Quantification of Effects of Natural Geographical Factors and Land-scape Patterns on Non-point Source Pollution in Watershed Based on Geodetector:Burhatong River Basin,Northeast China as An Example

Changes in natural geographic features and landscape patterns directly influence the hydrology and non-point source pollution processes in the watershed;however,to slow down non-point source pollution,it is necessary to distinguish their *** the non-point source pollution process is interactional as a result of multiple factors,and the collinearity between multiple independent variables limits our ability of reason ***,taking the Burhatong River Basin,Northeast China as an example,the methods of hydrological simulation,geographic detectors,and redundancy analysis have been combined to determine the impact of natural geographic features and landscape patterns on non-point source pollution in the *** Soil&Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)has been adopted to simulate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of total nitrogen and total phosphorus in the *** results show that the proportions of agricultural land and forest area and the location-weighted landscape contrast index(LWLI)are the main indicators influencing the rivers total nitrogen and total *** interaction of these indicators with natural geographic features and landscape configuration indicators also significantly influences the changes in total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP).Natural geographical features and landscape patterns have different comprehensive effects on non-point source pollution in the dry and wet *** and TP loads are affected mainly by the change in landscape pattern,especially in the wet *** the ecological restoration program has improved forest coverage,the purification effect of increased forest coverage on the water quality in the watershed may be offset by the negative impact of increased forest *** high concentration and complexity of farmland patches increase the risk of non-point source pollution spread to a certain extent.

Glutathione(GSH)plays a critical role in maintaining oxidation-reduction homeostasis in biological *** the detection of GSH by fluorescence sensors is limited by either the short wavelength emission or the poor photostability,a highly stable colorimetric and ratiometric NIR fluorescent sensor(DCM-S)for GSH detection has been constructed on the basis of dicyanomethylene-4H-pyran(DCM)*** specific disulfide bond is incorporated via a carbamate linker as the GSH responsive group,which simultaneously blue-shifts and quenches the *** addition of GSH,DCM-S exhibits outstanding colorimetric(from yellow to red)and ratiometric fluorescent response with the 6-fold enhancement of NIR fluorescence at 665 nm in quantum *** importantly,the GSH-treated DCM-S(DCM-NH_2 actually)possesses 20-fold longer fluorescence half-life period as well as much better photostability than the FDA-approved ***,the ratiometric detection of GSH is also successfully operated in the living cell imaging,exhibiting NIR fluorescence and large Stokes shift(215 nm)with nearly no background fluorescence *** a consequence,DCM-S can be utilized as colorimetric and ratiometric NIR fluorescent sensor for GSH,with a great potential in the development of GSH-induced drug delivery system.

A novel versatile dicyanomethylene-4H-pyran （DCM） based derivative bearing ferrocenyl group （DCM-N-Fc） is designed as modulator to construct ＂off-on＂ logic operation. The optical properties of DCM-N-Fc are characterized by absorption and steady-state fluorescence technique, showing that the fluorescence from DCM ehromophore via intramolecular charge transfer （ICT） is strongly quenched by photoinduced electron transfer （PET） process from ferrocene moiety. In contrast with the references （DCM-N and DCM-Fc）, the fluorescence of DCM-N-Fc can be triggered by oxidizing ferrocenyl unit either chemically or electrochemically, exhibiting a characteristic emission modulation at around 610 nm with an electrofluorochromic behavior. Furthermore, the free energy and the fluorescence lifetime in the PET path verify the thermodynamic feasibility. Cyclic voltammetry, absorption spectroscopy, time-resolved fluorescence as well as DFT calculation have been used to elaborate the manipulation via both PET and ICT processes.

Reconstructed index of summer monsoon dry-wet modes in East Asia for the last millennium

Monthly precipitation datasets collected at 160 stations in China as well as the monthly winds and humidity data derived from the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) were used to construct the relationship between six summer dry-wet modes in eastern China and the summer monsoon airflow northward advance in East Asia. A millennial series of the monsoon dry-wet index (MDWI) was reconstructed based on Wang's six summer dry-wet modes in eastern China since 950 AD. A high (low) index indicates that the strong (weak) East Asian summer monsoon airflow can reach northern (southern) China and cause above (below) normal precipitation. Interdecadal periodic variations, such as the approximate 70-year oscillation, can be found in the MDWI series. In the last millennium, northern China has experienced persistent decadal wet periods and persistent decadal dry periods. At present, the MDWI is a low period on the interdecadal time scale so above-normal precipitation is observed in southern China and below-normal precipitation in northern China.

