Influence of land use/land cover on the water chemistry of Wular Lake in Kashmir Himalaya (India)

Introduction:The impacts of land use/land cover(LulC)pattern on surface components of water are less well recognized,particularly in the Kashmir Himalaya.The paper highlights the relationship between LulC and water chemistry for Wular Lake in Kashmir Himalaya.Methods:We used Indian Remote Sensing satellite(IRS)P6 using LISS III sensor with a spatial resolution of 23.5 m for various LulC categories.ERDAS IMAGINE 9.0 and ArcGIS 9.3 were used to generate the LulC map.Water parameters like pH and temperature were measured in the field,while parameters like dissolved oxygen,free carbon dioxide,chloride,alkalinity nitrogen and phosphorus values were determined by APHA(Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Wastewater,1998).Results:The present study provides us the information about the proportion of different land cover categories and their correlation with some limnological parameters of Wular Lake.Among the various physicochemical parameters,low dissolved oxygen(DO)was observed in the LulC class which has the highest percentage of agricultural land(47.04%;r=0.688 Pultural land(19.10%;r=0.554;Pultural fields drains maximum fertilizers in the lake,resulting in growth of microorganisms that deplete the dissolved oxygen content in the water body.Conclusions:Pearson matrix predicts that agricultural land,built up,horticultural land and wasteland seem to be the foremost factors responsible for the deterioration of the water quality of the lake.Careful planning of land use is needed to bring significant reductions in nutrient exports from agriculture through various tributaries,in order to restore and maintain water quality of the lake.If this trend of agriculturization manifestation continues unabated,it will be difficult to restore the lake water quality and to subsequently correct ecological manifestation of eutrophication through which the lake is undergoing at present.

面向南亚和东南亚的小语种机器翻译,目前已有不少研究团队开展了深入研究,但作为巴基斯坦官方语言的乌尔都语,由于稀缺的数据资源和与汉语之间的巨大差距,有针对性的汉乌机器翻译方法研究非常稀少。针对这种情况,提出了基于Transformer的融合乌尔都语词性序列的汉乌神经机器翻译模型。首先利用Transformer对目标语言乌尔都语的词性序列进行预测,然后将翻译模型的预测结果和词性序列模型的预测结果相结合进行联合预测,从而实现语言知识到翻译模型的融入。在现有小规模汉乌数据集上的实验表明,所提方法在数据集上的BLEU值相较于基准模型提升了0.13,取得了较为明显的效果。

Online review platforms are becoming increasingly popular,encouraging dishonest merchants and service providers to deceive customers by creating fake reviews for their goods or services.Using Sybil accounts,bot farms,and real account purchases,immoral actors demonize rivals and advertise their goods.Most academic and industry efforts have been aimed at detecting fake/fraudulent product or service evaluations for years.The primary hurdle to identifying fraudulent reviews is the lack of a reliable means to distinguish fraudulent reviews from real ones.This paper adopts a semi-supervised machine learning method to detect fake reviews on any website,among other things.Online reviews are classified using a semi-supervised approach(PU-learning)since there is a shortage of labeled data,and they are dynamic.Then,classification is performed using the machine learning techniques Support Vector Machine(SVM)and Nave Bayes.The performance of the suggested system has been compared with standard works,and experimental findings are assessed using several assessment metrics.

The anti-neoplastic effects of metformin modulate the acquired phenotype of fbroblast cells in the breast cancer-normal fbroblast co-culture system

Intracellular communications between breast cancer and fibroblast cells were reported to be involved in cancer proliferation,growth,and therapy resitance.The hallmarks of cancer fibroblast interactions,consisting of caveolin 1(Cav1)and mono-carboxylate ransporter 4(MCT4)(metabolic coupling markers),along with IL-6,TGFB,and lactate secretion,are considered robust biomarkers predicting recurrence and metastasis.In order to promote a novel phenotype in normal fibroblasts,we predicted that breast cancer cells could be able to cause loss of Cavl and increase of MCT4,as well as elevate IL 6 and TGF in nearby nomal fibroblasts.We created a co culture model using breast cancer(4T1)and normal fibroblast(NIH3T3)cell lines cultured under specific experimental conditions in order to directly test our theory.Moreover,we show that long-term co-culture of breast cancer cells and normal fibroblasts promotes loss of Cavl and gain of MCT4 in adjacent fibroblasts and increase lactate secretion.These results were validated using the monoculture of each group separately as a control.In this system,we show that me tformin inhibits IL-6 and TGFB secretion and re expresses Cavl in both cells.However,MCT4 and lactate stayed high after treatment with metformin.In conclusion,our work shows that co-culture with breast cancer cells may cause signifcant alterations in the phenotype and secretion of normal fibroblasts.Metformin,however,may change this state and affect fibroblasts'acquired phenotypes.Moreover,mitochondrial inhibition by metformin after 8 days of treatment,signi ficantly hinders tumor growth in mouse model of breast cancer.

