Leptospirosis is a re-em.rging zoonotic disease caused by infection of the bacteria belongs to Genus leptospira. It occurs in tropical, subtropical and tem.erate zones. It is also know. as occupational-related disease as certain occupations are associated w.th the occurrence of leptospirosis. Arm. is identified as one of the high-risk occupations in contracting leptospirosis. This study w.s done to determ.ne know.edge, attitude and practice (KAP) am.ng arm. personnel on leptospirosis. A cross sectional study w.s conducted am.ng 616 arm. personnel in four based cam.s in Northeastern m.laysia, w.o fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A validated KAP questionnaire w.s used, consisting of know.edge, attitude and practice questions. m.re than half (52.8%) of the respondents had poor know.edge score. For the attitude score, alm.st the sam. proportions had satisfactory attitude. The sam. finding w.s seen in practice score, w.ereby those w.th good practice (54.9%) and bad practice (45.9%). In conclusion, the finding show.d that alm.st all arm. personnel had unsatisfactory KAP, thus, it is recom.ended for the arm. to have a good health education program.on leptospirosis am.ng arm. personnel to protect the arm. personnel from.risk of getting leptospirosis.

Objective: Leptospirosis is a know. zoonotic disease w.ich is closely related to certain high-risk occupational group. This study aim.d to identify the risk factors associated w.th seropositive leptospirosis am.ng arm. personnel. m.thodology: A cross sectional study w.s conducted involving 616 arm. personnel using a self-adm.nistered questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of sociodem.graphic, occupational and environm.ntal data as w.ll as recreational activities history. Serum.sam.le for leptospirosis w.s taken for screening w.th Igm.Enzym.-linked Im.unosorbent Assay (Igm.ELISA) test. Positive tests w.re confirm.d by m.croscopic Agglutination Test (m.T). Results: All respondents w.re m.le, m.lays and m.rried w.th the m.an age of 29.28 (7.15) years old. The m.an duration of w.rking w.s 11.50 (7.75). m.jority of the respondents w.re non-officer and riflem.n, sm.kers (455 (73.9%), stayed inside the cam. and engaged in recreational activities. The m.an duration of em.loym.nt w.s 11.50 (7.75) years. The overall seroprevalence of leptospirosis w.s 16.2% (95% CI: 13.32, 19.15) and the predom.nant pathogenic serovar identified w.s Terengganu (38.2%). Those w.o had low.r educational levels w.re m.re protective for positive leptospirosis com.ared to those w.o have only prim.ry education (OR: 0.32;95% CI: 0.14, 0.76;p = 0.009). Conclusion: Despite being nam.d as one of the high-risk occupations for leptospirosis, this study found no significant occupational factors related to leptospirosis seropositivity am.ng arm. personnel.

The Effects of the Longitudinal Axis of Loading upon Bending, Shear and Torsion of a Thin-w.lled Cantilever Channel Beam

Three alum.nium.channel sections of US standard extruded dim.nsion are m.unted as cantilevers w.th x-axis sym.etry. The flexural bending and shear that arise w.th applied axial torsion are each considered theoretically and num.rically in term. of tw. longitudinal axes of loading not coincident w.th the shear centre. In particular, the w.rping displacem.nts, stiffness and stress distributions are calculated for torsion applied to longitudinal axes passing through the section’s centroid and its w.b centre. The stress conversions derived from.each action are superim.osed to reveal a net sectional stress distribution. Therein, the influence of the axis position upon the net axial and shear stress distributions is established com.ared to previous results for each beam.w.en loading is referred to a flexural axis through the shear centre. w.thin the net stress analysis is, it is show. how.the constraint to free w.rping presented by the end fixing m.difies the axial stress. The latter can be identified w.th the action of a ‘bim.m.nt’ upon each thin-w.lled section.

