When investigating the vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of marine risers,extrapolating the dynamic response on the entire length based on limited sensor measurements is a crucial step in both laboratory experiments and fatigue monitoring of real *** problem is conventionally solved using the modal decomposition method,based on the principle that the response can be approximated by a weighted sum of limited vibration ***,the method is not valid when the problem is underdetermined,i.e.,the number of unknown mode weights is more than the number of known *** study proposed a sparse modal decomposition method based on the compressed sensing theory and the Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit(Co Sa MP)algorithm,exploiting the sparsity of VIV in the modal *** the validation study based on high-order VIV experiment data,the proposed method successfully reconstructed the response using only seven acceleration measurements when the conventional methods failed.A primary advantage of the proposed method is that it offers a completely data-driven approach for the underdetermined VIV reconstruction problem,which is more favorable than existing model-dependent solutions for many practical applications such as riser structural health monitoring.

Reducing kinetic energy barriers and developing accessible active sites are critical to deliver high hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)*** this paper,we synthesized defect-modulated and heteroatom(boron)-functionalized three-dimensional(3D)bowl-shaped Ti_(3−x)C_(2)T_(y)MXene(B-TCT)nanocavities coupled with the vertical growth of MoSe_(2)*** B-TCT@MoSe_(2)nanohybrids catalyst delivers the overpotentials of 49.9,52.7,and 67.8 mV to reach a HER current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)under acidic,alkaline,and neutral conditions,*** outstanding HER activity is predominantly attributed to the heteroatom functionalization,self-adapting Ti vacancy(VTi)defect modulation,and spatial configuration design in the 3D B-TCT nanocavity,which synergistically regulate the electronic structure,activate the basal plane/edge unsaturated sites,and reduce the reaction energy *** and theoretical calculations demonstrate that strong heterogeneous interfacial bonding interactions between B-TCT and MoSe_(2)can dramatically reduce the free energy of hydrogen adsorption and facilitate efficient interfacial charge migration,thus essentially improving the HER *** used this 3D porous nanohybrid system assembled by defectrich lamellar structures to elucidate the advantageous synergistic effects of multiple mechanisms among defect structure,heteroatom functionalization,and interfacial coupling,which provided important insights for the development of efficient hybridtype catalysts.

Background Hypogammaglobulinemia is common in infant humoral immunodeficiencies and has complicated causes and outcomes. We aimed to determine the clinical manifestations, immunological changes and outcomes of Shanghai infants with hypogammaglobulinemia. Methods Patients under 2 years old, having one or more warning signs of primary immunodeficiency disorders, serum immunoglobulin levels below the lower limit of reference range per age, and with normal numbers for lymphocyte subsets were analyzed and followed up for 2 to 3 years. Results A total of 91 children （male-to-female ratio： 2.25： 1） participated in the study. Initial clinical presentation was recurrent upper respiratory tract infection （46%）, invasive infection （3%）, atopic disease （32%）. IgA reduction （77%） was prevalent; 34% patients had more than one isotype reduced. During follow-up, 51 of 62 patients （82.25%） had immunoglobulins normalized at the age between 12-48 months; these were diagnosed as transient hypogammaglobulinemia of infancy （THI）. Long-term follow-up may reveal a diagnosis for the remaining 11 infants with persistent lower Jmmunoglobulin levels, who did not have antibody titers measured. Earlier onset was correlated with higher rates of normalization. More patients were diagnosed with isolated hypogammaglobulinemia in 2006 compared with the previous 4 years （2002-2005）. Conclusions The awareness of immunodeficiency among pediatricians has been greatly improved. Recurrent otitis media was not a major infection in our patients. THI is a relatively common condition associated with infant hypogammaglobulinemia. In the absence of specific antibody titers, the diagnosis of THI can be confirmed retrospectively with Ig levels normalized in follow-up visits. Therefore, long-term follow-up and frequent re-evaluation of these patients are necessary to distinguish them from true primary immunodeficiency.

