In the two-dimensional(2D)melting transition of colloidal systems,the hexatic-isotropic(H-I)transition can be either first-order or ***,how particle dynamics differs at the single-particle level during these two different melting transitions remains to be *** this work,by Brownian dynamics(BD)simulations,we have systematically studied the dynamic behavior of corner-rounded hexagons during the H-I transition,for a range of corner-roundness𝜁=0.40 to 0.99 that covers the crossover from the continuous to first-order nature of H-I *** results show that hexagons with𝜁≤0.5 display a continuous H-I transition,whereas those with𝜁≥0.6 demonstrate a first-order H-I *** analysis shows different evolution pathways of the dominant cluster formed by migrating particles,which results in a droplet-like cluster structure for𝜁=0.40 hexagons and a tree-like cluster structure for𝜁=0.99 *** investigations on the hopping activities of particles suggest a cooperative origin of migrating *** work provides a new aspect to understand the dependence of the nature of H-I transition on the roundness of hexagons through particle dynamic behavior.

Proteomics Study of Benzene Metabolite Hydroquinone Induced Hematotoxicity in K562 Cells

Objective Hydroquinone(HQ),one of the phenolic metabolites of benzene,is widely recognized as an important participant in benzene-induced ***,there are few relevant proteomics in HQ-induced hematotoxicity and the mechanism hasn’t been fully understood *** In this study,we treated K562 cells with 40μmol/L HQ for 72 h,examined and validated protein expression changes by Label-free proteomic analysis and Parallel reaction monitoring(PRM),and performed bioinformatics analysis to identify interaction *** One hundred and eighty-seven upregulated differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)and 279 downregulated DEPs were identified in HQ-exposed K562 cells,which were involved in neutrophilmediated immunity,blood microparticle,and other GO terms,as well as the lysosome,metabolic,cell cycle,and cellular senescence-related *** on the 23 DEGs and 5 DEPs in erythroid differentiation-related pathways,we constructed the network of protein interactions and determined 6 DEPs(STAT1,STAT3,CASP3,KIT,STAT5B,and VEGFA)as main hub proteins with the most interactions,among which STATs made a central impact and may be potential biomarkers of HQ-induced *** Our work reinforced the use of proteomics and bioinformatic approaches to advance knowledge on molecular mechanisms of HQ-induced hematotoxicity at the protein level and provide a valuable basis for further clarification.

In recent years, the Hubble tension has emerged as one of the most perplexing enigmas within the realm of cosmology[1]. This incongruity suggests the tantalizing prospect of new physics beyond the standard ΛCDM model, leading to the proposal of diverse extended cosmological models. At the same time, there is a pressing demand for novel cosmological tools to mediate the Hubble tension. The gravitational-wave(GW) standard siren has been put forth as a promising cosmological probe for resolving the Hubble tension, provided that the redshift of the GW source is known, as exemplified in ref. [2].

Functionals on the Spaces of Convex Bodies

In geometry, there are several challenging problems studying numbers associated to convex bodies. For example, the packing density problem, the kissing number problem, the covering density problem, the packing-covering constant problem, Hadwiger＇s covering conjecture and Borsuk＇s partition conjecture. They are flmdamental and fascinating problems about the same objects. However, up to now, both the methodology and the technique applied to them are essentially different. Therefore, a common foundation for them has been much expected. By treating problems of these types as functionals defined on the spaces of n-dimensional convex bodies, this paper tries to create such a foundation. In particular, supderivatives for these functionals will be studied.

Microscopic and spectroscopic analysis of atmospheric iron-containing single particles in Lhasa,Tibet

The Tibetan Plateau,known as the“Third Pole”,is currently in a state of perturbation caused by intensified human *** this study,56 samples were obtained at the five sampling sites in typical area of Lhasa city and their physical and chemical properties were investigated by TEM/EDS,STXM,and NEXAFS *** careful examination of 3387single particles,the results showed that Fe should be one of the most frequent metal *** Fe-containing single particles in irregular shape and micrometer size was about7.8%and might be mainly from local ***,the Fe was located on the subsurface of single particles and might be existed in the form of iron ***,the core-shell structure of iron-containing particles were about 38.8%and might be present as single-,dual-or triple-core shell structure and multi-core shell structure with the Fe/Si ratios of 17.5,10.5,2.9 and 1.2,***,iron and manganese were found to coexist with identical distributions in the single particles,which might induce a synergistic effect between iron and manganese in catalytic ***,the solid spherical structure of Fe-containing particles without an external layer were about 53.4%.The elements of Fe and Mn were co-existed,and might be presented as iron oxide-manganese oxide-silica ***,the ferrous and ferric forms of iron might be *** information can be valuable in expanding our understanding of Fe-containing particles in the Tibetan Plateau atmosphere.

