A Semi-shared Hierarchical Joint Model for Sequence Labeling

Multi-task learning is an essential yet practical mechanism for improving overall performance in various machine learning fields. Owing to the linguistic hierarchy, the hierarchical joint model is a common architecture used in natural language processing. However, in the state-of-the-art hierarchical joint models, higher-level tasks only share bottom layers or latent representations with lower-level tasks thus ignoring correlations between tasks at different levels, i.e., lower-level tasks cannot be instructed by the higher features. This paper investigates how to advance the correlations among various tasks supervised at different layers in an end-to-end hierarchical joint learning model. We propose a semi-shared hierarchical model that contains cross-layer shared modules and layer-specific modules. To fully leverage the mutual information between various tasks at different levels, we design four different dataflows of latent representations between the shared and layer-specific modules. Extensive experiments on CTB-7 and CONLL-2009 show that our semi-shared approach outperforms basic hierarchical joint models on sequence tagging while having much fewer parameters. It inspires us that the proper implementation of the cross-layer sharing mechanism and residual shortcuts is promising to improve the performance of hierarchical joint natural language processing models while reducing the model complexity.

Flow Characteristics Analysis of TC18 Titanium Alloy during Hot Deformation Based on Phase Transformation

An accurate flow stress model was established by considering the parameters of strain rate,strain and temperature as well asβ→a+βphase transformation in order to develop the plastic forming theory of TC18 titanium alloy.Firstly,the phase transition kinetics of TC18 titanium alloy during isothermal and continuous cooling at 1073 and 1273 K was studied by thermodynamic calculation,meanwhile,the relationship of volume fraction of phase transition with temperature and time was obtained.Constitutive models were calculated by investigating flow behaviors under hot compression tests with the strain rates of 0.001-1s^(-1) and temperatures of 973-1223 K in the singleβand a+βregions in TC18 titanium alloy,respectively.By combining the phase transformation dynamic kinetics with constitutive models,an accurate flow stress model was established,providing theoretical basis and data support for the hot forging of TC18 titanium alloy.

How to Implement the Wholesale Price Contract: Considering Competition between Supply Chains

In this paper,we develop the price competition model of two supply chains,in which each supply chain includes one core manufacturer and one retailer,respectively.The manufacturer in each supply chain sells products to the retailer through a commonly-used wholesale price contract.Each manufacturer has two options to implement the wholesale price contract:playing the Stackelberg game with the retailer and playing the bargaining game with the retailer.Based on the manufacturer's two alternative performing modes in each supply chain,we consider four combined performing modes of two competitive supply chains in the model.By comparing equilibrium results,we find that when both manufacturers choose to bargain with retailers,the sales volume increases and the sales price decreases.Moreover,the manufacturers'mode option is affected by bargaining power,product quality level,and the cost of improving product quality.Specifically,when both bargaining power and the cost of improving product quality are relatively small,both manufacturers choose to play Stackelberg game with retailers.When manufacturers'bargaining power is sufficiently large,regardless of the cost of improving product quality,both manufacturers choose to bargain with retailers.Surprisingly,when the manufacturer chooses to bargain the wholesale price with the retailer,higher product quality is not always beneficial to the retailer because the retailer may have to share part of the cost of the manufacturer.

The authors introduce the conception of stationary map-varifold pairs and prove a compactness result.As applications,they analyse the asymptotic structure of the pseudo tangent map of stationary harmonic maps.For stationary pair,they also get a strong convergence criterion about the map part and introduce the stratification of the singular set.

Knowledge graph technology has distinct advantages in terms of fault diagnosis.In this study,the control rod drive mechanism(CRDM)of the liquid fuel thorium molten salt reactor(TMSR-LF1)was taken as the research object,and a fault diagnosis system was proposed based on knowledge graph.The subject–relation–object triples are defined based on CRDM unstructured data,including design specification,operation and maintenance manual,alarm list,and other forms of expert experience.In this study,we constructed a fault event ontology model to label the entity and relationship involved in the corpus of CRDM fault events.A three-layer robustly optimized bidirectional encoder representation from transformers(RBT3)pre-training approach combined with a text convolutional neural network(TextCNN)was introduced to facilitate the application of the constructed CRDM fault diagnosis graph database for fault query.The RBT3-TextCNN model along with the jieba tool is proposed for extracting entities and recognizing the fault query intent simultaneously.Experiments on the dataset collected from TMSR-LF1 CRDM fault diagnosis unstructured data demonstrate that this model has the potential to improve the effect of intent recognition and entity extraction.Additionally,a fault alarm monitoring module was developed based on WebSocket protocol to deliver detailed information about the appeared fault to the operator automatically.Furthermore,the Bayesian inference method combined with the variable elimination algorithm was proposed to enable the development of a relatively intelligent and reliable fault diagnosis system.Finally,a CRDM fault diagnosis Web interface integrated with graph data visualization was constructed,making the CRDM fault diagnosis process intuitive and effective.

Recently,as aerodynamics was applied to flying vehicles with very high speed and flying at high altitude,the numerical simulation based on the Navier-Stokes(NS)equations was found that cannot correctly predict certain aero-thermo-dynamic properties in a certain range of velocity and altitude while the Knudsen number indicates that the flow is still in the continuum regime.As first noted by zhou and Zhang(Science in China,2015),the invalidity of NS equations for such flows might be attributed to an non-equilibrium effect originating from the combined effects of gas rarefaction and strong shear in the boundary-layer flows.In this paper,we present the scope,physical concept,mathematical model of this shear non-equilibrium effect in hypersonic flows,as well as the way of considering this effect in conventional computational fluid mechanics(CFD)for engineering applications.Several hypersonic flows over sharp bodies and blunt bodies are analyzed by the proposed new continuum model,named direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC)data-improved Navier-Stokes(DiNS)model.
