Endomembrane-biased dimerization of ABCG16 and ABCG25 transporters determines their substrate selectivity in ABA-regulated plant growth and stress responses

ATP-binding cassette(ABC)transporters are integral membrane proteins that have evolved diverse func-tions fulfilled via the transport of various *** Arabidopsis,the G subfamily of ABC proteins is particularly abundant and participates in multiple signaling pathways during plant development and stress *** this study,we revealed that two Arabidopsis ABCG transporters,ABCG16 and ABCG25,engage in ABA-mediated stress responses and early plant growth through endomembrane-specific dimerization-coupled transport of ABA and ABA-glucosyl ester(ABA-GE),*** first revealed that ABCG16 contributes to osmotic stress tolerance via ABA *** specifically,ABCG16 induces cellular ABA efflux in both yeast and plant *** FRET analysis,we showed that ABCG16 forms oblig-atory homodimers for ABA export activity and that the plasma membrane-resident ABCG16 homodimers specifically respond to ABA,undergoing notable conformational ***,we demonstrated that ABCG16 heterodimerizes with ABCG25 at the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)membrane and facilitates the ER entry of ABA-GE in both Arabidopsis and tobacco *** specific responsiveness of the ABCG16-ABCG25 heterodimer to ABA-GE and the superior growth of their double mutant support an inhib-itory role of these twoABCGs in early seedling establishment via regulation of ABA-GE translocation across the ER *** endomembrane-specific analysis of the FRET signals derived from the homo-or heterodimerized ABcG complexes allowed us to link endomembrane-biased dimerization to the transloca-tion of distinct substrates by ABcG transporters,providing a prototypic framework for understanding the omnipotence of ABcG transporters in plant development and stress responses.

Bridge Bidding via Deep Reinforcement Learning and Belief Monte Carlo Search

Contract Bridge,a four-player imperfect information game,comprises two phases:bidding and *** computer programs excel at playing,bidding presents a challenging aspect due to the need for information exchange with partners and interference with communication of *** this work,we introduce a Bridge bidding agent that combines supervised learning,deep reinforcement learning via self-play,and a test-time search *** experiments demonstrate that our agent outperforms WBridge5,a highly regarded computer Bridge software that has won multiple world championships,by a performance of 0.98 IMPs(international match points)per deal over 10000 deals,with a much cost-effective *** performance significantly surpasses previous state-of-the-art(0.85 IMPs per deal).Note 0.1 IMPs per deal is a significant improvement in Bridge bidding.

Security-Enhanced Directional Modulation Based on Two-Dimensional M-WFRFT

Directional modulation(DM)is one of the most promising secure communication ***,when the eavesdropper is co-located with the legitimate receiver,the conventional DM has the disadvantages of weak anti-scanning capability,anti-deciphering capability,and low secrecy *** response to these problems,we propose a twodimensional multi-term weighted fractional Fourier transform aided DM scheme,in which the legitimate receiver and the transmitter use different transform terms and transform orders to encrypt and decrypt the confidential *** order to further lower the probability of being deciphered by an eavesdropper,we use the subblock partition method to convert the one-dimensional modulated signal vector into a twodimensional signal matrix,increasing the confusion of the useful *** results demonstrate that the proposed DM scheme not only provides stronger anti-deciphering and anti-scanning capabilities but also improves the secrecy rate performance of the system.

As a promising imaging technology,the low sensitivity of fluorine-19 magnetic resonance imaging(^(19)F MRI)severely hinders its biomedical ***,we have developed an unprecedented rotaxanebased strategy to improve the sensitivity of^(19)F MRI *** threading the fluorinated macrocycle into2-blade pinwheel[2]rotaxanes,the^(19)F longitudinal relaxation rate R1was dramatically increased,resulting in a significant^(19)F MRI signal intensity enhancement of up to 79%.Through comparative molecular dynamics studies using a series of solution and solid-state^(1)H/^(19)F nuclear magnetic resonance(^(1)H/^(19)F NMR)and molecular dynamics simulations,it was found that the formation of mechanical bonds dramatically restricts the motion of the wheel fluorines and thus increasing the R1for higher^(19)F MRI *** a novel strategy for improving^(19)F MRI sensitivity,this study has established^(19)F NMR/MRI as a valuable technology for monitoring the molecular dynamics of rotaxanes,which may shed new light on high-performance^(19)F MRI agents and molecular devices.

