Boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT)is recognized as a precise binary targeted radiotherapy technique that effectively eliminates tumors through the^(10)B(n,α)^(7)Li nuclear reaction.Among various neutron sources,accelerator-based sources have emerged as particularly promising for BNCT applications.The^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be reaction is highly regarded as a potential neutron source for BNCT,owing to its low threshold energy for the reaction,significant neutron yield,appropriate average neutron energy,and additional benefits.This study utilized Monte Carlo simulations to model the physical interactions within a lithium target subjected to proton bombardment,including neutron moderation by an MgF_(2)moderator and subsequent BNCT dose analysis using a Snyder head phantom.The study focused on calculating the yields of epithermal neutrons for various incident proton energies,finding an optimal energy at 2.7 MeV.Furthermore,the Snyder head phantom was employed in dose simulations to validate the effectiveness of this specific incident energy when utilizing a^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be neutron source for BNCT purposes.

Evaluation and Optimization of the Thermal Storage Performance of a Triplex-Tube Thermal Energy Storage System with V-Shaped Fins

Adding fins to a shell-and-tube phase change thermal storage is a simple and effective way to enhance the performance of the phase change heat storage unit,and the proper arrangement of the fins is essential to enhance the performance of the storage unit.To enhance the performance of the triplex-tube thermal storage unit,a novel V-shaped fin structure is presented in this paper.And the heat storage performance of the thermal storage system is studied by numerical simulation.Firstly,the performance of the triplex-tube thermal energy storage unit with different arrangements of V-shaped fins is investigated by a two-dimensional model and compared with the use of the traditional rectangular fin structure,and the optimal fin arrangement is derived.The results show that the V-shaped fins with the optimal arrangement can decrease the time for the PCM melting in the heat storage unit by 31.92%compared to the conventional rectangular fins.On this basis,the influence of fin angle and thickness on the heat storage unit was studied.Then,a three-dimensional model of the thermal storage unit was established.And the effect of the flow parameters(inlet temperature,inlet flow rate)of the heat transfer fluid(HTF)on its performance was discussed in detail.Finally,the stored energy analysis of the whole thermal storage unit is carried out.

Pre-mRNA splicing is an essential procedure for gene transcription. Through the cutting of introns and exons, the DNA sequence can be decoded into different proteins related to different biological functions.The cutting boundaries are defined by the donor and acceptor splice sites. Characterizing the nucleotides patterns in detecting splice sites is sophisticated and challenges the conventional methods. Recently, the deep learning frame has been introduced in predicting splice sites and exhibits high performance. It extracts high dimension features from the DNA sequence automatically rather than infers the splice sites with prior knowledge of the relationships, dependencies, and characteristics of nucleotides in the DNA sequence. This paper proposes the Attention Splice model, a hybrid construction combined with multi-head self-attention, convolutional neural network, bidirectional long short-term memory network.The performance of Attention Splice is evaluated on the Homo sapiens(Human) and Caenorhabditis Elegans(Worm) datasets. Our model outperforms state-of-the-art models in the classification of splice sites. To provide interpretability of Attention Splice models, we extract important positions and key motifs which could be essential for splice site detection through the attention learned by the model. Our result could offer novel insights into the underlying biological roles and molecular mechanisms of gene expression.