Assessing the Performance of a Dynamical Downscaling Simulation Driven by a Bias-Corrected CMIP6 Dataset for Asian Climate

In this study,we aim to assess dynamical downscaling simulations by utilizing a novel bias-corrected global climate model(GCM)data to drive a regional climate model(RCM)over the Asia-western North Pacific *** simulations were conducted with a 25-km grid spacing for the period 1980–*** first simulation(WRF_ERA5)was driven by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5(ERA5)dataset and served as the validation *** original GCM dataset(MPI-ESM1-2-HR model)was used to drive the second simulation(WRF_GCM),while the third simulation(WRF_GCMbc)was driven by the bias-corrected GCM *** bias-corrected GCM data has an ERA5-based mean and interannual variance and long-term trends derived from the ensemble mean of 18 CMIP6 *** demonstrate that the WRF_GCMbc significantly reduced the root-mean-square errors(RMSEs)of the climatological mean of downscaled variables,including temperature,precipitation,snow,wind,relative humidity,and planetary boundary layer height by 50%–90%compared to the WRF_***,the RMSEs of interannual-tointerdecadal variances of downscaled variables were reduced by 30%–60%.Furthermore,the WRF_GCMbc better captured the annual cycle of the monsoon circulation and intraseasonal and day-to-day *** leading empirical orthogonal function(EOF)shows a monopole precipitation mode in the WRF_*** contrast,the WRF_GCMbc successfully reproduced the observed tri-pole mode of summer precipitation over eastern *** improvement could be attributed to a better-simulated location of the western North Pacific subtropical high in the WRF_GCMbc after GCM bias correction.

Spatiotemporal variations in glacier area and surface velocity of the northern Antarctic Peninsula during 2018-2022

Ice sheet serves as a crucial indicator for assessing climate *** loss in recent remote sensing-based studies indicated that the Antarctic Peninsula has rapid rates of glacier retreat and speed up of surface ***,observations of seasonal variability of ice speed are limited,and glacier-area changes require multi-temporal *** study investigated the changes in area and surface velocities of∼375 glaciers on the northern Antarctic Peninsula(NAP)utilizing satellite images acquired by the Sentinel 1&2 satellites during *** results indicate that the glacier area reduced by approximately 166.1±44.2 km^(2)(-0.2%±0.1%per year)during the study period,with an acceleration after 2020(-0.4%±0.3%per year),and the most dramatic reduction happened on the eastern *** maximum annual ice speeds on the NAP generally exceeded 3500 m per year,while the ice speeds in 2021 were the highest(exceeded 4210 m per year).The ice speed variability in austral autumn was higher than in other seasons,meanwhile the summer ice speeds showed an increasing *** glacier G012158E47018N,McNeile Glacier,glacier G299637E64094S and Drygalski Glacier showed the most remarkable ice speed variations represented by high daily velocities and strong fluctuations on their *** results demonstrated that the variations in glacier area and seasonal ice speed on the NAP were responsive to the ice-ocean-atmosphere ***,seasonal velocity and area variations should be considered when conducting accurate mass balance calculations,model validations and change mechanism analyses under climate warming scenarios.

Balancing electron transfer and intermediate adsorption ability of metallic Ni-Fe-RE-P bifunctional catalysts via 4f-2p-3d electron interaction for enhanced water splitting

Balancing electron transfer and intermediate adsorption ability of bifunctional catalysts via tailoring electronic structures is crucial for green hydrogen production,while it still remains challenging due to lacking efficient ***,one efficient and universal strategy is developed to greatly regulate electronic structures of the metallic Ni-Fe-P catalysts via in-situ introducing the rare earth(RE)atoms(Ni-Fe-RE-P,RE=La,Ce,Pr,and Nd).Accordingly,the as-prepared optimal Ni-Fe-Ce-P/CC self-supported bifunctional electrodes exhibited superior electrocatalytic activity and excellent stability with the low overpotentials of 247 and 331 mV at 100 mA cm^(-2) for HER and OER,*** the assembled electrolyzer,the Ni-Fe-Ce-P/CC as bifunctional electrodes displayed low operation potential of 1.49 V to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),and the catalytic performance can be maintained for 100 *** results combined with density functional theory(DFT)calculation reveal that Ce doping leads to electron decentralization and crystal structure distortion,which can tailor the band structures and d-band center of Ni-Fe-P,further increasing conductivity and optimizing intermediate adsorption *** work not only proposes a valuable strategy to regulate the electron transfer and intermediate adsorption of electrocatalysts via RE atoms doping,but also provides a deep under-standing of regulation mechanism of metallic electrocatalysts for enhanced water splitting.

贺兰山地区在新生代之前经历了几次区域性的伸展活动 ,表现出显著的“多旋回”构造特点。而导致这些伸展活动的机制并不一样 ,更不是简单的重复。分析结果表明 ,该地区在早古生代不是拗拉槽 ,而更可能是北祁连岛弧靠大陆一侧的弧后盆地 ,在晚期演变为弧后前陆盆地。在此期间 ,其沉积表现出较典型的非补偿型前陆盆地的特征。在晚古生代 ,由于伸展的时间晚于造山期 ,因此该地区也不是所谓的碰撞谷 ,而是北祁连造山带及临近地区后期伸展跨塌的结果 ,伸展开始的时间发生在晚泥盆世晚期 ;在中生代早期 ,贺兰山地区北段由于受南侧的挤压发生伸展 ,因此不是前陆前渊而是碰撞谷。
