Resistance to cancer therapy continues to be a major limitation for the successful treatment of cancer. There are many published studies on therapy resistance in breast and prostate cancers; however, there are currently no data on molecular markers associated with resistance. The conflicting data were reported regarding the AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway components as markers predicting resistance. The AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway is involved in the development of many human cancers; its activation is related to cell proliferation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, as well as to therapy resistance. Molecular alterations in the AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway provide a platform to identify universal markers associated with the development of resistance to cancer therapy.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to reveal associations between NF-κB, HIF-1alpha, VEGF expres-sions, proteasome and calpain activities with tumor progression in patients with kidney cancers and to find molecular parameters, associated with the effective pazopanib therapy. 93 patients with clear cell kidney cancers are included in investigation. 26 patients with disseminated kidney cancer have the pazopanib therapy. Methods: Transcription factors, VEGF, VEGFR2 and p-m-TOR expression are measured by ELISA kits. Proteasome and calpain activity are determined using specific fluorogenic substrate. Results: It is found the increase of NF-κB, HIF-1 expression in cancer tissues followed the hematogenic metastasis development. Coefficient NF-κB р65/р50 and VEGF expression are increased in cancer tissues with single metastasis and are decreased in cancer tissues with multiple ones. It is observed in the low proteasome activity in metastatic cancer tissues. The partial cancer regression is revealed in 29.6% of patients treated with pazopanib, cancer stabilization—in 61.5% of patients and cancer progression—in 11.5% of patients. The increased level of transcription factors NF-κB, HIF-1, growth factor VEGF and high proteasome activity in cancer tissues before targeted therapy are associated with the effective treatment. It is obtained the significant decrease of investigated markers after pazopanib application in metastatic kidney cancer patients. Conclusion: Coefficient NF-κB р65/р50, VEGF expression and proteases activities are the potential prognostic molecular markers of hematogenic metastasis development in kidney cancers. NF-κB, HIF-1 and VEGF levels can be considered as additional molecular markers predicting the effective pazopanib therapy.

Recently, a conformable fractional derivative has been proposed to calculate the derivative of non-integer order of time functions. It has been shown that this new fractional derivative definition obeys many advantages over the preceding definitions. For mathematical models in applied sciences and to preserve the dimensionality of the physical quantities, an auxiliary parameter （~r） which has the dimension of seconds should be implemented in the fractional derivative definition. We obtain analytic solutions for the resulting conformable fractional differential equations describing the vertical velocity and the height of the falling body. It is shown that the dimensions of velocity and height are always correct without any restrictions on the auxiliary parameter cr which contradicts with the results in the literature when applying the Caputo definition to the same problem. This may open the door for many future works either to describe the role of such an auxiliary parameter or to derive a more suitable definition for the fractional derivative.

In this paper,the mathematical model describing the third-grade non-Newtonian blood flow suspended with nanoparticles through porous arteries is exactly *** present physical model was solved in the research literature via the optimal homotopy analysis method and the collocation method,where the obtained solution was compared with the numerical fourth-order Runge-Kutta ***,the present paper only introduces a new approach to obtain the exact solution of the concerned system and implements such exact solution as a reference to validate the published approximate *** remarks on the previously published results are observed and discussed in detail through tables and *** view of the present calculations,the obtained results in the literature by Ghasemi et al.[Ghasemi,Hatami,Sarokolaie et al.(2015)]may need ***,it is found that the obtained approximate results in the relevant literature agree with the current exact ones up to only two or three decimal places,at ***,the present approach along with the obtained results reflexes the effectiveness and efficiency of our analysis when compared with the corresponding study in the ***,the present results can be directly invested for similar future problems of the same constructions.

Carbon catabolite repression(CCR)plays a key role in many physiological and adaptive responses in a broad range of microorganisms that are commonly associated with eukaryotic *** a mixture of different carbon sources is available,CCR,a global regulatory mechanism,inhibits the expression and activity of cellular processes associated with utilization of secondary carbon sources in the presence of the preferred carbon *** is known to be executed by completely different mechanisms in different bacteria,yeast,and *** addition to regulating catabolic genes,CCR also appears to play a key role in the expression of genes involved in plant–microbe ***,we present a detailed overview of CCR mechanisms in various *** highlight the role of CCR in beneficial as well as deleterious plant–microbe interactions based on the available *** addition,we explore the global distribution of known regulatory mechanisms within bacterial genomes retrieved from public repositories and within metatranscriptomes obtained from different plant *** integrating the available literature and performing targeted meta-analyses,we argue that CCR-regulated substrate use preferences of microorganisms should be considered an important trait involved in prevailing plant–microbe interactions.

This paper is concerned with a singular second-order nonlinear boundary value problem with a time depending on derivative operator and posed on the positive half-line. The nonlinearity is derivative-dependent, which has singularities at t=0 and/or x=0, and may change sign. The method of the upper and lower solutions on unbounded domains combined with the topological degree theory are employed to prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions.

Cold expansion is an efficient way to improve the fatigue life of an open hole. In this paper, three finite element models have been established to crack growth from an expanded hole is simulated. Expansion and its degree influence are studied using a numerical analysis. Stress intensity factors are determined and used to evaluate the fatigue life. The residual stress field is evaluated using a nonlinear analysis and superposed with the applied stress field in order to estimate fatigue crack growth. Experimental test is conducted under constant loading. The results of this investigation indicate expansion and its degree are a benefit of fatigue life and a good agreement was observed between FEM simulations and experimental results.

A hydrodynamic model of thin, laminar, gravity-driven, wavy-film flow over a vertical plate was considered. To make advantage of the cyclic boundary conditions and due to the nature of the wavy flow, a solution based on a Fourier series was implemented. Two representative cases of practical importance were studied;Re = 25, Re = 100. This range of Reynolds numbers is of the most practical importance in the process industry. Multiple solutions were obtained. Most of these solutions are mathematically correct but physically are not. It is observed that realistic wave profiles are always obtained once we approach the Froude number corresponding to thin film.
