Spatial Heterogeneity and Influencing Factors of HFRS Epidemics in Rural and Urban Areas:A Study in Guanzhong Plain of Shaanxi Province,China

Objective The Guanzhong Plain of Shaanxi Province is a severely afflicted hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS)epidemic area,while HFRS prevalence has decreased in most epidemic areas in China.little information is available regarding the leading fine-scale influencing factors in this highly HFRSconcentrated area and the roles of natural environmental and socioeconomic factors.To investigate this,two regions in the Guanzhong Plain,that is,the Chang’an District and Hu County,with similar geographical environments,different levels of economic development,and high epidemic prevalence,were chosen as representative areas of the HFRS epidemic.Methods Maximum entropy models were constructed based on HFRS cases and fine-scale influencing factors,including meteorological,natural environmental,and socioeconomic factors,from 2014 to 2016.Results More than 95% of the HFRS cases in the study area were located in the northern plains,which has an altitude of less than 800 m,with topography contributed 84.1% of the impact on the spatial differentiation of the HFRS epidemic.In the northern plains,precipitation and population density jointly affected the spatial differentiation of the HFRS epidemic,with contribution rates of 60.7% and 28.0%,respectively.By comparing the influencing factors of the northern plains of Chang’an District and Hu County,we found that precipitation and the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)dominated the HFRS epidemic in the relatively developed Chang’an District,while land-use type,temperature,precipitation and population density dominated the HFRS epidemic in the relatively undeveloped Hu County.Conclusion Topography was the primary key factor for HFRS prevalence in the Chang’an District and Hu County,and the spatial differentiation of HFRS was dominated by precipitation and population density in the northern plains.Compared with the influencing factors of the relatively developed Chang’an District,the developing Hu County was more affected by socioeconomic factors.When formulating target

Lateral photovoltaic effect in the Ni-SiO_(2)-Si structure with bias

We designed a clamping device to study lateral photovoltaic effect (LPE) in Ni-SiO_(2)-Si structure with bias due to the appropriate barrier height.The LPE has a prominent sensitivity and linearity with 532 nm wavelength laser.The transient response time is 450μs and the relaxation time is 2 250μs in the Ni-SiO_(2)-Si structure without bias.The LPE sensitivity has a significant improvement with bias.The transient response time is 6μs and the relaxion time is 47μs with-7 V bias,not only improving the LPE sensitivity,but also increasing the response speed with bias.The research shows that the Schottky barrier structure can improve the sensitivity and linearity of LPE with bias effectively,and thus it can be used in position sensitive sensors.

Hole-Transporting Materials with Rational Combination of Pyridine and Dibenzo[a,c]phenazine as Electron Acceptor for Dopant-Free Perovskite Solar Cells

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have been proven to be a promising option for photovoltaic conversion.With the aim to achieve efficient and stable PSCs,it is essential to explore dopant-free hole-transporting materials(HTMs)with high hole mobility.Herein,HTMs bearing electron donor(D)-electron acceptor(A)-electron donor(D)structures have been constructed with strong intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)effect,based on rational combination of dibenzo[a,c]phenazine and pyridine as electronic acceptors and anchoring groups to perovskite layer.Accordingly,high hole mobility(7.31×10^(-5) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1))and photoelectric conversion efficiency(20.45%)have been achieved by dopant-free DPyP-based PSC.It afforded an efficient way to design HTMs with high hole mobility by adjustment of molecular configurations and electronic property of conjugated systems.

Differential expression of miRNAs and mRNAs in the livers of largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides under heat stress

