GPU-accelerated OcT imaging: Real-time data processing and artifact suppression for enhanced monitoring of 3D bioprinted tissues and vascular-like networks

Optical coherence tomography(OcT)imaging technology has significant advantages in in situ and noninvasive monitoring of biological ***,it still faces the following challenges:including data processing speed,image quality,and improvements in three-dimensional(3D)visualization *** technology,especially functional imaging techniques like optical coherence tomography angiography(OcTA),requires a long acquisition time and a large data *** the substantial increase in the acquisition speed of swept source optical coherence tomography(SS-OcT),it still poses significant challenges for data ***,during in situ acquisition,image artifacts resulting from interface reflections or strong reflections from biological tissues and culturing containers present obstacles to data visualization and further ***,a customized frequency domainfilter with anti-banding suppression parameters was designed to suppress artifact ***,this study proposed a graphics processing unit(GPU)-based real-time data processing pipeline for SS-OcT,achieving a measured line-process rate of 800 kHz for 3D fast and high-quality data ***,a GPU-based realtime data processing for cc-OcTA was integrated to acquire dynamic ***,a vascular-like network chip was prepared using extrusion-based 3D printing and sacrificial materials,with sacrificial material being printed at the desired vascular network locations and then removed to form the vascular-like *** imaging technology was used to monitor the progression of sacrificial material removal and vascular-like network ***,GPU-based OcT enables real-time processing and visualization with artifact suppression,making it particularly suitable for in situ noninvasive longitudinal monitoring of 3D bioprinting tissue and vascular-like networks in microfluidic chips.

New Antibacterial Dihydropyrones Induced by co-culture of Penicillium crustosum PRB-2 and Penicillium citrinum HDN11-186

Two new dihydropyrones,rhytismatones c(1)and D(2),and a known compound,penicillenol A1(3),were isolated from the co-culture broth of the deep-sea-derived fungus Penicillium crustosum PRB-2 and Suaeda salsa-derived endophytic fungus Peni-cillium citrinum *** structures were elucidated through comprehensive analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectra and mass *** absolute configurations of new compounds were determined by calculating the electronic circular di-chroism(EcD)***-MS data showed that compounds 1–3 could only be detected in the media of co-culture,suggesting new biosynthetic pathways were activated in the co-cultured *** 1 showed obvious antibacterial activities against Pro-teus ***-1002 and Bacillus subtilis MMBc-1004 with minimum inhibitory concentration(MIc)both at 25μmolL^(-1).

The paper reports on the atomic investigation aboutβphase in Mg_(96)Gd_(2)y_(1)Ni_(1) alloy by using the first-principles study and the high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscope(HAADF-STEM)corrected by atomic *** using HAADF-STEM,the rectangularβphases were observed in the underage and peak aging stages in Mg_(96)Gd_(2)y_(1)Ni_(1) ***βphase could be precipitated from the previously precipitatedβphase,and theβphase grew in steps when it was precipitated.A special transition structure of three atomic layer thicknesses was first observed at the edge of theβphase and the structure of this interface is probably as theβ/Mg_(1) interface for the analysis of thermodynamic characterization and electronic ***β'phase and theβ_(H) structure were precipitated only at the edge of the length directions of theβ***β'phase continues to grow into aβphase directly without the formation ofβ_(1) phase,resulting in an increase in the length of theβphase,which is discovered for the first time.

It is common to observe the epidemic risk perception(ERP)and a decline in subjective well-being(SWB)in the context of public health events,such as corona Virus Disease 2019(cOVID-19).However,there have been few studies exploring the impact of individuals’ERP within living space on their SWB,especially from a geographical and daily activity perspective after the resumption of work and other activities following a wave of the *** this paper,we conducted a study with 789 participants in urban china,measuring their ERP within living space and examining its influence on their SWB using path *** results indicated that individuals’ERP within their living space had a significant negative effect on their *** density of certain types of facilities within their living space,such as bus stops,subway stations,restaurants,fast food shops,convenience shops,hospitals,and public toilets,had a significantly negative impact on their SWB,mediated by their ERP within living ***,participation in out-of-home work and other activities not only increased individuals’ERP within living space,but also strengthened its negative effect on their SWB.