The origin of T cells in the teleost's brain is unclear.While viewing the central nervous system(CNS)as immune privileged has been widely accepted,previous studies suggest that T cells residing in the thymus but not in the spleen of the teleost play an essential role in communicating with the peripheral organs.Here,we identified nine T cell subpopulations in the thymus and spleen of orange-spotted grouper(Epinephelus coioices)through single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis.After viral CNS infection with red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus(RGNNV),the number of slc43a2^(+)T cells synchronously increased in the spleen and brain.During the infection tests in asplenic zebrafish(tlx1^▲zebrafish model),no increase in the number of slc43a2^(+)T cells was observed in the brain.Single-cell transcriptomic analysis indicated that slc43a2^(+)T cells mature and functionally differentiate within the spleen and then migrate into the brain to trigger an immune response.This study suggests a novel route for T cell migration from the spleen to the brain during viral infection in fish.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the influence of Saponin Ⅰ from Shuitianqi(Rhizoma Schizocapasae Plantagineae)(SSPH Ⅰ) on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) metastasis,and to elucidate the underlying mechanism.METHODS: The intrahepatic metastasis Bagg's Albino/c(BALB/c) mouse model was established with human hepatocellular carcinomas(HepG2) cells, then treated with normal saline(once per day), cisplatin(2 mg/kg, once every 2 d), and SSPH Ⅰ(25, 50, and 75 mg/kg, once per day). Then, we assessed alterations in the hepatic pathology and target protein expressions in the intrahepatic metastasis BALB/c mouse model using a series of molecular biology techniques.RESULTS: Based on our analysis, SSPH Ⅰ significantly alleviated hepatocyte necrosis and tumor cells infiltration.Moreover, SSPH Ⅰ suppressed extracellular matrix(ECM) degradation and angiogenesis via a decrease in matrix etalloproteinase-2(MMP-2), MMP-9, CD31, CD34,and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) levels.Furthermore, SSPH Ⅰ repressed invasion and metastasis by suppressing the transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β 1)/Smad7 axis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT), as evidenced by the scarce TGF-β1, Ncadherin, and Vimentin expressions, and elevated Smad7 and E-cadherin expressions.CONCLUSION: The SSPH Ⅰ-mediated negative regulation of the TGF-β 1/Smad7 axis and EMT are critical for the inhibition of HCC invasion and metastasis.

In order to facilitate crowdsourcing-based task solving, complex tasks are decomposed into smaller subtasks that can be executed by individual workers.Decomposing task into sequential subtasks attracts a plenty of empirical explorations. The absence of formal studies makes it difficult to provide task requesters with explicit guidelines on task decomposition strategy.We formally present the vertical task decomposition model by specifying the positive quality dependencies among sequential subtasks. Our focus is on addressing solutions of low quality intentionally provided by selfinterested workers who are paid equally or based on their contributions. By combining the theoretical analysis on workers’ strategic behaviors and experimental exploration on the efficiency of task decomposition, our study demonstrates the relationship between the incentive and the worker’s performance, and gives the explicit instructions on vertical task decomposition, which show promise on improving the quality of the final outcome.

In order to facilitate crowdsourcing-based task solving,complex tasks are decomposed into interdependent subtasks that can be executed cooperatively by individual workers.Aiming to maximize the quality of the final solution subject to the self-interested worker’s utility maximization,a key challenge is to allocate the limited budget among the subtasks as the rewards for workers having various levels of abilities.This study is the first attempt to show the value of Markov decision processes(MDPs)for the problem of optimizing the quality of the final solution by dynamically determining the budget allocation on sequentially dependent subtasks under the budget constraints and the uncertainty of the workers’ abilities.Our simulation-based approach verifies that compared to some offline methods where workers’ abilities are fully known,our proposed MDP-based payment planning is more efficient at optimizing the final quality under the same limited budget.

为提升机器人在杂乱环境中推抓协同性能、增强网络感知物体位置和物体间的位置信息的能力,提出一种基于物体位置信息的推动与抓取协同网络来解决机器人在杂乱环境中的抓取问题。该网络使用2个全卷积网络分别从视觉观察中推断出抓取和推动操作的位置与方向。使用坐标注意力模块分别沿着二维空间的2个方向聚合特征,即在水平空间方向上捕获长距离依赖关系的同时在垂直空间方向上保持物体的位置信息。然后生成推动和抓取的位置特征的注意力图,以提升网络推断操作位置的准确性。提出物体分散度从全局角度衡量环境中物体间的分散程度,并设计基于物体分散度的推动奖励函数来提升推动动作的质量。在仿真实验中,该网络的抓取成功率和动作效率分别为75.1%和73.2%。在现实世界中,该网络的抓取成功率和动作效率分别为80.1%和76.2%。
