This paper reported a simple and effective method for fabricating and patterning highly ordered ZnO nanorod arrays on H2-decomposed GaN epilayer via hydrothermal route. The edge of pattern, which has been decomposed by H2 flow, provides appropriate nucleation sites for the selective-growth of aligned ZnO nanorods. The density of ZnO nanorod arrays assembled the hexagonal pattern can be tuned by varying the solution concentrations, growth time and reaction temperatures. The results have demonstrated that the ZnO nanorods are highly uniform in diameter and height with perfect alignment and are epitaxially grown along [0001] direc- tion. This work provides a novel and accessible route to prepare oriented and aligned ZnO nanorod arrays pattern. And the aligned ZnO nanorods form an ideal hexagonal pattern that might be used in many potential applications of ZnO nanomaterials.

The principle and technique details of recoil ion momentum imaging are discussed and summarized. The recoil ion momentum spectroscopy built at the Institute of Modern Physics (Lanzhou) is presented. The first results obtained at the setup are analyzed. For 30 keV He2+ on He collision, it is found that the capture of single electron occurs dominantly into the first excited states, and the related scattering angle results show that the ground state capture occurs at large impact parameters, while the capture into excited states occurs at small impact parameters. The results manifest the collision dynamics for the sub-femto-second process can be studied through the techniques uniquely. Finally, the future possibilities of applications of the recoil ion momentum spectroscopy in other fields are outlined.

The rates of maize breakage and entrainment loss are high in the harvest of high-moisture maize,which remains an issue with the development of agricultural *** order to reduce the maize breakage and entrainment loss rates,the correlations among key factors,such as the threshing cylinder speed,concave clearance and feeding rate,and the rates of breakage and entrainment loss during high-moisture maize harvesting were studied in this paper.A single-factor experiment was carried out using a single-longitudinal-axial flow maize harvester,and an orthogonal experiment was carried out using single-and double-longitudinal-axial flow maize harvesters with the Taguchi experimental design *** single-factor experiment revealed that when the cylinder speed increased,the breakage rate of maize decreased first and then increased,while the entrainment loss rate *** breakage rate of maize decreased as the concave clearance increased,while the entrainment loss rate decreased first and then *** optimum value of the concave clearance was positively correlated with the ear diameter of maize;Additionally,the minimum breakage rate of maize occurred when the feeding rate was at the rated value,and the entrainment loss rate increased as the feeding rate *** orthogonal experiments revealed that the importance of cylinder speed,feeding rate,concave clearance on the maize breakage and entrainment loss rates were in descending *** optimum values of parameters for the single-longitudinal-axial flow maize harvester were 370 r/min cylinder speed,40 mm concave clearance and 10 kg/s feeding *** optimum values of parameters the double-longitudinal-axial flow maize harvester were 550 r/min cylinder speed,35 mm concave clearance and 10 kg/s feeding *** research can provide a reference for parameter configuration and control strategy for the longitudinal-axial flow maize harvester with high-moisture maize.

Effect of Gap Size on Seedling Establishment of Tsuga longibracteata

Effects of three gaps which are large (118 m2), medium (86 m2) and small (20 m2), respectively, and under canopy of Tsuga longibracteata forest on the seedling establishment of T. longibracteata were studied through seed burial experiments from December 2003 to January 2005 in Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve of Fujian, China. The results showed that the area of gap had an evident effect on the seedling establishment of T. longibracteata. The seedling emergence rates of T. longibracteata in plots of large gap, medium gap, small gap and under canopy were 10%, 10%, 4% and 6%, representing an increasing trend along with the gap size increasing without a significant difference. Rain eroding and insects feeding were two main factors leading to seedling death. The larger the gap size was, the more seedlings were killed by rain erosion and the fewer seedlings were killed by insects feeding. The emergence time of seedlings was almost same in all plots while their death time was different respectively. The gap size had a significant impact on seedling survival rate. The seedling survival rate was highest in the medium gap plot (27.0%) and next to the highest in large gap plot (7.3%), and seedling in small gap plot and under canopy plot died out after one growing season. Increased light supply in gaps was favorable for the seedlings growth and survival. Increased light supply in the large gap could enhance the growth of seedling leaf and root of T. longibracteata, and the seedling in turn allocated more dry mass to root and leaf, but it has little impact on the growth of stem. This research indicates that T. longibracteata is a pioneer species and its seedling establishment need a medium or large gap (>50 m2).

The microstructures of two kinds of Cu-Ni alloys were observed by *** results show that one of the alloys is a homogeneous solid *** other contains discontinuous precipitates at some grain boundaries,and the precipitate is a phase rich in *** monitoring the corrosion potential(E_(con))in artifical seawater and exposure to natural seawater for a long time,it is found that the E_(con)of the former alloy steadily decreases,while the E_(con)of the latter decreases a little and fluctuates,and the corrosion rate of the former is clearly lower than that of the *** of SEM and EDX show that the corrosion product film of the former is thin,uniform,compact and rich in nickel,and the film of the latter is thick,loose and covered with numerous *** serious intergranular corrosion occurs in the underlying substrate of the *** author proposes that the intergraular corrosion results from preferential dissolution of discontinuous precipitates at grain *** addition,the protective characteristics of corrosion product films are related not only to the enrichment of nickel but also to their compactness.

This paper addresses the problem of Blind Source Separation (BSS) and presents a new BSS algorithm with a Signal-Adaptive Activation (SAA) function (SAA-BSS). By taking the sum of absolute values of the normalized kurtoses as a contrast function, the obtained signal-adaptive activation function automatically satisfies the local stability and robustness conditions. The SAA-BSS exploits the natural gradient learning on the Stiefel manifold, and it is an equivariant algorithm with a moderate computational load. Computer simulations show that the SAA-BSS can perform blind separation of mixed sub-Gaussian and super-Gaussian signals and it works more efficiently than the existing algorithms in convergence speed and robustness against outliers.
