The potential of Ca isotopes to trace subducted marine carbonates in deep mantle

Marine carbonates,the major carrier of carbon upon the upper crust,can be subducted into the Earth’s interior along with oceanic crust,and then returned to the surface through magmatism,which constitute the deep carbon *** process plays an important role in modulating the CO_(2) concentrations in the atmosphere over geologic time,and thus the forming of the habitable ***,identifying recycled marine carbonates in the mantle is critical to well understand the global deep carbon *** is one of the major constituent cations in marine carbonates and its isotopes may be a potential tracer for recycled marine carbonates in the *** further evaluate the capability and challenges of Ca isotopes as such a geochemical tracer,we reviewed the Ca isotopic compositions in important reservoirs and the behavior of Ca isotopes during high-temperature geological processes that are related to the deep carbon cycle,including plate subduction,mantle metasomatism,mantle partial melting,magma differentiation,*** studies show that carbonate-rich marine sediments have significantly lowerδ^(44/40) Ca than the Earth mantle,and metasomatism by such recycled materials can cause lighter Ca isotopic compositions in deep mantle-derived rocks than those of the depleted mantle and mid ocean ridge ***,the Ca isotopic fractionation during partial melting of mantle peridotites is small(~0.10‰)and the Ca isotopic fractionation during plate subduction and intermediate-mafic magma evolution is *** investigations suggest that Ca isotopes have great advances in tracing such recycled materials in the ***,other processes(such as the influence by partial melts of eclogites)may induce similar effects on mantle-derived rocks as subducted marine carbonates but still remains debated,and thus further investigations are strongly needed in the future.

Spatio-temporal patterns and climatic drivers of spring phenology in eight forest communities across the north-south transitional zone of China

The Qinba Mountains are climatically and ecologically recognized as the north-south transitional zone of *** of its phenology is critical for comprehending the response of vegetation to climatic *** retrieved the start of spring phenology(SOS)of eight forest communities from the MODIS products and adopted it as an indicator for spring *** analysis,partial correlation analysis,and GeoDetector were employed to reveal the spatio-temporal patterns and climatic drivers of *** results indicated that the SOS presented an advance trend from 2001 to 2020,with a mean rate of−0.473 d yr^(−1).The SOS of most forests correlated negatively with air temperature(TEMP)and positively with precipitation(PRE),suggesting that rising TEMP and increasing PRE in spring would forward and delay SOS,*** dominant factors influencing the sensitivity of SOS to climatic variables were altitude,forest type,and latitude,while the effects of slope and aspect were relatively *** response of SOS to climatic factors varied significantly in space and among forest communities,partly due to the influence of altitude,slope,and aspect.

High temperature piezoelectric energy harvester(HTPEH)is an important solution to replace chemical battery to achieve independent power supply of HT wireless ***,simultaneously excellent performances,including high figure of merit(FOM),insulation resistivity(ρ)and depolarization temperature(Td)are indispensable but hard to achieve in lead-free piezoceramics,especially operating at 250°C has not been reported ***,well-balanced performances are achieved in BiFeO3–BaTiO3 ceramics via innovative defect engineering with respect to delicate manganese *** to the synergistic effect of enhancing electrostrictive coefficient by polarization configuration optimization,regulating iron ion oxidation state by high valence manganese ion and stabilizing domain orientation by defect dipole,comprehensive excellent electrical performances(Td=340°C,ρ250°C>10^(7)Ωcm and FOM_(250°C)=4905×10^(–15)m^(2)N^(−1))are realized at the solid solubility limit of manganese *** HT-PEHs assembled using the rationally designed piezoceramic can allow for fast charging of commercial electrolytic capacitor at 250°C with high energy conversion efficiency(η=11.43%).These characteristics demonstrate that defect engineering tailored BF-BT can satisfy high-end HT-PEHs requirements,paving a new way in developing selfpowered wireless sensors working in HT environments.

Effect of pyrite content on chalcopyrite flotation under different regrinding conditions

This study aimed to investigate the effect of varying pyrite(Py)content on copper(Cu)in the presence of different regrinding conditions,which were altered using different types of grinding media:iron,ceramic balls,and their mixture,followed by flotation in the cleaner *** flotation performance of rough Cu concentrate can be improved by changing the regrinding conditions based on the Py *** electron microscopy,X-ray spectrometry,ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt extraction,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies illustrated that when the Py content was high,the use of iron media in regrinding promoted the generation of hydrophilic Fe OOH on the surface of Py and improved the Cu *** ceramic medium with a low Py content prevented excessive Fe OOH from covering the surface of chalcopyrite(Cpy).Electrochemical studies further showed that the galvanic corrosion current of Cpy-Py increased with the addition of Py and became stronger with the participation of iron media.