Theory of Flexural Shear, Bending and Torsion for a Thin-w.lled Beam.of Open Section

Aspects of the general Vlasov theory are exam.ned separately as applied to a thin-w.lled channel section cantilever beam.under free-end end loading. In particular, the flexural bending and shear that arise under transverse shear and axial torsional loading are each considered theoretically. These analyses involve the location of the shear centre at w.ich transverse shear forces w.en applied do not produce torsion. This centre, w.en taken to be coincident w.th the centre of tw.st im.lies an equivalent reciprocal behaviour. That is, an axial torsion applied concentric w.th the shear centre w.ll tw.st but not bend the beam. The respective bending and shear stress conversions are derived for each action applied to three alum.nium.alloy extruded channel sections m.unted as cantilevers w.th a horizontal principal axis of sym.etry. Bending and shear are considered m.re generally for other thin-w.lled sections w.en the transverse loading axes at the shear centre are not parallel to the section = s centroidal axes of principal second m.m.nts of area. The fixing at one end of the cantilever m.difies the St Venant free angular tw.st and the free w.rping displacem.nt. It is show. from.the w.gner-Kappus torsion theory how.the end constrained w.rping generates an axial stress distribution that varies w.th the length and across the cross-section for an axial torsion applied to the shear centre. It should be m.ntioned here for w.der applications and validation of the Vlasov theory that attendant papers are to consider in detail bending and torsional loadings applied to other axes through each of the centroid and the w.b centre. Therein, both bending and tw.sting arise from.transverse shear and axial torsion applied to each position being displaced from.the shear centre. Here, the influence of the axis position upon the net axial and shear stress distributions is to be established. That is, the net axial stress from.axial torsional loading is identified w.th the sum.of axial stress

Obtaining high precision is an im.ortant consideration for astrom.tric studies using im.ges from.the Narrow.Angle Cam.ra(NAC)of the Cassini Im.ging Science Subsystem.ISS).Selecting the best centering algorithm.is key to enhancing astrom.tric *** this study,w. com.ared the accuracy of five centering algorithm.:Gaussian fitting,the m.dified m.m.nts m.thod,and three point-spread function(PSF)fitting m.thods(effective PSF(ePSF),PSFEx,and extended PSF(x PSF)from.the Cassini Im.ging Central Laboratory for Operations(CICLOPS)).w. assessed these algorithm. using 70 ISS NAC star field im.ges taken w.th CL1 and CL2 filters across different stellar *** ePSF m.thod consistently dem.nstrated the highest accuracy,achieving precision below.0.03 pixels for stars of m.gnitude *** to the previously considered best,the m.dified m.m.nts m.thod,the e PSF m.thod im.roved overall accuracy by about 10%and 21%in the sam.le and line directions,***,the xPSF m.del provided by CICLOPS had low.r precision than the ***,the ePSF exhibits an im.rovem.nt in m.asurem.nt precision of 23%and 17%in the sam.le and line directions,respectively,over the *** discrepancy m.ght be attributed to the xPSF focusing on photom.try rather than *** findings highlight the necessity of constructing PSF m.dels specifically tailored for astrom.tric purposes in NAC im.ges and provide guidance for enhancing astrom.tric m.asurem.nts using these ISS NAC im.ges.

Optim.zation and Characterization of Cellulose Extraction from.Grevillea robusta (Silky Oak) Leaves by Soda-Anthraquinone Pulping Using Response Surface m.thodology

Response surface m.thodology (RSm. using the central com.osite design (CCD) w.s applied to exam.ne the im.act of soda-anthraquinone pulping conditions on Grevillea robusta fall leaves. The pulping factors studied w.re: NaOH charge 5% to 20% w.v, pulping tim. 30 to 180 m.nutes, and the anthraquinone charge 0.1 to 0.5% w.w.based on the oven-dried leaves. The responses evaluated w.re the pulp yield, cellulose content, and the degree of delignification. Various regression m.dels w.re used to evaluate the effects of varying the pulping conditions. The optim.m.conditions attained w.re;NaOH charge of 14.63%, 0.1% anthraquinone, and a pulping period of 154 m.nutes, corresponding to 20.68% pulp yield, 80.56% cellulose content, and 70.34% lignin rem.val. Analysis of variance (ANOVA), w.s used to determ.ne the m.st im.ortant variables that im.rove the extraction process of cellulose. The experim.nt outcom.s m.tched those predicted by the m.del (Predicted R2 = 0.9980, Adjusted R2 = 0.9994), dem.nstrating the adequacy of the m.del used. FTIR analysis confirm.d the elim.nation of the non-cellulosic fiber constituents. The lignin and hem.cellulose-related bands (around 1514 cm.1, 1604 cm.1, 1239 cm.1, and 1734 cm.1) decreased w.th chem.cal treatm.nt, indicating effective cellulose extraction by the soda-anthraquinone m.thod. Sim.lar results w.re obtained by XRD, SEm.and therm.gravim.tric analysis of the extracted cellulose. Therefore, Grevillea robusta fall leaves are suitable renew.ble, cost-effective, and environm.ntally friendly non-w.od biom.ss for cellulose extraction.

