Analysis of spatio-temporal pattern and driving force of land cover change using multi-temporal remote sensing images

Landuse and land cover change is regarded as a good indicator that represents the impact of human activities on earth’s *** the large collection of multi-temporal satellite images has become available,it is possible to study a long-term historical process of land cover *** study aims to investigate the spatio-temporal pattern and driving force of land cover change in the Pearl River Delta region in southern China,where the rapid development has been witnessed since *** fast economic growth has been associated with an accelerated expansion of urban landuse,which has been recorded by historical remote sensing *** paper reports the method and outcome of the research that attempts to model spatio-temporal pattern of land cover change using multi-temporal satellite *** classified satellite images were compared to detect the change from various landuse types to built-up *** trajectories of land cover change have then been established based on the time-series of the classified land cover *** correlation between the expansion of built-up areas and selected economic data has also been analysed for better understanding on the driving force of the rapid urbanisation *** result shows that,since early 1990s,the dominant trend of land cover change has been from farmland to urban *** relationship between economic growth indicator(measured by GDP)and built-up area can well fit into a linear regression model with correlation coefficients greater than *** is quite clear that cities or towns have been sprawling in general,demonstrating two growth models that were closely related to the economic development stages.

In this paper a review on current research on 3DCM is presented, and an alternative approach by integrating the concepts and techniques of object\|oriented method and Computer Aided Design (CAD) is suggested. Through the approach urban spatial entities as objects are extracted, which are represented with primary 3D elements (node, edge, face and body) and their combinations. In the light of the concept of object, the method supports the multiple representation of Level of Details (LOD). More importantly, topological relationships between objects are described so that 3D topological operations can be implemented.

Oscillation detection has been a hot research topic in industries due to the high incidence of oscillation loops and their negative impact on plant *** numerous automatic detection techniques have been proposed,most of them can only address part of the practical *** oscillation is heuristically defined as a visually apparent periodic ***,manual visual inspection is labor-intensive and prone to missed *** neural networks(CNNs),inspired by animal visual systems,have been raised with powerful feature extraction *** this work,an exploration of the typical CNN models for visual oscillation detection is ***,we tested MobileNet-V1,ShuffleNet-V2,Efficient Net-B0,and GhostNet models,and found that such a visual framework is well-suited for oscillation *** feasibility and validity of this framework are verified utilizing extensive numerical and industrial *** with state-of-theart oscillation detectors,the suggested framework is more straightforward and more robust to noise and *** addition,this framework generalizes well and is capable of handling features that are not present in the training data,such as multiple oscillations and outliers.

Numerical investigation of hydro-morphodynamic characteristics of a cascading failure of landslide dams

A cascading failure of landslide dams caused by strong earthquakes or torrential rains in mountainous river valleys can pose great threats to people’s lives,properties,and *** this study,based on the three-dimensional Reynoldsaveraged Navier-Stokes equations(RANS),the renormalization group(RNG)k-εturbulence model,suspended and bed load transport equations,and the instability discriminant formula of dam breach side slope,and the explicit finite volume method(FVM),a detailed numerical simulation model for calculating the hydro-morphodynamic characteristics of cascading dam breach process has been *** developed numerical model can simulate the breach hydrograph and the dam breach morphology evolution during the cascading failure process of landslide dams.A model test of the breaches of two cascading landslide dams has been used as the validation *** comparison of the calculated and measured results indicates that the breach hydrograph and the breach morphology evolution process of the upstream and downstream dams are generally consistent with each other,and the relative errors of the key breaching parameters,i.e.,the peak breach flow and the time to peak of each dam,are less than±5%.Further,the comparison of the breach hydrographs of the upstream and downstream dams shows that there is an amplification effect of the breach flood on the cascading landslide dam *** key parameters,i.e.,the distance between the upstream and the downstream dams,the river channel slope,and the downstream dam height,have been used to study the flood amplification *** parameter sensitivity analyses show that the peak breach flow at the downstream dam decreases with increasing distance between the upstream and the downstream dams,and the downstream dam ***,the peak breach flow at the downstream dam first increases and then decreases with steepening of the river channel *** the flood caused by the upstream dam failure flows to the

Subnanometric bimetallic Pt–Pd clusters in zeolites for efficient hydrogen production and selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes

The solvolysis of ammonia borane（AB） and the hydrogenation of nitroarenes represent significant reactions for hydrogen generation and value-added chemical synthesis. The strategic engineering of the catalysts is imperative for surmounting obstacles associated with their stability and catalytic efficiency. In this work, subnanometric bimetallic Pt–Pd clusters were encapsulated within silicalite-1（S-1） zeolites through a ligand-protected in-situ hydrothermal synthesis method. The synergetic effect of bimetallic composition and zeolite confinement markedly enhances the catalytic performance of representative Pt0.5Pd0.5@S-1-H catalyst, affording exceptional turnover frequency（TOF） values of 1,043 and 573 molH2molmetal-1min-1for AB hydrolysis and methanolysis at ambient conditions, respectively, surpassing most of the state-of-the-art Pt-based *** and isotopic experiments reveal that the bimetallic catalytic system remarkably boosts the O–H cleavage of water,thereby facilitating the H2production from AB hydrolysis. Remarkably, a conspicuous synergistic effect is demonstrated in the shape-selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes, with the bimetallic catalyst facilitating both AB hydrolysis and nitroarene hydrogenation, giving a high TOF value of 1,260 h-1under atmospheric pressure. This study not only demonstrates the effectiveness of bimetallic nanocatalysts encapsulated in zeolites for hydrogen production from chemical hydrogen storage materials, but also paves the way for the design of catalysts with multifunctional active sites capable of synergistically promoting tandem catalytic processes.

Fluorescent poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-Nile blue)(pNIPAm-co-NB)microgels were synthesized that exhibited fluorescence intensity changes in a water temperature-dependent *** is well known to exhibit fluorescence intensity that depends on the hydrophobicity of the environment,while pNIPAm-based microgels are well known to transition from swollen(hydrophilic)to collapsed(relatively hydrophobic)at temperatures greater than 32℃;hence,we attribute the above behavior to the hydrophobicity changes of the microgels with increasing *** phenomenon is ultimately due to NB dimers(relatively quenched fluorescence)being broken in the hydrophobic environment of the microgels leading to relatively enhanced *** went on to show that the introduction of cucurbit[7]uril(CB[7])into the pNIPAm-co-NB microgels enhanced their fluorescence allowing them to be used for polyamine(e.g.,spermine[SPM])***,CB[7]forms a host–guest interaction with NB in the microgels,which prevents NB dimerization and enhances their *** SPM is present,it forms a host–guest complex that is favored over the CB[7]-NB host–guest interaction,which frees the NB for dimerization and leads to fluorescence *** a result,we could generate an SPM sensor capable of SPM detection down to~0.5µmol/L in complicated matrixes such as serum and urine.