Enhancing CO_(2)capture of an aminoethylethanolamine-based non-aqueous absorbent by using tertiary amine as a proton-transfer mediator:From performance to mechanism

Non-aqueous absorbents(NAAs)have attracted increasing attention for CO_(2)capture because of their great energy-saving *** diamines which can provide high CO_(2)absorption loading are promising candidates for formulating NAAs but suffer disadvantages in *** this study,a promising strategy that using tertiary amines(TAs)as proton-transfer mediators was proposed to enhance the regenerability of an aminoethylethanolamine(AEEA,diamine)/dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)(A/D)***,some employed TAs such as N,N-diethylaminoethanol(DEEA),N,N,N’,N’’,N’’-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine(PMDETA),3-dimethylamino-1-propanol(3DMA1P),and N,N-dimethylethanolamine(DMEA)enhanced not only the regenerability of the A/D NAA but also the CO_(2)absorption ***,the CO_(2)absorption loading and cyclic loading were increased by about 12.7%and 15.5%-22.7%,*** TA-enhanced CO_(2)capture mechanism was comprehensively explored via nuclear magnetic resonance technique and quantum chemical *** CO_(2)absorption,the TA acted as an ultimate proton acceptor for AEEA-zwitterion and enabled more AEEA to form carbamate species(AEEACOO-)to store CO_(2),thus enhancing CO_(2)*** CO_(2)desorption,the TA first provided protons directly to AEEACOO-as a proton donor;moreover,it functioned as a proton carrier and facilitated the low-energy step-wise proton transfer from protonated AEEA to AEEACOO-.Consequently,the presence of TA made it easier for AEEACOO-to obtain protons to decompose,resulting in enhanced CO_(2)*** a word,introducing the TA as a proton-transfer mediator into the A/D NAA enhanced both the CO_(2)absorption performance and the regenerability,which was an efficient way to“kill two birds with one stone”.

Ce-modified USY zeolite catalysts for catalytic oxidation of chlorinated VOCs:Effect of the location of CeO2 and its synergistic effect with USY zeolite

The catalytic behavior of a catalyst for chlorine-containing volatile organic compounds（CVOCs） oxidation largely depends on the synergistic interaction between the oxidizing and acidic *** the present work,two catalysts with different distributions of CeO2on the inner and outer surfaces of 4.0Ce-USY-ex and 4.0Ce-USY-dp（USY zeolite） were prepared respectively by ion exchange and deposition methods,with a purpose of finding out how the location of the oxidation sites（CeO2） influence its synergistic effect with the acidic sites of *** results show that 4.0Ce-USY-ex is much more active for catalytic degradation of 1,2-dichloroethane（DCE）,while 4.0Ce-USY-dp catalyst exhibit higher catalytic degradation activity for other structured CVOCs(dichloromethane（DCM）,trichloroethylene（TCE）,chlorobenzene（CB）).CeO2in 4.0Ce-USY-ex catalyst mainly disperses in the pore channels of USY zeolite,and there are many strong acid centers on the surface,which is conducive to the dechlorination conversion of ***,CeO2in 4.0Ce-USY-dp catalyst is mainly distributed on the outer surface of USY and has strong oxidation ability,which contributes to the deep oxidation of ***,the presence of a large number of strong acid centers on the catalyst surface of 4.0Ce-USY-ex catalysts leads to severe accumulation of surface carbon species and significantly decreases its stability towards ***,a large number of active oxygen species on the surface of 4.0Ce-USY-dp and CeO2catalysts are beneficial to the deep oxidation of DCE,reducing the formation of surface carbon and thus improving the stability of the ***,the influence of the location of the oxidation sites on its synergistic effect with the acidic sites was established in the present work,which could provide some new ideas for the rational design of CVOCs degradation catalyst with appropriate distribution of active sites.

The pH monitoring is significantly important in chemical industry,biological process,and pollution ***,it remains a great challenge to measure pH in extreme alkalinity ***,we employ an electrolyte-gated field-effect-transistor(FET)strategy using non-stoichiometric SrCoO_(x) with rich oxygen-vacancy defects as channel materials for detecting extreme *** corresponding channel can provide effective oxygen-ion-migration sites for reversible transformation of OH-↔O_(2)-+H^(+)driven by electric *** resultant electrolyte-gated FET sensor exhibits a sensitive linear response to high concentrations of alkaline solution,1–20 ***,the sensor has the ability to directly indicate the pH values ranging from 14.0 to 17.0 in consideration of ion-activity coefficient *** work offers a great possibility for directly detecting base concentration as well as pH values in extreme alkaline solutions.