Molecularly near-infrared fluorescent theranostics for in vivo tracking tumor-specific chemotherapy

Molecularly near-infrared(NIR) theranostics, combining in vivo sensing and tumor-specific therapeutic capability within one molecular system, have received considerable attention in recent years. Compared with the visible fluorescence imaging, NIR imaging(emission wavelength at 650–900 nm) possesses unique advantages including the minimum photodamage to biological samples, deep penetration, and low interference from auto-fluorescence. In over past decades, there has been an explosive development in the design of molecular imaging contrasts and imaging-guided therapeutics. In this review, we have sumarried the strategies of the NIR theranostics for imaging and tumor-specific chemotherapy applications in living systems. It is noted that the molecularly NIR theranostic design strategy could address current challenges of real-time in vivo sense-and-release for the intelligent biosensing and personalized treatment.

Catiline, Ibsen’s first play, has often been undervalued. Ibsen’s comments on this play that the ideas he expressed in this juvenile attempt are still what he thinks of after he has made great achievements in dramatic creation exactly show its true value. To a large extent, it is Catiline’s persistent pursuit of his ideal that may have moved the dramatist who has throughout his own life pursued his own ideal. What’s more, Ibsen may also have noticed the similar ethical dilemma that faces him and Catiline: the contraction between his earthly duties and his pursuit of the ideal.

Aggregation-induced emission(AIE) has drawn great attention worldwide for its unique optical phenomenon and huge potential applications. Since coined by Ben Zhong Tang et al. in 2001, AIE has been deeply investigated and widely utilized in many important areas, such as organic light-emitting diode(OLED), sensor, and bio-imaging. Herein, we highlight some important progress of AIE in these eighteen years, including the exploration of internal mechanism and potential applications. Furthermore,some other interestingly emissive behaviors, originating but distinguishing from the AIE concept, are presented. It is anticipated an overall understanding about AIE could be easily caught from this short review for scientists, no matter whether they are involved in this exciting and rising research area or not.

Hydrology plays a dominant role in wetland plant distribution and microbial composition, but few studies explicitly attempted to relate the linkage between wetland vegetation and microbial community. The present study consisted of five wetland plant communities along three adjacent flood gradients zones(zone 1 dominated by Carex appendiculat, zone 2 dominated by Eleocharis ovate, and zone 3 dominated by Phragmites australis/Bidens pilosa/Calamagrostis angustifolia, which formed separate, monoculture patches). Gram negative and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA) are more abundant in the site with short flooding period(zone 3) than in the site with long flooding period(zone 1), and they are also different in the P. australis, B. spilosa and C. angustifolia of zone 3. Principle Component Analysis(PCA) showed that the flooding period could explain 92.4% of variance in microbial composition. Redundancy Analysis(RDA) showed that available nitrogen(AN), total nitrogen(TN) and soil organic matter(SOM) could explain the 79.5% of variance in microbial composition among E. ovata, P. australis, B. pilosa and C. angustifolia. Results demonstrated that flooding period was the main factor in driving the microbial composition and plant-derived resources could influence soil microbial composition in the seasonally flooded zones.

Three structural modifications with incorporation of alkyl,alkoxy and vinyl bond into the skeleton of thiophene bridge in D-π-A featured organic sensitizers are specifically developed for insight into their influences on photophysical,electrochemical as well as photovoltaic properties in nanocrystalline TiO_2-based dye sensitized solar cells(DSSCs).The insertion of vinyl bond into the conjugation bridge leads to the molecular planar configuration,and the conjugation bridge of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene(EDOT)is prone to positively shift its highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO).The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)results indicate that the grafted long alkyl chain onto thiophene is favorable to suppress dye aggregation when adsorbed onto TiO_2film and modification on interface of TiO_2/dye/electrolyte,resulting in a relatively high open-circuit voltage(V_(oc)).Under optimized conditions,dye LS-4 bearing hexylthiophene as the conjugation bridge shows a relatively high overall conversion efficiency of5.45%,with a photocurrent of 11.61 mA cm^(-2),V_(oc)of 744 mV.