Background Birth asphyxia may result in multiple organ dysfunction such as lung injury. Inhalation of nebulized nitric oxide precursor can selectively reduce pulmonary hypertension. However, it is unknown whether such precursors can alleviate lung injury induced by hypoxia. We evaluated the effect of inhalation of nebulized nitroglycerine and sodium nitroprusside on acute hypoxic lung injury in newborn piglets. Methods Acute hypoxic lung injury was induced by inspiring 10% 02 for 1 hour. Twenty-four anaesthetized and mechanically ventilated piglets （5-7 days old） were randomly divided into four groups：（1） group S, not hypoxic; （2） group C, nebulized saline after hypoxia; （3） group NTG, nebulized nitroglycerine after hypoxia; （4） group SNP, nebulized sodium nitroprusside after hypoxia, Respiratory dynamic compliance and resistance of respiratory system were recorded at baseline, 0.5 hour and 1 hour of hypoxia; then 0.5 hour, 1 hour, 3 hours and 5 hours following hypoxia. After nebulization, arterial blood was collected for measuring methaemoglobin and nitrate/nitrite levels. Right lung tissue, wet-dry ratio and myeloperoxidase level were determined. White blood cell count （WBC）, total surfactant phospholipids （TPL） and disaturated phosphatidyl choline （DSPC） of the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid （BALF） were calculated. Left lungs were used for examining pathological changes. Results No significant difference was observed in respiratory dynamic compliance, resistance of respiratory system, wet-dry ratio, levels of methaemoglobin and nitrate/nitrite after nebulization, TPL or DSPC/TPL among four groups. WBC in BALF in groups NTG and SNP significantly decreased as compared with group C： similarly for myeloperoxidase level in lung tissue. Lung histological findings showed infiltration of neutrophils in groups NTG and SNP decreased significantly as compared with group C. Phonons are the quantum mechanical descriptions of vibrational modes that manifest themselves in many physical properties of condensed matter systems. As the size of electronic devices continues to decrease below mean free paths of acoustic phonons, the engineering of phonon spectra at the nanoscale becomes an important topic. Phonon manipulation allows for active control and management of heat fow, enabling functions such as regulated heat transport. At the same time, phonon transmission, as a novel signal transmission method, holds great potential to revolutionize modern industry like microelectronics technology, and boasts wide-ranging applications. Unlike fermions such as electrons, polarity regulation is difficult to act on phonons as bosons, making the development of effective phonon modulation methods a daunting *** work reviews the development of phonon engineering and strategies of phonon manipulation at different scales, reports the latest research progress of nanophononic devices such as thermal rectifiers, thermal transistors, thermal memories, and thermoelectric devices,and analyzes the phonon transport mechanisms involved. Lastly, we survey feasible perspectives and research directions of phonon engineering. Thermoelectric analogies, external field regulation, and acousto-optic co-optimization are expected to become future research hotspots.

Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and *** controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore *** employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying *** artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different *** revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of *** elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC *** the range of low KC(10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

This study aims to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on the global prevalence of cannabis use to inform drug prevention strategies,policy-making,and resource *** study initially screened 177,843 studies published between January 1,2000,and January 15,2024,using peer-reviewed databases including Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus,Embase,and Cochrane ***,595 studies were identified for data extraction,and 39 of these were selected as country-representative *** among the selected studies was assessed using the chi-squared test and I2 statistic,while sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the robustness of the *** prevalence of cannabis use varied between 0.42%and 43.90%across 33 European countries,1.40%to 38.12%across 15 North and South American countries,0.30%to 19.10%across 16 Asian countries,and 1.30%to 48.70%across 18 Oceania and African *** pooled prevalence of cannabis use was 12.0%[95%confidence interval(CI):10.0,14.3]in countries where cannabis is legalized,compared to 5.4%(95%CI:4.3,6.9)in non-legalized *** findings indicate that the prevalence of cannabis use has disproportionately increased in most countries with the implementation of medical or recreational cannabis legalization policies and relevant geographic *** efforts are needed to monitor newly cannabis-legalized countries and prevent initial use.
