Effect of cryogenic rolling and annealing on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of 304 stainless steel

Metastable 304 austenitic stainless steel was subjected to rolling at cryogenic and room temperatures, followed by annealing at different temperatures from 500 to 950°C. Phase transition during annealing was studied using X-ray diffractometry. Transmission electron microscopy and electron backscattered diffraction were used to characterize the martensite transformation and the distribution of austenite grain size after annealing. The recrystallization mechanism during cryogenic rolling was a reversal of martensite into austenite and austenite growth. Cryogenic rolling followed by annealing refined grains to 4.7 μm compared with 8.7 μm achieved under room-temperature rolling, as shown by the electron backscattered diffraction images. Tensile tests showed significantly improved mechanical properties after cryogenic rolling as the yield strength was enhanced by 47% compared with room-temperature rolling.

Laizhou Bay provides a critical spawning and nursery habitat for many fishery species, including commercially important spe- cies, such as Fenneropenaeus chinensis and Larimichthys polyactis. The bay is severely stressed due to high fishing pressure and environmental changes. Based on the long-term ecosystem surveys in Laizhou Bay during the main spawning period （May） of most fishery species from 1959 to 2008, the responses of the Laizhou Bay fishery ecosystem were analyzed here, including regime shifts in species composition, biomass, species diversity, zooplankton, phytoplankton, and environmental variables. The dominant species of large-size and high economic value （e.g. Trichiurus haumela, L. polyactis） have been replaced by the short-lived, low-trophic-level planktivorous pelagic species （e.g. Setipinna taty, Engraulisjaponicus） since the 1980s, and it is probable that the small-sized pelagic fishes have been recently replaced by invertebrates （e.g. Oratosquilla oratoria, Crangon affinis）. The biomass of fishery resources declined continuously from 423.6 kg haul 1 h-1 in 1959 to 164.6 kg haul-l h i in 1982, 37.7 kg haul-1 h-1 in 1993, and less than 8 kg haul 1 h-a in 1998-2008. Moreover, the biomass of zooplankton showed an increasing trend during 1959-2006, but showed a slight decline in 2008. The abundance of phytoplankton increased from 1959 through 1982, decreased substantially in 1993, and increased again until 2004. More recently, however, the phytoplankton abundance was very low. The sea surface temperature （SST） and sea bottom temperature （SBT） in May increased by 0.23~C a-~ and 0.16~C a-~, respectively, during 1982-2008. The salinity in May showed large fluctuations and reached its lowest val- ues in 2004 and 2006. The ratio of dissolved inorganic nitrogen （DIN） to dissolved inorganic phosphate （DIP） increased. Zooplankton cyclops propagates profusely in waterbody, cannot be effectively inactivated by conventional disinfection process, and becomes a troublesome drinking water treatment problem. In this work, the qualitative and quantitative experimental studies were carried out on inactivation of zooplankton cyclops using oxidants, such as chlorine （Cl2）, chlorine dioxide （ClO2）, ozone （O3）, hydrogen peroxide （H2O2）, ozone/hydrogen peroxide （O3/H2O2）, chloramines （Cl2-NH3） and potassium permanganate （KM4nO4）. The influences of various factors include different oxidant dosages, organic substance contents and pH values. The results showed that currently available oxidants used all might inactivate cyclops in some extent. According to the experimental results, chlorine dioxide, ozone, ozone/hydrogen peroxide and chloramines can be selected as effective oxidants for inactivating cyclops because of their strong inactivation abilities. Then the synergic removal effects on cyclops with ozone, ozone/hydrogen peroxide pre-oxidation followed by conventional water treatment processes were investigated, The results showed that ozone and ozone/hydrogen peroxide pre-oxidation can inactivate cyclops effectively, which then can be removed thoroughly by conventional water treatment processes. Cyclops cannot appear in water after filtration with 1.65 mg/L of ozone and 6 mg/L of hydrogen peroxide, with the inactivation rate being 62% before conventional water treatment processes. Cyclops cannot appear in water after filtration with 1.8 mg/L of ozone, with the inactivation rate being 50% before conventional water treatment processes. For different oxidants, when removal rate was the best, the inactivation rate was not the same. These results may provide reference and model for actual waterworks.

In this study we investigate the collective behavior of the generalized Kuramoto model with an ex- ternal pinning force in which oscillators with positive and negative coupling strengths are conformists and contrarians, respectively. We focus on a situation in which the natural frequencies of the oscilla- tors follow a uniform probability density. By numerically simulating the model, it is shown that the model supports multistable synchronized states such as a traveling wave state, π state and periodic synchronous state： an oscillating π state. The oscillating π state may be characterized by the phase distribution oscillating in a confined region and the phase difference between conformists and contrar- ians oscillating around π periodically. In addition, we present the parameter space of the oscillating state and traveling wave state of the model.