Global warming threatens freshwater ecosystems and compromises fish survival.To elucidate the role of miRNAs in the livers of heat stressed largemouth bass,juvenile fish was subject to heat stress under 37°C.Both mRNA-seq and miRNA-seq were conducted on the liver tissues under control and heat stress conditions.Differential gene expression analysis and enrichment analysis were performed on mRNA and miRNA expression profiles.A total of 406 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were discovered,of which 212 were up-regulated and 194 were down-regulated.Most of the DEGs were significantly implicated in the regulation of“protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum”,“proteasome”,“steroid biosynthesis”,and“ornithine decarboxylase inhibitor activity”pathways.In addition,47 differentially expressed miRNAs(DEMs)were identified in largemouth bass livers under heat stress,including 21 up-regulated and 25 down-regulated miRNAs.A negatively regulated miRNA-mRNA network including 12 miRNAs and 19 mRNAs was constructed with DEMs involved in“protein degradation”,“calcium ion regulation”,“cell apoptosis”,and“lipid metabolism”.Moreover,this study indicated novel-miR-144 activated the IRE1 signaling pathway by targeting txndc5 to induce liver apoptosis in largemouth bass under heat stress.This study revealed the involvement of miRNA regulation in largemouth bass in response to heat stress.

Leaching kinetics of fluorine during the aluminum removal from spent li-ion battery cathode materials

The high content of aluminum(Al)impurity in the recycled cathode powder seriously affects the extraction efficiency of Nickel,Cobalt,Manganese,and lithium resources and the actual commercial value of recycled materials,so Al removal is crucially important to conform to the industrial standard of spent li-ion battery cathode materials.In this work,we systematically investigated the leaching process and optimum conditions associated with Al removal from the cathode powder materials collected in a wet cathode-powder peeling and recycling production line of spent li-ion batteries(liBs).Moreover,we specifically studied the leaching of fluorine(F)synergistically happened along with the removal process of Al,which was not concerned about in other studies,but one of the key factors affecting pollution prevention in the recovery process.The mechanism of the whole process including the leaching of Al and F from the cathode powder was indicated by using NMR,FTIR,and XPS,and a defluoridation process was preliminarily investigated in this study.The leaching kinetics of Al could be successfully described by the shrinking core model,controlled by the diffusion process and the activation energy was 11.14 kJ/mol.While,the leaching of F was attributed to the dissolution of liPF6and decomposition of PVDF,and the kinetics associated was described by Avrami model.The interaction of Al and F is advantageous to realize the defluoridation to some degree.It is expected that our investigation will provide theoretical support for the large-scale recycling of spent liBs.

Poly(3-hexylthio) thiophene Field-effect Transistor Device Performance: Impact of the Content of Hexylthio Side Chain on Backbone

Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-25) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.

Originating but free from chromosomal DNA,extrachromosomal circular DNAs(eccDNAs)are organized in circular form and have long been found in unicellular and multicellular eukaryotes.Their biogenesis and function are poorly understood as they are characterized by sequence homology with linear DNA,for which few detection methods are available.Recent advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies have revealed that eccDNAs play crucial roles in tumor formation,evolution,and drug resistance as well as aging,genomic diversity,and other biological processes,bringing it back to the research hotspot.Several mechanisms of eccDNA formation have been proposed,including the breakage-fusion-bridge(BFB)and translocation-deletion-amplification models.Gynecologic tumors and disorders of embryonic and fetal development are major threats to human reproductive health.The roles of eccDNAs in these pathological processes have been partially elucidated since the first discovery of eccDNA in pig sperm and the double minutes in ovarian cancer ascites.The present review summarized the research history,biogenesis,and currently available detection and analytical methods for eccDNAs and clarified their functions in gynecologic tumors and reproduction.We also proposed the application of eccDNAs as drug targets and liquid biopsy markers for prenatal diagnosis and the early detection,prognosis,and treatment of gynecologic tumors.This review lays theoretical foundations for future investigations into the complex regulatory networks of eccDNAs in vital physiological and pathological processes.

Classification of anatomical morphology of cystic duct and its association with gallstone

