The ^(232)Th(n,f)cross section is very important in basic nuclear physics and applications based on the Th/U fuel *** the time-of-flight method and a multi-cell fast-fission ionization chamber,a novel measurement of the^(232)Th(n,f)cross sec-tion relative to^(235)U in the 1.200 MeV range was performed at the china Spallation Neutron Source Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission event-neutron energy spectra of^(232)Th and^(235)U fission cells were measured in the single-bunch *** 232Th/235U fission cross-sectional ratios were obtained,and the measurement uncertainties were 2.5–3.7%for energies in the 2–20 MeV range and 3.6–6.2%for energies in the 20–200 MeV ***^(232)Th(n,f)cross section was obtained by introducing the standard cross section of^(235)U(n,f).The results were compared with those of previous theoreti-cal calculations,measurements,and *** measured 232Th fission cross section agreed with the main evaluation results in terms of the experimental uncertainty,and 232Th fission resonances were observed in the 1.3 MeV *** present results provide^(232)Th(n,f)cross-sectional data for the evaluation and design of Th/U cycle nuclear systems.

We report the properties of more than 800 bursts detected from the repeating fast radio burst(FRB)source FRB 20201.24A with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope during an extremely active episode on UTC 2021.September 25th-28th in a series of four *** this fourth paper of the series,we present a systematic search of the spin period and linear acceleration of the source object from both 996 individual pulse peaks and the dedispersed time *** credible spin period was found from this data *** rule out the presence of significant periodicity in the range between 1.ms and 1.0 s with a pulse duty cyclelinear acceleration up to 300 m s^(-2)in each of the four one-hour observing sessions,and up to 0.6 m s^(-2)in all 4 *** searches contest theoretical scenarios involving a 1.ms–1.0 s isolated magnetar/pulsar with surface magnetic field1.^(1.)G and a small duty cycle(such as in a polar-cap emission mode)or a pulsar with a companion star or black hole up to 1.0 M_(⊙)and P_(b)>1. *** also perform a periodicity search of the fine structures and identify 53 unrelated millisecond-timescale“periods”in multicomponents with the highest significance of 3.9σ.The“periods”recovered from the fine structures are neither consistent nor harmonically *** they are not likely to come from a spin *** caution against claiming spin periodicity with significance below~4σwith multi-components from one-off *** discuss the implications of our results and the possible connections between FRB multi-components and pulsar microstructures.

The global spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)requires an urgent need to find effective therapeutics for the treatment of coronavirus disease 201.(COVID-1.).In this study,we developed an integrative drug repositioning framework,which fully takes advantage of machine learning and statistical analysis approaches to systematically integrate and mine large-scale knowledge graph,literature and transcriptome data to discover the potential drug candidates against *** in silico screening followed by wet-lab validation indicated that a poly-ADP-ribose polymerase 1.PARP1.inhibitor,CVL21.,currently in Phase I clinical trial,may be repurposed to treat *** in vitro assays revealed that CVL21. can exhibit effective inhibitory activity against SARS-CoV-2 replication without obvious cytopathic *** addition,we showed that CVL21. can interact with the nucleocapsid(N)protein of SARS-CoV-2 and is able to suppress the LPS-induced production of several inflammatory cytokines that are highly relevant to the prevention of immunopathology induced by SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Although the efficacy of tuberculosis (TB) vaccines is tightly linked to cell-mediated immunity, some functions of T and B cells in TB patients remain unclear. To address how Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection inhibits T effector responses, we assessed the proportions of T cell subsets and B cells in peripheral blood from pulmonary TB (PTB) patients, pleural TB (PLTB) patients, and healthy subjects (HS, who showed purified protein derivative (PPD)-positive reactions) with flow cytometry. Compared to HS, PTB and PLTB patients exhibited higher proportions of B cells and Th1. cells, and lower proportions of Th2 cells and ratios of Th1.to Th1. cells and of Th2 to Th1. cells. PTB patients had higher CD4+ T cells and PD-1. CD4+ T cells than HS. Newly diagnosed PTB patients (nPTB) had higher proportions of B cells than HS;in contrast, PTB patients subjected to effective treatments (oPTB) and HS shared similar proportions of B cells. oPTB patients had higher proportions of CD4+ T cells, Th1. cells, and PD-1. CD4+ T cells than HS, but this difference did not occur in nPTB patients. These findings suggest that shifting ratios of Th1.to Th1. cells may be beneficial for M. tuberculosis to amplify.

Nucleic acids are natural biopolymers of nucleotides that store, encode, transmit and express genetic information, which play central roles in diverse cellular events and diseases in living things. The analysis of nucleic acids and nucleic acids-based analysis have been widely applied in biological studies, clinical diagnosis, environmental analysis, food safety and forensic *** the past decades, the field of nucleic acids analysis has been rapidly advancing with many technological *** this review, we focus on the methods developed for analyzing nucleic acids, nucleic acids-based analysis, device for nucleic acids analysis, and applications of nucleic acids analysis. The representative strategies for the development of new nucleic acids analysis in this field are summarized, and key advantages and possible limitations are discussed. Finally, a brief perspective on existing challenges and further research development is provided.

The COVID-1. pandemic poses a global threat to public health and *** continuously emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants present a major challenge to the development of antiviral agents and *** this study,we identified that EK1.and cholesterol-coupled derivative of EK1.EK1.4,as pan-CoV fusion inhibitors,exhibit potent antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 infection in both lung-and intestine-derived cell lines(Calu-3 and Caco2,respectively).They are also effective against infection of pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 variants B.1.1.7(Alpha)and B.l.1.248(Gamma)as well as those with mutations in S protein,including N41.T,E484K,N501.,and D61.G,which are common in South African and Brazilian *** structure revealed that EK1.targets the HR1.domain in the SARS-CoV-2 S protein to block virus-cell fusion and provide mechanistic insights into its broad and effective antiviral *** administration of EK1.peptides to hACE2 transgenic mice significantly reduced viral titers in lung and intestinal ***1.showed good safety profiles in various animal models,supporting further clinical development of EK1.based pan-CoV fusion inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.

The synthesis of ferrierite(FER)zeolite using piperidine as an organic structure‐directing agent was investigated.X‐ray diffraction,X‐ray fluorescence,N2‐adsorption,and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the crystal phases,textural properties,and particle morphologies of the zeolite *** crystallization behavior of the FER zeolite was found to be directly related to crystallization ***1.0?C,pure FER phase was observed throughout ***1.0–1.0?C,MWW phase appeared first and gradually transformed into FER phase over time,indicating that the FER phase was thermodynamically *** the piperidine‐Na2O‐H2O synthetic system,alkalinity proved to be the crucial factor determining the size and textural properties of FER ***,the obtained FER samples exhibited good catalytic performance in the skeletal isomerization of1.butene.

Neisseria meningitidis is the leading cause of bacterial meningitis and classified into 1.serogroups based on the immunological reactivity of the capsular polysaccharide.1.Serogroups A, B, C, W1.5 and Y are the most common causes of meningitis.2 Among them, serogroup A and C are the major causes of epidemics in Africa and Asia.2 Most of the epidemic outbreaks of meningococcal meningitis are caused by serogroup A Neisseria meningitidis strain from the 1.50s to the 1.80s in china.3 During the years 2003 and 2005, a new sequence type （ST-4821. of serogroup C was identified in the Anhui and 1. other provinces of china.4