为研究根土相互作用,量化草本植物根系对土体抗剪强度的增强作用,以Wu和Waldron提出的根系固土模型为基础,考虑根系分布剪切方向、锚固作用长度和有效根数量3个因素,提出了改进模型,对草本植物加筋模型进行改进优化,并利用该模型研究根系与剪切面初始夹角、根系直径等对固土能力的影响。结果表明:改进模型能够很好地拟合试验结果;随着根系与剪切面夹角的增大,逆斜交根系对土体的加筋贡献值先增大后减小,顺斜交根系对土体的加筋贡献值先为0后增大最后减小;随着根系直径的增大,不同分布角度的根系对土体的加筋贡献值均增大,且大致呈正比例关系。

Runt-related transcription factor 1(Runx1)plays a key role in cartilage formation,but its function in articular cartilage formation is *** generated non-inducible and inducible Runx1-deficient mice(Runx1^(f/f)Col2α1-Cre and Runx1^(f/f)Col2α1-CreER mice)and found that chondrocyte-specific Runx1-deficient mice developed a spontaneous osteoarthritis(OA)-like phenotype and showed exacerbated articular cartilage destruction under OA,characterized by articular cartilage degradation and cartilage ossification,with decreased Col2α1 expression and increased Mmp13 and Adamts5 ***-sequencing analysis of hip articular cartilage from the Runx1^(f/f)Col2α1-Cre mice compared to that from wild-type mice and subsequent validation analyses demonstrated that Runx1 is a central regulator in multiple signaling pathways,converging signals of the Hippo/Yap,TGFβ/Smad,and Wnt/β-catenin pathways into a complex network to regulate the expression of downstream genes,thereby controlling a series of osteoarthritic pathological ***-sequencing analysis of mutant knee joints showed that Runx1’s role in signaling pathways in articular cartilage is different from that in whole knee joints,indicating that Runx1 regulation is *** analysis confirmed that Runx1 deficiency decreased the levels of YAP and p-Smad2/3 and increased the levels of activeβ-*** of Runx1 dramatically increased YAP expression in ***-associated virus-mediated Runx1 overexpression in the knee joints of osteoarthritic mice showed the protective effect of Runx1 on articular cartilage damaged in *** results notably showed that Runx1 is a central regulator of articular cartilage homeostasis by orchestrating the YAP,TGFβ,and Wnt signaling pathways in the formation of articular cartilage and OA,and targeting Runx1 and its downstream genes may facilitate the design of novel therapeutic approaches for OA.

In order to achieve a high-quality joining of aluminum(Al)and copper(Cu)dissimilar metals,a new friction stir doubleriveting welding(FSDRW)with a Cu rod as the rivet was proposed,and the rotating tool with a large concave angle shoulder was specially *** results showed that under the thermal–mechanical effect of rotating tool,the Cu rod was deformed to be a double riveting heads structure with a Cu anchor at the upper surface of Al plate and an Al anchor above the lap interface of joint,and these two anchors greatly enhanced the mechanical interlocking of Al/Cu *** effective bonding interfaces were formed among the double riveting heads structure,the upper Al plate and the lower Cu plate,which contained the Cu/Cu interface and the Al/Cu *** Cu/Cu interface without the kissing bond and the Al/Cu interface with the rationally thin AlCu and Al_(2)Cu intermetallic compounds(IMCs)layers were beneficial to heightening the joint tensile shear *** maximum tensile shear load of the FSDRW joint achieved 5.52 kN,and the joint under different plunging depths of rotating tool presented a mixed mode of ductile fracture and brittle *** novel FSDRW technique owns the advantages of strong mechanical interlocking and superb metallurgical bonding,and provides a new approach to acquiring a high-quality Al/Cu dissimilar metals joint.

The removal of particles is of great importance in many fields including effluent treatment,mineral separation,clean metal production,***,most of the researchers paid their attention to the two-phase flow involving gas–liquid or solid–liquid *** motion and interaction between bubbles and particles in the swirling three-phase flow field were simulated by discrete phase *** swirling flow and the collision between bubbles and particles were governed by compiling the user-defined function *** centripetal pressure gradient force pushes the discrete phases toward the central region,where the collision rate between particle and bubbles is improved ***,it proved beneficially for particle removal to increase the swirling velocity,particularly for larger ***,bubble flotation is an effective method to remove particles from the *** swirling velocity was optimized,which is valuable for industrial design.