Fabrication and integration of photonic devices for phase-change memory and neuromorphic computing

In the past decade,there has been tremendous progress in integrating chalcogenide phase-change materials(PCMs)on the silicon photonic platform for non-volatile memory to neuromorphic in-memory computing *** particular,these non von Neumann computational elements and systems benefit from mass manufacturing of silicon photonic integrated circuits(PICs)on 8-inch wafers using a 130 nm complementary metal-oxide semiconductor *** manufacturing based on deep-ultraviolet lithography and electron-beam lithography enables rapid prototyping of PICs,which can be integrated with high-quality PCMs based on the wafer-scale sputtering technique as a back-end-of-line *** this article,we present an overview of recent advances in waveguide integrated PCM memory cells,functional devices,and neuromorphic systems,with an emphasis on fabrication and integration processes to attain state-of-the-art device *** a short overview of PCM based photonic devices,we discuss the materials properties of the functional layer as well as the progress on the light guiding layer,namely,the silicon and germanium waveguide ***,we discuss the cleanroom fabrication flow of waveguide devices integrated with thin films and nanowires,silicon waveguides and plasmonic microheaters for the electrothermal switching of PCMs and mixed-mode ***,the fabrication of photonic and photonic–electronic neuromorphic computing systems is *** systems consist of arrays of PCM memory elements for associative learning,matrix-vector multiplication,and pattern *** large-scale integration,the neuromorphic photonic computing paradigm holds the promise to outperform digital electronic accelerators by taking the advantages of ultra-high bandwidth,high speed,and energy-efficient operation in running machine learning algorithms.

Cooperative decision-making algorithm with efficient convergence for UCAV formation in beyond-visual-range air combat based on multi-agent reinforcement learning

Highly intelligent Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle(UCAV)formation is expected to bring out strengths in Beyond-Visual-Range(BVR)air *** Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning(MARL)shows outstanding performance in cooperative decision-making,it is challenging for existing MARL algorithms to quickly converge to an optimal strategy for UCAV formation in BVR air combat where confrontation is complicated and reward is extremely sparse and *** to solve this problem,this paper proposes an Advantage Highlight Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization(AHMAPPO)***,at every step,the AHMAPPO records the degree to which the best formation exceeds the average of formations in parallel environments and carries out additional advantage sampling according to ***,the sampling result is introduced into the updating process of the actor network to improve its optimization ***,the simulation results reveal that compared with some state-of-the-art MARL algorithms,the AHMAPPO can obtain a more excellent strategy utilizing fewer sample episodes in the UCAV formation BVR air combat simulation environment built in this paper,which can reflect the critical features of BVR air *** AHMAPPO can significantly increase the convergence efficiency of the strategy for UCAV formation in BVR air combat,with a maximum increase of 81.5%relative to other algorithms.

Due to low immobilized ligand density,limited binding capacity,and severe interference from serum proteins,developing ideal peptide-based biomaterials for precise recognition and in vivo analysis of biopharmaceuticals remains a huge *** this study,mimotope peptide modified pompon mum-like biomimetic magnetic microparticles(MMPs,3.8μm)that mimic the specific functionalities of CD20 on malignant B cells were developed for the first *** from the numerous ligand binding sites(Ni^(2+))on the pompon mum-like MMPs,these novel materials achieved≥10 times higher peptide ligand densities(>2300 mg/g)and antibody binding capacities(1380 mg/g)compared to previous reported *** the high specificity of the mimotope peptide,rituximab can be precisely recognized and enriched from cell culture media or serum *** also established an LC-MS/MS method using the MMPs for tracking rituximab biotransformation in patient ***,deamidation of Asn55 and Asn33,as well as oxidation of Met81 and Met34 were observed at the key complementarity determining regions of rituximab,which could potentially influence antibody function and require careful ***,these versatile biomimetic MMPs demonstrate superior recognition and enrichment capabilities for target antibodies,offering interesting possibilities for biotransformation analysis of biopharmaceuticals in patient serum.
