The recent progress on the liquid crystalline(LC)dispersion of two-dimensional(2d)transition metal carbides(MXenes)has propelled this unique nanomaterial into a realm of high-performance architectures,such as films and ***ally,compared to architectures made from typical non-LC dispersions,those derived from LC MXene possess tunable ion transport routes and enhanced conductivity and physical properties,demonstrating great potential for a wide range of applications,such as electronic displays,smart glasses,and thermal camouflage *** review provides an overview of the progress achieved in the production and processing of LC MXenes,includ.n. critical discussions on satisfying the required conditions for LC *** also highlights how acquiring LC MXenes has broad.n.d the current solution-based manufacturing paradigm of MXene-based architectures,resulting in unpreced.n.ed performances in their conventional applications(e.g.,energy storage and strain sensing)and in their emerging uses(e.g.,tribology).Opportunities for innovation and foreseen challenges are also discussed,offering future research directions on how to further benefit from the exciting potential of LC MXenes with the aim of promoting their widespread use in designing and manufacturing advanced materials and applications.

In this paper we examine the use of terrestrial laser scan data for monitoring large rock cliffs in order to assess the d.n.mics of the slope condition prior to failure. The assessment presented uses a combination of this terrestrial data and air-borne mapping and imagery to explore the degree to which small-scale precursors to slope failure can be id.n.ified, and ultimately used to predict failure. The degree to which data is projected from any given perspective which represents the development of the slope is suggested to be critical. Here we present data that has been collected for four years at monthly intervals from over 35,000 m3 of near-vertical coastal rock face. This high-resolution data is used to id.n.ify characteristic spatial and temporal patterns in rockfall activity notably in the periods lead.n. to large-slope failures. To date in excess of 60,000 discrete events have been recorded ranging from 0.00001 m3 to 2,500 m3. The patterns in the data show similarity with time-depend.n. models of failure mechanisms, which may enable the prediction of failure occurrence both in time and in space. This interpretation is only reached however with appropriate and, in terms of survey, unconventional treatment. Analysis of the data derived from the laser scanning suggests that given sufficient measurement precision, precursory behavior can be id.n.ified and monitored but that the relative viewing angle of the observation compared to the vector of deformation is critical. In this instance pre-failure deformations are manifest as the rate of rock fall activity prior to failure, in addition to the direct measurement of the accumulation of the strain field across the failing rock face. The monitoring data implies a time-depend.n. sequence in the occurrence of rock falls in the period lead.n. to the largest failures recorded, often mirroring the hyperbolic increases in movement witnessed in standard displacement monitoring or laboratory simulation prior to failure. In recent decades, a lot of research has been conducted to explore poultry feed.n. behavior. However, up to now, the processes behind poultry feed.n. behavior remain poorly understood. The review generalizes modern expertise about the hormonal regulation of feed.n. behavior in chickens, focusing on signaling pathways mediated by insulin, leptin, and ghrelin and regulatory pathways with a cross-reference to mammals. This overview also summarizes state-of-the-art research devoted to hypothalamic neuropeptides that control feed intake and are prime candidates for predictors of feed.n. *** analysis of the signaling pathways that mediate the feed intake regulation allowed us to conclude that there are major differences in the processes by which hormones influence specific neuropeptides and their contrasting roles in feed intake control between two vertebrate clades.

A multi-shot target assembly and automatic alignment procedure for laser–plasma proton acceleration at high repetition rate are *** assembly is based on a multi-target rotating wheel capable of hosting more than 5000 targets,mounted on a 3d motorized stage to allow rapid replenishment and alignment of the target material between laser *** automatic alignment procedure consists of a detailed mapping of the impact positions at the target surface prior to the irradiation that ensures stable operation of the target,which alongside the purpose-built design of the target wheel,enables operation at rates up to 10 *** and continuous laser-driven proton acceleration at 10 Hz is demonstrated,with observed cut-off energy stability about 15%.

Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in the world, and obesity and the metabolic syndrome are risk factors for its development. One of the therapies to reduce cardiovascular risk is the use of polyunsaturated fatty acids. In Brazil, a source of such acid is the oil extracted from the fat of the capybara. The objective of this work is to study the effects of the capybara oil on lipid and glucose metabolism, as well as its effects on the adipose tissue and cardiac remodeling. We assessed the effects of capybara oil treatment on body mass, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, systolic blood pressure, adipose tissue and cardiac remodeling, and performed an ultrastructural evaluation of the myocardium in C57Bl/6 mice treated with high-fat diet. Treatment with capybara oil reduced total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, systolic blood pressure, visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue, and adipocyte diameter. In addition, cardiac remodeling was attenuated, preserving cardiomyocytes, increasing vascularization, reducing cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and the extracellular matrix, and preserving the morphological integrity of mitochondria. Capybara oil has several beneficial effects on the cardiovascular and metabolic system, and further studies are needed to better understand its role in the prevention or treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

BACKGROUnd Vaccine hesitancy is a major challenge in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVId-19)*** the sociodemographic factors associated with vaccine acceptance among nigerians is crucial for improving vaccine *** To assess the acceptance rate of COVId-19 vaccine and its related determinants among *** An online cross-sectional survey(observational study)was conducted between February 2021 and May 2021,using a questionnaire hosted on *** invitation to take part in the poll was sent out to participants through social networking platforms.A logistic regression was used to determine which sociodemographic factors were associated with vaccine acceptance *** A total of 1800 persons responded to the survey,a larger proportion of whom were males(53.9%)and within the age group of 21-30 years(29.4%)and earned an average income of less than$500 per month(43.3%).Only 0.56%of participants had a high perceived risk of COVId-19 infection,while only 1.11%had a perceived risk of dying from *** perception rate of the COVId-19 vaccine among participants was 51.1%,while the acceptance rate was 63.9%.There was no significant association between the COVId-19 vaccine acceptance rate and related determinants assessed,particularly age(χ²=3.049,P=0.550),sex(χ²=0.102,P=0.749),average income(χ²=3.802,P=0.875),and religion(χ²=2.819,P=0.420).Participants with chronic conditions demonstrated a higher acceptance rate compared to the general *** despite the positive perception observed and substantial vaccine acceptance rate among the study participants,more public health interventions are still needed to enhance vaccine acceptability in nigeria.

The pyramid wavefront sensor(PWFS)can provide the sensitivity needed for demand.n. adaptive optics applications,such as imaging exoplanets using the future extremely large telescopes of over 30 m of diameter(d).However,its exquisite sensitivity has a limited linear range of operation,or d.n.mic range,although it can be extended through the use of beam modulation—despite sacrificing sensitivity and requiring additional optical *** by artificial intelligence techniques,this work proposes to train an optical layer—comprising a passive diffractive element placed at a conjugated Fourier plane of the pyramid prism—to boost the linear response of the pyramid sensor without the need for cumbersome *** develop an end-2-end simulation to train the diffractive element,which acts as an optical preconditioner to the traditional least-square modal phase estimation *** results with a large range of turbulence conditions show a noticeable improvement in the aberration estimation performance equivalent to over 3λ∕d of modulation when using the optically preconditioned deep PWFS(dPWFS).Experimental results validate the advantages of using the designed optical layer,where the dPWFS can pair the performance of a traditional PWFS with 2λ∕d of *** and add.n. an optical preconditioner to the PWFS is just the tip of the iceberg,since the proposed deep optics methodology can be used for the design of a completely new generation of wavefront sensors that can better fit the demands of sophisticated adaptive optics applications such as ground-to-space and underwater optical communications and imaging through scattering media.
