Herein,nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanotubes(NS-CNT)adsorbents were synthesized via the chemical vapor deposition technique at 1000°C by employing the camphor,urea and sulfur trioxide *** this study,desulfurization of two types of mercaptans(dibenzothiophene(DBT)and tertiary butyl mercaptan(TBM)as nonlinear and linear forms of mercaptan)was *** this regard,a maximum capacity of NS-CNT was obtained as 106.9 and 79.4 mg/g and also the removal efficiencies of 98.6%and 88.3%were achieved after 4 h at 298K and 0.9 g of NS-CNT for DBT and TBM,*** of the NS-CNTs was carried out through exploiting scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and elemental analysis(CHN).The isotherm equilibrium data could be ascribed to the Freundlich nonlinear regression form and the kinetic data was fitted by nonlinear form of the pseudo second order *** negative values of ΔS^(0),ΔH^(0) and ΔG^(0) specify that the adsorption of both types of mercaptans was a natural exothermic process with a reduced *** of more than 96%of the adsorption capacity even after nine cycles suggest the NS-CNT as a superior adsorbent for mercaptans removal in the *** functional theory(DFT)calculations were also performed to peruse the effects of S/N co-doping and carbon monovacancy defects in CNTs toward the adsorption of DBT and TBM.

From a financial point of view,urbanization frequently enforces the clients to construct superstructures near the slopes,giving rise to increasing the risk of building *** conducting a series of small-scale plate load tests,this work aims to investigate the effects of installing geotextile reinforcement layers in sandy slope and reducing the apex angle of triangular shell strip *** results show considerable effect of using geotextile-reinforced layers and decreasing the apex angle on the ultimate bearing capacity of shell *** increasing foundation distance from the slope,the adverse effect of the slope is ***,as the distance decreases,the effect of reinforcement and apex angle is *** practical applications,empirical equations are also presented for determining the ultimate bearing capacity of the footings and scale effect as ***,3D numerical simulations are executed and compared with the experimental results.

Microstrip Low-Pass Elliptic Filter Design Based on Implicit Space Mapping Optimization

It is a time-consuming and often iterative procedure to determine design parameters based on fine, accurate but expensive, models. To decrease the number of fine model evaluations, space mapping techniques may be employed. In this approach, it is assumed both fine model and coarse, fast but inaccurate, one are available. First, the coarse model is optimized to obtain design parameters satisfying design objectives. Next, auxiliary parameters are calibrated to match coarse and fine models’ responses. Then, the improved coarse model is re-optimized to obtain new design parameters. The design procedure is stopped when a satisfactory solution is reached. In this paper, an implicit space mapping method is used to design a microstrip low-pass elliptic filter. Simulation results show that only two fine model evaluations are sufficient to get satisfactory results.

The Study of the Symmetry in the Surface Structure of a Quasicrystal Al-Pd-Mn

In this paper, we are going to study the surface structure and existing symmetry by simulation of a quasicrystal Al-Pd- Mn. Quasicrystals have unique properties in their own structure. In the surface structure generally we should pay attention to two subjects. Firstly, what kind of atoms have situated on the surface and secondly the form of collecting atoms by each other sides. Usually, there are different ways for answer to these questions. In this study, Low Energy Ion Scattering (LEIS) technique has been applied. We select a representative cell by using gained information from Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED) technique, and give the information to the SABRE computer program. This computer program has been run for azimuthally angles 0 - 180 degrees in the intervals of 9 degree and its output has been analyzed for gaining azimuthally scan. The azimuthally scan shows the existing of a symmetry 72 degree on the surface of this quasicrystal.