comparative evaluation of SPE methods for biotoxicity assessment of water and wastewater:Linkage between chemical extracting efficiency and biotoxicity outcome

Biotoxicity assessment results of environmental waters largely depend on the sample extraction protocols that enrich pollutants to meet the effect-trigger thresholds of ***,more chemical mixture does not necessarily translate to higher combined ***,there is a need to establish the link between chemical extracting efficiency and biotoxicity outcome to standardize extraction methods for biotoxicity assessment of environmental *** study compares the performance of five different extraction phases in solid phase extraction(SPE),namely HLB,HLB+coconut,c18 cartridge,c18 disk and Strata-X,and evaluated their chemical extracting efficiencies and biotoxicity *** quantitatively assessed cytotoxicity,acute toxicity,genotoxicity,estrogenic activity,and neurotoxicity of the extracts using in vitro bioassays and characterized the chemical extracting efficiencies of the SPE methods through chemical recoveries of 23 model compounds with different polarities and total organic *** Pareto ranking,we identified HLB+coconut as the optimal SPE method,which exhibited the highest level of water sample biotoxicity and recovered the most chemicals in water *** found that the biotoxicity outcomes of the extracted water samples significantly and positively correlated with the chemical extracting efficiencies of the SPE ***,we observed synchronous changing patterns in biotoxicity outcome and chemical extracting efficiencies in response to increasing sample volumes per cartridge(SVPc)during *** findings underscore that higher chemical extracting efficiency of SPE corresponds to higher biotoxicity outcome of environmental water samples,providing a scientific basis for standardization of SPE methods for adequate assessment of biotoxicities of environmental waters.

Oxidative stress mediates glycidol-induced endothelial injury and its protection by 6-c-(E-2-fluorostyryl)naringenin

Glycidol is a common lipid-derived foodborne toxicant mainly presents in refined oils and related *** endothelial cells may be potential targets of the deleterious effects associated with glycidol *** human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEcs),we found that glycidol treatment promoted endothelialto-mesenchymal transition(EndMT)at a lower concentration(0.5 mmol/L),while induced apoptosis and inflammation at a higher concentration(1 mmol/L).These harmful effects were achieved by the activation of NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathway and were mediated by reactive oxygen species(ROS).In addition,the protective potential of 6-c-(E-2-fluorostyryl)naringenin(6-cEFN)against glycidol was evaluated and compared with *** pre-treated with 6-cEFN,but not naringenin,displayed resistance to endothelial dysfunction caused by glycidol.

Polio eradication surveillance in Sri Lanka,2019-2023

Objective:To evaluate the polio laboratory surveillance carried out from January,2019 to May,2023 by the Polio Regional Reference Laboratory,Sri ***:This retrospective study analyzed all stool samples received under the acute flaccid paralysis(AFP)and immunodeficient vaccine-derived poliovirus(VDPV)surveillance at Polio Regional Reference Laboratory,Sri Lanka from January,2019 to May,*** results of the testing methodologies were extracted from the laboratory data system,i.e.,poliovirus virus isolation,intra-typic differentiation/VDPV real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(ITD/VDPV rRTPcR)and sequencing,along with the data on timing of reporting results,stool adequacy and *** was analyzed using descriptive ***:A total of 2141 stool samples from 1644 cases were received for AFP surveillance from Sri Lanka(93.61%),Maldives(1.52%),and immunodeficient VDPV(4.86%)*** polioviruses(19/1644,1.15%)and non-polio enteroviruses(73/1644,4.44%)were isolated,while Sabin-like 3 virus was detected in majority(12/19,63.15%)among the poliovirus *** polioviruses or circulating VDPVs were not detected among the *** all years of the study,the non-polio AFP detection rate was>1/100000 in children aged less than 15 years,whereas stool adequacy rate was>80%.All results were reported within 14 days of receipt,ensuring timely reporting as per global ***:The Polio Regional Reference Laboratory,Sri Lanka plays a vital role in maintaining the polio-free status in the country through its robust laboratory surveillance,while adhering to the surveillance ***-detection of wild polioviruses and circulating VDPV during the study period reinforces the polio-free status in the country.

Supposition of graphene stacks to estimate the contact resistance and conductivity of nanocomposites

In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly influence the conductivity,which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.