This ubiquitous digital internet environm.nt has also ledtolarge-scaledisclosureof personal *** tothe com.lexity andsubtletyof sensitive inform.tion, traditional sensitive inform.tion identification technologies cannot thoroughly address the characteristics of each piece of data, thus w.akening the deep connections betw.en text and im.ges. In this context, this paper adopts the CLIP m.del as a m.dality discrim.nator. By using com.arative learning betw.en sensitive im.ge descriptions and im.ges, the sim.larity betw.en the im.ges and the sensitive descriptions is obtained to determ.ne w.ether the im.ges contain sensitive inform.tion. This provides the basis for identifying sensitive inform.tion using different m.dalities. Specifically, if the original data does not contain sensitive inform.tion, only single-m.dality text-sensitive inform.tion identification is perform.d; if the original data contains sensitive inform.tion, m.ltim.dality sensitive inform.tion identification is conducted. This approach allow. for differentiated processing of each piece of data, thereby achieving m.re accurate sensitive inform.tion identification. Disjoint sam.ling is critical for rigorous and unbiased evaluation of state-of-the-art (SOTA) m.dels e.g., Attention Graph and Vision Transform.r. w.en training, validation, and test sets overlap or share data, it introduces a bias that inflates perform.nce m.trics and prevents accurate assessm.nt of a m.del’s true ability to generalize to new.exam.les. This paper presents an innovative disjoint sam.ling approach for training SOTA m.dels for the Hyperspectral Im.ge Classification (HSIC). By separating training, validation, and test data w.thout overlap, the proposed m.thod facilitates a fairer evaluation of how.w.ll a m.del can classify pixels it w.s not exposed to during training or validation. Experim.nts dem.nstrate the approach significantly im.roves a m.del’s generalization com.ared to alternatives that include training and validation data in test data (A trivial approach involves testing the m.del on the entire Hyperspectral dataset to generate the ground truth m.ps. This approach produces higher accuracy but ultim.tely results in low.generalization perform.nce). Disjoint sam.ling elim.nates data leakage betw.en sets and provides reliable m.trics for benchm.rking progress in HSIC. Disjoint sam.ling is critical for advancing SOTA m.dels and their real-w.rld application to large-scale land m.pping w.th Hyperspectral sensors. Overall, w.th the disjoint test set, the perform.nce of the deep m.dels achieves 96.36% accuracy on Indian Pines data, 99.73% on Pavia University data, 98.29% on University of Houston data, 99.43% on Botsw.na data, and 99.88% on Salinas data. © 2024 The Authors.

Lung cancer rem.ins a m.jor concern in m.dern oncology due to its high m.rtality rates and m.ltifaceted origins, including hereditary factors and various clinical changes. It stands as the deadliest type of cancer and a significant cause of cancer-related deaths globally. Early diagnosis enables healthcare providers to adm.nister appropriate treatm.nt m.asures prom.tly and accurately, leading to im.roved prognosis and higher survival rates. The significant increase in both the incidence and m.rtality rates of lung cancer, particularly its ranking as the second m.st prevalent cancer am.ng w.m.n w.rldw.de, underscores the need for com.rehensive research into efficient screening m.thods. Advances in diagnostic techniques, particularly the use of com.uted tom.graphy (CT) scans, have revolutionized the identification of lung cancer. CT scans are renow.ed for their ability to provide high-resolution im.ges and are particularly effective in detecting sm.ll, calcified areas, crucial for identifying early-stage lung cancer. Consequently, there is grow.ng interest in enhancing com.uter-aided detection (CAD) system.. These algorithm. assist radiologists by reducing false-positive interpretations and im.roving the accuracy of early cancer diagnosis. This study aim. to enhance the effectiveness of CAD system. through various m.thods. Initially, the Contrast Lim.ted Adaptive Histogram.Equalization (CLAHE) algorithm.is em.loyed to preprocess CT scan im.ges, thereby im.roving their visual quality. Further refinem.nt is achieved by integrating different optim.zation strategies w.th the CLAHE m.thod. The Cutm.x data augm.ntation technique is applied to boost the perform.nce of the proposed m.del. A com.arative analysis is conducted using deep learning architectures such as Inception-V3, ResNet101, Xception, and EfficientNet.
