This pa.er represents a.ca.e study of tra.fic congestion within a.section on a. Seeb Street highwa. due to the on-ra.p merging of vehicles tha. ca.ses a.bottleneck in the ma.nline roa.. It studies the efficiency of insta.ling ra.p metering within a.ra.p within the selected study zone. This is done by simula.ing the collected da.a.using Vissim softwa.e by dra.ing three one-hour-long scena.ios;the first scena.io reflects the da.a.collected for 30 minutes dura.ion a.d is used a. a.ba.e scena.io to dra. the other two scena.ios, which a.e reflected a. fa.tored-up scena.ios to crea.e a.situa.ion observed in the ea.ly morning in the study zone a. 6:00-7:00 in which slowing down of speeds exist, a.d brea.down is ra.sed in working da.s. The two fa.toring-up scena.ios were a. follows: one without ra.p metering a.d the other without ra.p metering. Ea.h scena.io wa. ca.ibra.ed a.d run five times with ra.dom seeds, a.d then the a.era.e wa. considered. The simula.ion exa.ines the a.ility of RM to smooth tra.fic in ma.nline a.d reduce queuing on on-ra.p roa.s within the selected study zone by compa.ing the performa.ce of the network for the scena.ios a.d compa.ing them in terms of the overa.l dela.s, number of stops a.d the a.era.e speeds for the vehicles within the ma.nline. The results showed a.good performa.ce reflected by the scena.io with ra.p metering with a.reduction of the overa.l dela., a.decrea.e in stops number a.d a. increa.e of the a.era.e speed were a.hieved. For the ba.e scena.io, a.visua.iza.ion (video extra.ted from Vissim softwa.e) wa. extra.ted, showing no need to insta.l RM with a. a.socia.ed ta.le showing a.number of stops equa. to zero with a. a.era.e speed of 102.74 km/h a.d a.tota. dela. of 6045 seconds. For the second scena.io with no RM, a.visua.iza.ion wa. extra.ted showing a.slowing down of speeds for vehicles within the ma.nline while vehicles merging from the on-ra.p a.d need to be controlled with a.ta.le showing a.number of stops equa. to 16 a.d a. a
