Quantification of CO_(2) Emissions from Three Power Plants in China Using OCO-3 Satellite Measurements

Coal-fired power plants are a major carbon source in China. In order to assess the evaluation of China's carbon reduction progress with the promise made on the Paris Agreement, it is crucial to monitor the carbon flux intensity from coal-fired power plants. Previous studies have calculated CO_(2) emissions from point sources based on Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 and-3(OCO-2 and OCO-3) satellite measurements, but the factors affecting CO_(2) flux estimations are uncertain. In this study, we employ a Gaussian Plume Model to estimate CO_(2) emissions from three power plants in China based on OCO-3 XCO_(2) measurements. Moreover, flux uncertainties resulting from wind information, background values,satellite CO_(2) measurements, and atmospheric stability are discussed. This study highlights the CO_(2) flux uncertainty derived from the satellite measurements. Finally, satellite-based CO_(2) emission estimates are compared to bottom-up *** satellite-based CO_(2) emission estimates at the Tuoketuo and Nongliushi power plants are ~30 and ~10 kt d^(-1) smaller than the Open-Data Inventory for Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide(ODIAC) respectively, but ~10 kt d^(-1) larger than the ODIAC at Baotou.

Generative adversarial networks based motion learning towards robotic calligraphy synthesis

Robot calligraphy visually reflects the motion capability of robotic *** traditional researches mainly focus on image generation and the writing of simple calligraphic strokes or characters,this article presents a generative adversarial network(GAN)-based motion learning method for robotic calligraphy synthesis(Gan2CS)that can enhance the efficiency in writing complex calligraphy words and reproducing classic calligraphy *** key technologies in the proposed approach include:(1)adopting the GAN to learn the motion parameters from the robot writing operation;(2)converting the learnt motion data into the style font and realising the transition from static calligraphy images to dynamic writing demonstration;(3)reproducing high-precision calligraphy works by synthesising the writing motion data *** this study,the motion trajectories of sample calligraphy images are firstly extracted and converted into the robot *** robot performs the writing with motion planning,and the writing motion parameters of calligraphy strokes are learnt with *** the motion data of basic strokes is synthesised based on the hierarchical process of‘stroke-radicalpart-character’.And the robot re-writes the synthesised characters whose similarity with the original calligraphy characters is *** calligraphy characters have been tested in the experiments for method validation and the results validated that the robot can actualise the robotic calligraphy synthesis of writing motion data with GAN.

Spectroscopic and temperature sensing properties of Sm3+ in self-activated CsLu（WO4）2 phosphors

In this research,a series of Sm3+doped CsLu（WO4）2phosphors was prepared via high temperature solid phase technique to design new red phosphors and optical thermometric *** structures,morphology,band gap and luminescence properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,diffuse reflection and luminescence spectra,*** UV excitation,CsLu（WO4）2gives rise to a blue broad emission band between 350 and 700 nm,which stems from the3T1u→1A1gtransition of *** Sm3+is introduced into CsLu（WO4）2,energy transfer between WO66-groups and Sm3+ions takes place in CsLu（WO4）2:Sm3+phosphors,and color-tunable luminescence from blue to red is realized by controlling the Sm3+doping *** energy transfer efficiency between WO66-groups and Sm3+ons was analyzed,and the energy transfer mechanism was determined to be dipole-dipole *** to the temperature-dependent luminescence spectra,WO66-groups and Sm3+ions exhibit large discrepancy in thermal quenching rates,and thus the temperature sensing properties of CsLu（WO4）2:Sm3+in the temperature range of 283-403 K were *** on the framework of fluorescence intensity ratio theory,the basic optical thermometry parameters including absolute and relative sensitivity of CsLu（WO4）2:Sm3+we re calculated and the results show that it has great potential for application in optical thermometry.

Here,we present a unique method to enhance the low-frequency absorption performance of a honeycomb absorber by integrating a *** geometrical dimensions of the proposed metasurface have been numerically *** introduction of the metasurface allows exploitation of its robust resonance and superior impedance matching in low-frequency bands,thereby improving microwave absorption *** incorporation of the metasurface does not impact the wave transmission performance of the honeycomb core absorber at high-frequency band,thus preserving its high-frequency *** broadens the absorption range,leading to an expanded *** results reveal that the composite absorber(CA)exhibits strong absorption performance with an incident angle stability up to 45°for both transverse electric(TE)and transverse magnetic(TM)*** absorption mechanism of the CA has been investigated by using an equivalent circuit model and electromagnetic field analysis.A prototype was designed,fabricated,and tested to validate the proposed *** simulation and measurement results demonstrate that the prototype can achieve an average absorption rate exceeding 90%across a 1.0-18.0 GHz *** study introduces an innovative technique for creating microwave absorbers for low-frequency wideband applications.