Enhancing recovery of uranium column bioleaching by process optimization and kinetic modeling

This research aimed to enhance the column bioleaching recovery of uranium ore by Acidithiobacillus *** factors were examined for their significance on bioleaching using a Plackett-Burman factorial *** significant variables([Fe2+]initial,pH,aeration rate and inoculation percent)were selected for the optimization *** effect of these variables on uranium bioleaching was studied using a central composite design(CCD).The optimal values of the variables for the maximum uranium bioleaching recovery(90.27±0.98)%were as follows:[Fe2+]initial=2.89g/L,aeration rate420mL/min,pH1.45and inoculation6%(v/v).[Fe2+]initial was found to be the most effective *** maximum uranium recovery from the predicted models was92.01%.This value was in agreement with the actual experimental *** analysis of bioleaching residue of uranium ore under optimum conditions confirmed the formation of K-jarosite on the surface of *** using optimal conditions,uranium bioleaching recovery is increased at column and jarosite precipitation is *** kinetic model showed that uranium recovery has a direct relation with ferric ion concentration.

Optimization of Ilmenite Dissolution by Synergistic Effect of Oxalic Acid and Hydrochloric Acid for Preparing Synthetic Rutile

This study was carried out to investigate the interaction of oxalic acid with hydrochloric acid to attain the better performance for iron dissolution in comparison to absence of oxalic acid. The effects of oxalic acid on ratio of hydrochloric acid, acid concentration, ratio of liquid to solid, temperature and dissolution time are investigated for the dissolution of Fe and Ti from ilmenite to produce synthetic rutile. The DX7 software basing on an experimental design method with the central composite of response surface design is applied to specify the effects of the parameters and to optimize the leaching process. The optimum condition was determined by analysis of variance (ANOVA), indicating that the ratio of oxalic acid to hydrochloric acid for Fe dissolution and acid concentration for Ti dissolution were the most effective parameters. The results showed that the dissolution of Fe and Ti in 30% (w/w) hydrochloric acid solution was only 48.65% and 5.14%, respectively, while at the same condition and in the presence of oxalic acid with twice the ratio, these values are increased to 78.65% and 12.06%, respectively. The optimum values of parameters were as follows: oxalic acid to hydrochloric acid ratio (2:1), acid concentration (30%), ratio of liquid to solid (10), temperature (160 °C), and dissolution time (3 h). By applying the optimized parameters, Fe and Ti dissolution of 97.15% and 2.8% were predicted by the software with a desirability of 0.745. The results of leaching tests indicated that the Fe and Ti dissolution of 97.58% and 2.43%, were achieved, respectively, which are very close to the predicted value.

The Selection of Equipment and Parameters for Green Salt Production by Hydro-fluorination of UO2

According to the specific properties of UO2 obtained by the thermal decomposition and reduction of ammonium uranyl carbonate and the experimental data analysis of dynamics, in combination with the practical experience of production, we determined to use the hydro-fluorination process of horizontal stirred furnace. The productive operations and modifications for hydro-fluorination of UO2 are mainly summarized in this paper. The dimension of a furnace cylinder is 0.16 m × 2 m and two furnaces link up in series. Gas phase reacts with solid phase in counter flow. The temperature gradient of the reaction from the feed ends of raw material UO2 the discharge and of UF4 is 250-300-400-480 °C. The UF4 content in product is greater than/or equal to 92%, and the hydrogen fluoride concentration in tail gas is 20± 5%.

Management of Vascular Malformations in Dangerous Area of Oral Cavity: The Iranian Experience and Review of Treatment Modalities

Aim: To evaluate the effect of a highly potent corticosteroid (dexamethasone) in the treatment of vascular malformation when the location is difficult to reach and complications such as uncontrolled bleeding is predictable in surgery. Background: Vascular malformation is not a common lesion in oral cavity especially in alveolar ridge with extension to the pillar uvula. These lesions arise from capillary or venous malformations with various surgical or non-surgical treatment modalities. Case Description: We performed weekly intralesional injection of dexamethasone in a patient with a vascular malformation in alveolar ridge extending to the lingual side of alveolar ridge and posterior extension to the uvula. Complete resolution of lesion was observed after 6th injection. Conclusion: Intralesional injection of dexamethasone is a potentially curative method to treat oral vascular malformation. Clinical Significance: Injection of dexamethasone is a simple and cost-effective therapy that can be used as a safe treatment for vascular malformations prior to or as a substitute for surgery.