BACKGROUND In hepatology,the clinical use of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)has experienced a notable increase in recent times.These applications range from the diagnosis to the treatment of various liver diseases.Therefore,this systematic review summarizes the evidence for the diagnostic and therapeutic roles of EUS in liver diseases.AIM To examine and summarize the current available evidence of the possible roles of the EUS in making a suitable diagnosis in liver diseases as well as the therapeutic accuracy and efficacy.METHODS PubMed,Medline,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,and Google Scholar databases were extensively searched until October 2023.The methodological quality of the eligible articles was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale or Cochrane Risk of Bias tool.In addition,statistical analyses were performed using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software.RESulTS Overall,45 articles on EUS were included(28 on diagnostic role and 17 on therapeutic role).Pooled analysis demonstrated that EUS diagnostic tests had an accuracy of 92.4%for focal liver lesions(FLL)and 96.6%for parenchymal liver diseases.EUS-guided liver biopsies with either fine needle aspiration or fine needle biopsy had low complication rates when sampling FLL and parenchymal liver diseases(3.1%and 8.7%,respectively).Analysis of data from four studies showed that EUS-guided liver abscess had high clinical(90.7%)and technical success(90.7%)without significant complications.Similarly,EUS-guided interventions for the treatment of gastric varices(GV)have high technical success(98%)and GV obliteration rate(84%)with few complications(15%)and rebleeding events(17%).CONCLUSION EUS in liver diseases is a promising technique with the potential to be considered a first-line therapeutic and diagnostic option in selected cases.

Existence and numerical approximation of a solution to frictional contact problem for electro-elastic materials

In this paper,a frictional contact problem between an electro-elastic body and an electrically conductive foundation is studied.The contact is modeled by normal compliance with finite penetration and a version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction in which the coefficient of friction depends on the slip.In addition,the effects of the electrical conductivity of the foundation are taken into account.This model leads to a coupled system of the quasi-variational inequality of the elliptic type for the displacement and the nonlinear variational equation for the electric potential.The existence of a weak solution is proved by using an abstract result for elliptic variational inequalities and a fixed point argument.Then,a finite element approximation of the problem is presented.Under some regularity conditions,an optimal order error estimate of the approximate solution is derived.Finally,a successive iteration technique is used to solve the problem numerically and a convergence result is established.

Distributed Hybrid Model Predictive Secondary Control of DC Microgrids with Random Communication Disorders

A reliable and robust communication network is essential to exchange information between distributed generators(DGs) and accurately calculate their control actions in microgrids(MGs). However, the integration of the communication network and MGs poses challenges related to the flexibility, availability, and reliability of the system. Furthermore, random communication disorders such as time delays and packet loss can negatively impact the system performance. Therefore, it is essential to design a suitable secondary controller(SC) with a fast dynamic response to restore voltage and appropriate powersharing, while ensuring that the effects of random communication disorders are eliminated. In this regard, an optimal distributed hybrid model predictive secondary control method is presented in this paper. Realistic simulations are carried out in a mixed simulation environment based on MATLAB and OMNET++, by considering IEEE 802.11(Wi Fi) using the recently developed Internet networking(INET) framework. In the implemented application layer, the recovery Unit is responsible for reducing the impact of random communication disorders. The effectiveness and performance of the proposed method in comparison with a conventional model predictive control are verified by simulation results.

An Adaptive Data-driven Method Based on Fuzzy Logic for Determining Power System Voltage Status

This paper proposes an adaptive method based on fuzzy logic that utilizes data from phasor measurement units(PMUs) to assess and classify generating-side voltage trajectories. The voltage variable and its associated derivatives are used as the input variables of a fuzzy-logic block. In addition, the voltage trajectory is compared with the pre-selected pilot-bus voltage to make a reliable decision about the voltage operational state. Different types of short-term voltage dynamics are considered in the proposed method. The fuzzy membership functions are determined using a systematic method that considers the current situation of the voltage trajectory. Finally, the voltage status is categorized into four classes to determine appropriate remedial actions. The proposed method is validated on a IEEE 73-bus power system in a MATLAB environment.

In this paper, a new statistical averaging technique is proposed for finding an optimal solution to a multi-objective linear fractional programming problem (MOLFPP) and multi-objective linear programming problem (MOLPP) by using new arithmetic averaging method and new geometric averaging method. It is significantly noticeable same characteristics among all the technique while taking maximum or minimum among all optimized values for multi-objective functions using simplex algorithm. The characteristics provided from the problems are verified by the numerical examples.

A novel fractional case study of nonlinear dynamics via analytical approach

The present work describes the fractional view analysis of Newell-Whitehead-Segal equations,using an innovative technique.The work is carried with the help of the Caputo operator of fractional derivative.The analytical solutions of some numerical examples are presented to confirm the reliability of the proposed method.The derived results are very consistent with the actual solutions to the problems.A graphical representation has been done for the solution of the problems at various fractional-order derivatives.Moreover,the solution in series form has the desired rate of convergence and provides the closed-form solutions.It is noted that the procedure can be modified in other directions for fractional order problems.