BACKGROUND Gallstones are common lesions that often require surgical intervention.Laparo-scopic cholecystectomy is the treatment of choice for symptomatic gallstones.Preoperatively,the anatomical morphology of the cystic duct(CD),needs to be accurately recognized,especially when anatomical variations occur in the CD,which is otherwise prone to bile duct injury.However,at present,there is no optimal classification system for CD morphology applicable in clinical practice,and the relationship between anatomical variations in CDs and gallstones remains to be explored.AIM To create a more comprehensive clinically applicable classification of the morphology of CD and to explore the correlations between anatomic variants of CD and gallstones.METHODS A total of 300 patients were retrospectively enrolled from October 2021 to January 2022.The patients were divided into two groups:The gallstone group and the nongallstone group.Relevant clinical data and anatomical data of the CD based on magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography(MRCP)were collected and analyzed to propose a morphological classification system of the CD and to explore its relationship with gallstones.Multivariate analysis was performed using logistic regression analyses to identify the independent risk factors using variables that were significant in the univariate analysis.RESULTS Of the 300 patients enrolled in this study,200(66.7%)had gallstones.The mean age was 48.10±13.30 years,142(47.3%)were male,and 158(52.7%)were female.A total of 55.7%of the patients had a body mass index(BMI)≥24 kg/m2.Based on the MRCP,the CD anatomical typology is divided into four types:Type I:linear,type II:n-shaped,type III:S-shaped,and type IV:W-shaped.Univariate analysis revealed differences between the gallstone and nongallstone groups in relation to sex,BMI,cholesterol,triglycerides,morphology of CD,site of CD insertion into the extrahepatic bile duct,length of CD,and angle between the common hepatic duct and CD.According to the multivariate analysis,female,BMI(≥24 kg/m2)

Background:Acute suppurative terminal cholangitis(ASTC)is rarer than acute obstructive cholangitis and is not well studied.To explore this subtype of acute cholangitis,we described our clinical experience with ASTC.Methods:We performed a retrospective review of patients with ASTC admitted to our center from September 2014 to August 2020.We analyzed their clinical characteristics,including etiology,clinical manifestations,imaging features,treatment and prognosis.Results:A total of 32 ASTC patients were included in the analysis.The majority of the patients had a history of biliary operations,and clinical manifestations were occult and atypical.The positive rate of bacterial culture was 46.9%.All the patients had typical imaging features on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.Treatment with effective antibiotics was provided as soon as diagnosis was established.After treatment,most patients had a good outcome.Elevated levels of total bilirubin,aspartate aminotransferase,procalcitonin and gamma-glutamyltransferase were the characteristics of critically ill patients and were associated with relatively poor prognosis.Conclusions:Our results demonstrated that ASTC should be recognized as a new subtype of acute cholangitis,and that earlier diagnosis and more personalized treatments are needed.

Clinical analysis of multiple primary gastrointestinal malignant tumors:A 10-year case review of a single-center

BACKGROUND Multiple primary malignant tumors(MPMTs)was first described by Billroth as early as 1889,with the first report published by Warren and Gates in 1932.Since then,numerous cases have been reported.A literature review of 1104269 patients with cancer revealed that the incidence of MPMTs ranged from 0.73 to 11.7%.In recent years,however,there has been a significant upward trend in the incidence of this phenomenon,which may be associated with many different factors,including the advancement of modern diagnostic procedures facilitating the examination and diagnosis of more MPMTs,increased exposure to chemotherapy and radiotherapy that exacerbate the risk of new malignant tumors in patients with cancer,and prolonged survival of patients with cancer allowing sufficient time for the development of new primary cancers.AIM To analyze the incidence,clinical features,treatment factors,prevalence,and prognosis of patients with MPMTs in the gastrointestinal tract treated in a single center.Additionally,we analyzed the different tumor combinations,time interval between the occurrence of tumors,and staging.METHODS This retrospective cohort study analyzed 8059 patients with pathologically confirmed gastrointestinal malignant tumors treated at the Gansu Province Hospital in Lanzhou,Gansu,China between June 2011 and June 2020.Of these,85 patients had MPMTs.The clinical features,treatment factors,prevalence,and prognosis of this latter cohort were analyzed.RESULTS The incidence of MPMTs in patients with gastrointestinal malignant tumors was 1.05%(85/8059),including 83 double primary malignant tumors and two triple primary malignant tumors of which 57(67.06%)were synchronous MPMTs(SMPMTs)and 28(32.94%)were metachronous MPMTs(MMPMTs).The most frequent associations were found between the rectum colon cancers within the SMPMT category and the gastric-colon cancers within the MMPMT category.For the MMPMTs,the median interval was 53 months.The overall 1-,3-and 5-year survival rates from diagnosis of the first primary cancer were 9
