Is the Sundarbans of Bangladesh in a State of Pollution?

The Sundarbans is the world’s most extensive natural mangrove forest and home to various natural resources. The population in the vicinity has increased, causing more dependency on the resources of the Sundarbans. The increasing industrialization, urbanization, aquaculture, intensive agricultural practices, seaports, tourism facilities, and so on in the peripheral areas of the Sundarbans have made significant changes in the surrounding and upstream land uses of the Sundarbans. This situation may have detrimental influences on the ecosystem components of the Sundarbans. Therefore, it is highly demanded to prepare a piece of baseline information or database of different sources of pollution and their present status in the various components of the Sundarbans. This effort helps to identify issues and concerns, determine the key elements of the ecosystem to monitor the level or overall quality of the Sundarbans ecosystem. The present study systematically collects the potential sources of pollution, types, and current levels in the ecosystem components of the Sundarbans using academic databases, libraries, and online resources. Discharge of industrial waste into water, soil and air, heavy metal pollution, use of agrochemicals, oil (refined and crude) pollution, plastic materials from urban areas, and tourism are the major issues and concerns related to the sustainability of the Sundarbans ecosystem. The air quality of the Sundarbans is in good condition with 0 - 50 AQI of Bangladesh. While BOD, COD, TDS, TSS varied from 2.0 to 3.8 mg/L, 21.6 to 416 mg/L, 146.9 to 24,100 mg/L and 54 to 155 mg/L, respectively. Soil EC, organic carbon, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus ranged from 3.01 - 5.82 mS/cm, 1.41% - 2.69%, 0.51 - 1.05 mg/g, and 0.32 - 0.51 mg/g respectively. The air, water and soil quality parameters varied with the sites and seasons and not much at the state of contamination. Lexicon and Deep Learning-Based Approaches in Sentiment Analysis on Short Texts

Social media is an essential component of our personal and professional lives. We use it extensively to share various things, including our opinions on daily topics and feelings about different subjects. This sharing of posts provides insights into someone’s current emotions. In artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL), researchers emphasize opinion mining and analysis of sentiment, particularly on social media platforms such as Twitter (currently known as X), which has a global user base. This research work revolves explicitly around a comparison between two popular approaches: Lexicon-based and Deep learning-based Approaches. To conduct this study, this study has used a Twitter dataset called sentiment140, which contains over 1.5 million data points. The primary focus was the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) deep learning sequence model. In the beginning, we used particular techniques to preprocess the data. The dataset is divided into training and test data. We evaluated the performance of our model using the test data. Simultaneously, we have applied the lexicon-based approach to the same test data and recorded the outputs. Finally, we compared the two approaches by creating confusion matrices based on their respective outputs. This allows us to assess their precision, recall, and F1-Score, enabling us to determine which approach yields better accuracy. This research achieved 98% model accuracy for deep learning algorithms and 95% model accuracy for the lexicon-based approach.

Background: The robustness is a measurement of an analytical chemical method and its ability to contain unaffected by little with deliberate variation of analytical chemical method parameters. The analytical chemical method variation parameters are based on pH variability of buffer solution of mobile phase, organic ratio composition changes, stationary phase (column) manufacture, brand name and lot number variation;flow rate variation and temperature variation of chromatographic system. The analytical chemical method for assay of Atropine Sulfate conducted for robustness evaluation. The typical variation considered for mobile phase organic ratio change, change of pH, change of temperature, change of flow rate, change of column etc. Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a cost effective, short run time and robust analytical chemical method for the assay quantification of Atropine in Pharmaceutical Ophthalmic Solution. This will help to make analytical decisions quickly for research and development scientists as well as will help with quality control product release for patient consumption. This analytical method will help to meet the market demand through quick quality control test of Atropine Ophthalmic Solution and it is very easy for maintaining (GDP) good documentation practices within the shortest period of time. Method: HPLC method has been selected for developing superior method to Compendial method. Both the compendial HPLC method and developed HPLC method was run into the same HPLC system to prove the superiority of developed method. Sensitivity, precision, reproducibility, accuracy parameters were considered for superiority of method. Mobile phase ratio change, pH of buffer solution, change of stationary phase temperature, change of flow rate and change of column were taken into consideration for robustness study of the developed method. Bromine and oxygen redox species mediated highly selective electro-epoxidation of styrene

Olefin epoxidation is an essential transformation and arouses great interest among the scientific community for the key role of epoxide in the chemical *** methods suffer from harmful oxidants and require harsh operating conditions and complex separation ***-epoxidation through bromine redox reactions is an eco-friendly ***,the lack of efficient electrodes always limits the selectivity of epoxidation and results in massive energy ***,we found that GF-CoS_(2)/CoS heterostructures anchored on graphite felt(GF-CoS_(2)/CoS)can efficiently facilitate the generation of bromine redox species on the *** synergistic cooperation between the bromine redox species and oxygen redox species(generated on a graphite rod cathode)can establish a benign electro-epoxidation system for olefin substrates in an ambient *** the optimized reaction conditions,the epoxidation of styrene can achieve a yield of 97% at 30 mA cm^(-2).Importantly,the applied voltage(4-5 V)is roughly half of the Pt-based electrode system(7.8-9.3 V),hence,saving half of the *** demonstrated that our proposed strategy could also be applied to other *** of the simple,sustainable,and economic advantages of the epoxidation process,we believe this strategy is highly desirable for technical applications.

Structural stability improvement, Williamson Hall analysis and band-gap tailoring through A-site Sr doping in rare earth based double perovskite La2NiMnO6

The structural,morphological and optical properties of single-phase polycrystalline La2-xSrxNiMnO6(x=0,0.3 and 0.5),synthesized by solid state reaction were *** samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)/energy dispersive analysis of X-rays(EDAX),Raman spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS)to elucidate the role of A-site Sr-doping in double perovskite La2 *** analysis of XRD patterns revealed that all the samples have monoclinic structure with space group P21/*** gradient in the Williamson Hall plots revealed the presence of tensile strain in all the *** morphological studies revealed that average grain size increases along with appreciable decrease in porosity with Sr *** Ni/Mn antisite disorder was introduced in the La2 NiMnO6 by Sr-doping confirmed by an increase in the full width at half maximum(FWHM)and decrease in intensity of the Raman modes at around 540 and 665 cm-1 which correspond to the antisymmetric stretching and symmetric stretching modes,*** results reveal that the band gap in La2 NiMnO6 can be tuned down by Sr-doping to a value of1.37 eV(very close to 1.40 eV,considered as optimum value for better efficiency of a solar cell).Thus,Sr-doped La2 NiMnO6 may be of prime importance for applications in solar cells.

为解决物理和化学方法改良盐渍土工程性质时工程耗能高、环境负效应扰动大的问题,利用高原寒区盐渍环境发育的原生脲解型微生物对细粒硫酸盐渍土进行固化试验,采用微观试验和三轴压缩试验对微生物固化盐渍土的强度特征进行了研究。结果表明:细粒硫酸盐渍土被微生物固化后,抗剪强度最高可提升2.9倍,增强机制由黏聚强度的提高程度所决定;固化土的初始切线模量和刚度得到提升,抗变形能力得到增强。该研究结果对增强固化土的稳定性、承载力等具有理论研究和实践指导意义。
