This paper describes the problem of doing description logic （DL） reasoning with partially closed world. The issue was addressed by extending the syntax of DL SROIQ with an NBox, which specifies the predicates to close, extending the semantics with the idea of negation as failure, reducing the closed world reasoning to incremental reasoning on classical DL ontologies, and applying the syntactic approximation technology to improve the reasoning performance. Compared with the existing DBox approach, which corresponds to the relation database, the NBox approach supports deduction on closed concepts and roles. Also, the approximate reasoning can reduce reasoning complexity from N2EXPTIME-complete to PTIME-complete while preserving the correctness of reasoning for ontologies with certain properties.

Effect of austempering on the transformation induced plasticity （TRIP） of hot rolled multiphase steel was investigated. Polygonal ferrite, granular bainite, and a large amount of stabiliz.d retained austenite could be obtained in the hot rolled multiphase steel. Strain induced martensite transformation （SIMT） of retained austenite and TRIP effectively occur under straining owing to austempering after hot rolling, and mechanical properties of the present steel remain at a relatively high constant value for austempering at 400℃. The mechanical properties of the steel exhibited a good combination of tensile strength （791MPa） and total elongation （36%） because the stability of retained austenite is optimal when the steel is held for 20min.

The Hot deformation and martensitic transformation behaviors of Fe-32%Ni alloy was investigated by measurements of electrical resistance and X-ray diffraction. With the increase in strain, the austenite goes through from the work-hardened to the partial dynamcally re-crystalliz.d and then to the completed dynamically re-crystalliz.d. The martensitic transformation characteristics depend on the austenite states. The work-hardening in small strain is helpful to martensitic transformation due to the low dislocation density and little lattice distortion, while the high dislocation density and severe lattice distortion by the increase in strain will hinder the martensitic nucleation. Once dynamic re-crystalliz.tion （ DRX ） takes place, the martensitic transformation will be enhanced again, which is related to the heterogeneous dynamic substructures. The growing DRX grain can enhance the martensitic nucleation due to the low dislocation density near its grain boundary.

Composites of carbon nanotubes and conducting polymers can be prepared via chemical synthesis, electrochemical deposition on pre- formed carbon nanotube electrodes, or by electrochemical co-deposition. The composites combine the large pseudocapacitance of the conducting polymers with the fast charging/discharging double-layer capacitance and excellent mechanical properties of the carbon nanotubes. The electrochemically co-deposited composites are the most homogeneous and show an unusual interaction between the polymer and nanotubes, giving rise to a strengthened electron delocalisation and conjugation along the polymer chains. As a result they exhibit excellent electrochemical charge storage properties and fast charge/discharge switching, making them promising electrode mate- rials for high power supercapacitors.
