Melan.ma is the deadliest form of skin.can.er an. has an.in.iden.e that is risin. faster than.an. other solid tumor. Metastatic melan.ma treatmen. has con.iderably progressed in.the past five years with the in.roduction.of targeted therapy(BRAF an. MEK in.ibitors) an. immun. checkpoin. blockade(an.i-CTLA4, an.i-PD-1, an. an.i-PD-L1). However, each treatmen. modality has limitation.. Treatmen. with targeted therapy has been.associated with a high respon.e rate, but with short-term respon.es. Con.ersely, treatmen. with immun. checkpoin. blockade has a lower respon.e rate, but with lon.term respon.es. Targeted therapy affects an.itumor immun.ty, an. syn.rgy may exist when.targeted therapy is combin.d with immun.therapy. This article presen.s a brief review of the ration.le an. eviden.e for the poten.ial syn.rgy between.targeted therapy an. immun. checkpoin. blockade.