Distinct Interannual Variability and Physical Mechanisms of Snowfall Frequency over the Eurasian Continent during Autumn and Winter

This study investigates the dominant modes of interannual variability of snowfall frequency over the Eurasian continent during autumn and winter,and explores the underlying physical *** first EOF mode(EOF1)of snowfall frequency during autumn is mainly characterized by positive anomalies over the Central Siberian Plateau(CSP)and Europe,with opposite anomalies over Central Asia(CA).EOF1 during winter is characterized by positive anomalies in Siberia and negative anomalies in Europe and East Asia(EA).During autumn,EOF1 is associated with the anomalous sea ice in the Kara–Laptev seas(KLS)and sea surface temperature(SST)over the North *** sea ice in the KLS may cause an increase in the meridional air temperature gradient,resulting in increased synoptic-scale wave activity,thereby inducing increased snowfall frequency over Europe and the *** increases of both sea ice in the KLS and SST in the North Atlantic may stimulate downstream propagation of Rossby waves and induce an anomalous high in CA corresponding to decreased snowfall *** contrast,EOF1 is mainly affected by the anomalous atmospheric circulation during *** the positive phase of the North Atlantic Oscillation(NAO),an anomalous deep cold low(warm high)occurs over Siberia(Europe)leading to increased(decreased)snowfall frequency over Siberia(Europe).The synoptic-scale wave activity excited by the positive NAO can induce downstream Rossby wave propagation and contribute to an anomalous high and descending motion over EA,which may inhibit *** NAO in winter may be modulated by the Indian Ocean dipole and sea ice in the Barents-Kara-Laptev Seas in autumn.

Impacts of climate change and human activities on vegetation dynamics on the Mongolian Plateau, East Asia from 2000 to 2023

The Mongolian Plateau in East Asia is one of the largest contingent arid and semi-arid areas of the *** the impacts of climate change and human activities,desertification is becoming increasingly severe on the Mongolian *** the vegetation dynamics in this region can better characterize its ecological *** this study,based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)images,we calculated the kernel normalized difference vegetation index(kNDVI)on the Mongolian Plateau from 2000 to 2023,and analyzed the changes in kNDVI using the Theil-Sen median trend analysis and Mann-Kendall significance *** further investigated the impact of climate change on kNDVI change using partial correlation analysis and composite correlation analysis,and quantified the effects of climate change and human activities on kNDVI change by residual *** results showed that kNDVI on the Mongolian Plateau was increasing overall,and the vegetation recovery area in the southern region was significantly larger than that in the northern *** 50.99%of the plateau showed dominant climate-driven effects of temperature,precipitation,and wind speed on kNDVI *** analysis showed that climate change and human activities together contributed to 94.79%of the areas with vegetation *** human activities promoted the recovery of local vegetation,and climate change inhibited vegetation growth in the northern part of the Mongolian *** study provides scientific data for understanding the regional ecological environment status and future changes and developing effective ecological protection measures on the Mongolian Plateau.

System error iterative identification for underwater positioning based on spectral clustering

The observation error model of the underwater acous-tic positioning system is an important factor to influence the positioning accuracy of the underwater *** the position inconsistency error caused by considering the underwater tar-get as a mass point,as well as the observation system error,the traditional error model best estimation trajectory(EMBET)with little observed data and too many parameters can lead to the ill-condition of the parameter *** this paper,a multi-station fusion system error model based on the optimal polynomial con-straint is constructed,and the corresponding observation sys-tem error identification based on improved spectral clustering is ***,the reduced parameter unified modeling for the underwater target position parameters and the system error is achieved through the polynomial *** a multi-sta-tion non-oriented graph network is established,which can address the problem of the inaccurate identification for the sys-tem ***,the similarity matrix of the spectral cluster-ing is improved,and the iterative identification for the system errors based on the improved spectral clustering is ***,the comprehensive measured data of long baseline lake test and sea test show that the proposed method can accu-rately identify the system errors,and moreover can improve the positioning accuracy for the underwater target positioning.

Analysis of light propagation characteristic in the aero-optic flow field of cone-headed vehicle with side window

Aero-optic imaging deviation research is carried out for infrared-guided vehicle with cone-head side window,with a focus on the propagation characteristics of light in an aero-optic flow *** the light entering the aero-optic flow field from the free-stream should be close to the normal,numerous data indicate that the light is refracted away from the *** paper divides the aero-optic flow field into two parts and uses the gas density distribution in the aero-optic flow field to propose the hypothesis that there are two modes of refraction when light propagates through the flow *** results show that light propagates from the optically denser medium to the optically thinner medium after passing through the shock wave and eventually leads to refraction away from the normal when the light enters the aero-optic flow field.

Research on physical explosion crater model of high-pressure natural gas pipeline

In this study, Hypermesh and LS-DYNA numerical simulation software are used to build a multi domain coupling model of natural gas pipeline, including soil, pipeline, TNT explosive and air domain, and the non-reflection boundary conditions are set for the model. The TNT equivalent method is used to convert the physical explosion amount of natural gas pipeline into 1387.38 kg TNT explosive amount. The simulation results show that the physical explosion of pipeline forms an approximate elliptical crater with a width of 12.68 m and a depth of 4.12 m; the TNT equivalent of the model is corrected by comparing the crater simulation value and the size value of the crater calculated by the PRCI empirical formula under the same laying condition, and the correction coefficient is selected as 0.9, and the corrected TNT equivalent is 1248.64 kg; the modified model crater size is 3.72 m deep and 12.66 m wide, compared with the crater size obtained from the field test, the error of crater depth and width calculated by the modified model simulation is 5.7% and 15.5% respectively.
