test for the second round revealed better accuracy and precision in *** proposed method provides an opportunity to use open data for informal settlements detection,when:1)more expen-sive high resolution data sources are not accessible;2)the area of interest is not larger than a city;and 3)the physical characteristics of the settlements differ significantly from their surrounding formal *** method presents the application of globally accessible data to help the achievement of resilience and SDGs in informal settlements.

The hepatitis C virus(HCV), first described in 1989, is now a leading cause of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. With more than 170 million people infected globally, this virus is a major public health issue. The current standard therapy is based on interferon in combination with ribavirin. This costly therapy often fails to completely clear the infection and is associated with adverse side effects. Recent anti-HCV therapies are interferon-free direct-acting antiviral(DAA) regimens for HCV, including simeprevir, sofosbuvir, and ledipasvir, which have effects on non-structural proteins. DAA regimens have several advantages, such as specifically targeting HCV viral replication, accompanied by very high sustained virological response rates and lower side effects like flu-like syndrome. These facts plus the fact that most HCV cases progress to chronic infection suggest the potential need for an efficient HCV vaccine. Different innovative methods, including methods based on peptide, recombinant protein, DNA, vector-based, and virus-like particles, have been introduced for the development of HCV vaccines. An extensive number of studies have been published on these vaccines, and some vaccines were even tested in clinical trials. In the current review, progress in the development of preventive and therapeutic vaccines against the HCV is reviewed in the context of peptide vaccines, recombinant protein vaccines, HCV-like particle, DNA vaccines and viral vectors expressing HCV genes.

Insight into DNA protection ability of medicinal herbs and potential mechanisms in hydrogen peroxide damages model

DNA damage is one of the most important consequences of oxidative stress in the cells. If DNA repair is unable to modify these inducible DNA damages, genomic instability may lead to mutation, cancer, aging and many other diseases. Single cell gel electrophoresis or comet assay is a common and versatile method to quantify these types of DNA damages. DNA damages induced by hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) are one of the proper models for measurement of protective ability of different compounds. So the main aim of this review is to provide an overview about protection ability of medicinal plants and their potential mechanism against H_2O_2 induced DNA damages. In this review, relevant researches on the effect of medicinal plants on DNA damages induced by H_2O_2 and possible molecular mechanisms are *** seems that, medicinal plants are considered as therapeutic key factors to protect DNA from consequences caused by oxidative stress. Sufficient in vitro evidences introduce them as DNA protective agents through different mechanisms including antioxidant activity and some other cellular mechanisms. Moreover, in order to correlate the antigenotoxicity effects with their potential antioxidant property, most of medicinal plants were evaluated in term of antioxidant activity using standard methods. This review highlights the preventive effects of herbal medicine against oxidative DNA damages as well as provides rational possibility to engage them in animal studies and future clinical investigations.