Rock fracture mechanism of buffer blasting with cushion layer at the borehole bottom

This study primarily investigates the rock fracture mechanism of bottom cushion layer blasting and explores the effects of the bottom cushion layer on rock *** involves analyses of the evolution patterns of blasting stress,characteristics of crack distribution,and rock fracture features in the ***,blasting model experiments were carried out using the dynamic caustics principle to investigate the influence of bottom cushion layers and initiation methods on the integrity of the bottom rock *** experimental results indicate that the combined use of bottom cushion layers and inverse initiation effectively protects the integrity of the bottom rock ***,the process of stress wave propagation and dynamic crack propagation in rocks was simulated using the continuum-discontinuum element method(CDEM)and the Landau explosion source model,with varying thicknesses of bottom cushion *** numerical simulation results indicate that with increasing cushion thickness,the absorption of energy generated by the explosion becomes more pronounced,resulting in fewer cracks in the bottom rock *** illustrates the positive role of the cushion layer in protecting the integrity of the bottom rock mass.

Spatial Pattern and Influencing Factors of China’s Digital Trade Resilience under the Impact of Trade Frictions

In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional ***,understanding the resilience of digital trade in the face of external crises is an important *** the backdrop of Sino-US trade friction,this paper constructs a resilience index system for digital *** utilizes entropy method,kernel density estimation,and ArcGIS mapping to calculate and visually analyze the resilience of China’s digital trade from 2017 to ***,a Tobit model is constructed to explore the main influencing factors of digital trade resilience *** research findings indicate:1)temporally,during the period of Sino-US trade friction,China’s digital trade resilience shows an overall upward trend,but there are regional differences in resilience levels across the country,with a severe polarization phenomenon.2)Spatially,high resilience is observed in the eastern and central regions of China,while the western and northeastern regions exhibit low resilience.3)From a dimensional perspective,the resistance of digital trade resilience displays a spatial distribution of high values in the east and low values in the *** recovery force is aggregated along coastal areas,and the renewal force tends to aggregate along the eastern coastline.4)Factors such as economic scale,industrial structure,urbanization rate,government fiscal expenditure,and technological talents significantly promote the enhancement of digital trade *** study reveals the dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of digital trade resilience in responding to external shocks,providing theoretical basis and policy suggestions for enhancing digital trade resilience,and promoting high-quality economic development in China.

Absorption mechanism of SO_(3)on various alkaline absorbents in the presence of SO_(2)

Sulfur trioxide(SO_(3))as a condensable particle matter has a significant influence on atmospheric visibility,which easily arouses formation of *** is imperative to control the SO_(3)emission from the industrial flue *** commonly used basic absorbents,including Ca(OH)_(2),MgO and NaHCO_(3)were selected to explore the effects of temperature,SO_(2)concentration on the SO_(3)absorption,and the reaction mechanism of SO_(3)absorption was further *** suitable reaction temperature for various absorbents were proposed,Ca(OH)_(2)at the high temperatures above 500°C,MgO at the low temperatures below 320°C,and NaHCO_(3)at the temperature range of 320–500°*** competitive absorption between SO_(2)and SO_(3)was found that the addition of SO_(2)reduced the SO_(3)absorption on Ca(OH)_(2)and NaHCO_(3),while had no effect on *** order of the absorption selectivity of SO_(3)follows MgO,NaHCO_(3)and Ca(OH)_(2)under the given conditions in this *** absorption process of SO_(3)on NaHCO_(3)follows the shrinking core model,thus the absorption reaction continues until NaHCO_(3)was exhausted with the utilization rate of nearly 100%.The absorption process of SO_(3)on Ca(OH)_(2)and MgO follows the grain model,and the dense product layer hinders the further absorption reaction,resulting in low utilization of about 50%for Ca(OH)_(2)and *** research provides a favorable support for the selection of alkaline absorbent for SO_(3)removal in application.

Safe flight corridor constrained sequential convex programming for efficient trajectory generation of fixed-wing UAVs

Generating dynamically feasible trajectory for fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)in dense obstacle environments remains computationally *** paper proposes a Safe Flight Corridor constrained Sequential Convex Programming(SFC-SCP)to improve the computation efficiency and reliability of trajectory ***-SCP combines the front-end convex polyhedron SFC construction and back-end SCP-based trajectory optimization.A Sparse A^(*)Search(SAS)driven SFC construction method is designed to efficiently generate polyhedron SFC according to the geometric relation among obstacles and collision-free *** transforming the nonconvex obstacle-avoidance constraints to linear inequality constraints,SFC can mitigate infeasibility of trajectory planning and reduce computation ***,SCP casts the nonlinear trajectory optimization subject to SFC into convex programming subproblems to decrease the problem *** addition,a convex optimizer based on interior point method is customized,where the search direction is calculated via successive elimination to further improve *** experiments on dense obstacle scenarios show that SFC-SCP can generate dynamically feasible safe trajectory *** studies with state-of-the-art SCP-based methods demonstrate the efficiency and reliability merits of ***,the customized convex optimizer outperforms off-the-shelf optimizers in terms of computation time.
