Chinese Medicine Plaster as A New Treatment for Surgical Site Infection in Patients with Cesarean Delivery:A Randomized,Double-Blind,Controlled Trial

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Chinese plaster containing rhubarb and mirabilite on surgical site infection(SSI)in patients with cesarean delivery(CD)by performing a randomized controlled *** This randomized controlled trial included 560 patients with CD due to fetal head descent enrolled at a tertiary teaching center between December 31,2018 and October 31,*** patients were randomly assigned to a Chinese medicine(CM)group(280 cases)or a placebo group(280 cases)by a random number table,and were treated with CM plaster(made by rhubarb and mirabilite)or a placebo plaster,*** courses of treatment lasted from the day 1 of CD,followed day 2 until *** primary outcome was the total number of patients with superficial,deep and organ/space *** secondary outcome was duration of postoperative hospital stay,antibiotic intake,and unplanned readmission or reoperation due to *** reported efficacy and safety outcomes were confirmed by a central adjudication committee that was unaware of the study-group *** During the recovery process after CD,the rates of localized swelling,redness and heat were significantly lower in the CM group than in the placebo group[7.55%(20/265)vs.17.21%(47/274),P<0.01].The durution of postoperative antibiotic intake was shorter in the CM group than in the placebo group(P<0.01).The duration of postoperative hospital stay was significantly shorter in the CM group than in the placebo group(5.49±2.68 days vs.8.96±2.35 days,P<0.01).The rate of postoperative C-reactive protein elevation(≽100 mg/L)was lower in the CM group than in the placebo group[27.6%(73/265)vs.43.8%(120/274),P<0.01].However,there was no difference in purulent drainage rate from incision and superficial opening of incision between the two *** intestinal reactions and skin allergies were found in the CM *** CM plaster containing rhubarb and mirabilite had an effect on *** is safe for mothers and im

Increased contribution of microbial necromass to soil organic carbon in solar farms on the Tibetan Plateau

Solar farms have been rapidly expanding on the Qinghai-Tibetan ***,the effects of photovoltaic arrays on the contribution of microbial necromass carbon(MNC)to soil organic carbon(SOC),along with the underlying mechanisms,remain *** address this,we collected soil samples from the top 20 cm in under-panel,inter-panel and control plots at five solar farms constructed between 2012 and 2014 in the dry Yarlung Tsangpo and Lhasa River valleys on the Qinghai-Tibetan *** determined SOC,fungal and bacterial necromass and relevant soil *** found that the concentration of MNC in the under-panel plots(3.93±0.79 mg g-1)was significantly higher compared to the control plots(2.28±0.79 mg g-1)across all five solar *** proportion of MNC to SOC in the under-panel plots(34.7±2.4%)was also significantly higher than that in the control plots(27.5±1.4%).Specifically,the contribution of fungal necromass to SOC in the under-panel plots(26.4±2.2%)was significantly larger than that in the control plots(19.7±1.6%),while the increase in the bacterial necromass proportion was *** least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)indicated a significant and positive effect of increased soil moisture in the under-panel plots on the proportion of fungal necromass to *** results highlight that beyond their economic benefits,solar farms in the arid regions on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau can enhance soil C sequestration by improving soil moisture and promoting microbial necromass accumulation.

A Multi-Condition Sequential Network Ensemble for Industrial Energy Storage Prediction Considering the Condition Switching Characteristics

As a crucial storage and buffering apparatus for balancing the production and consumption of byproduct gases in industrial processes, accurate prediction of gas tank levels is essential for optimizing energy system scheduling. Considering that the continuous switching of the pressure and valve status(mechanism knowledge) would bring about multiple working conditions of the equipment, a multi-condition time sequential network ensembled method is proposed. In order to especially consider the time dependence of different conditions, a centralwise condition sequential network is developed, where the network branches are specially designed based on the condition switching sequences. A branch combination transfer learning strategy is developed to tackle the sample imbalance problem of different condition data. Since the condition or status data are real-time information that cannot be recognized during the prediction process, a pre-trained and ensemble learning approach is further proposed to fuse the outputs of the multi-condition networks and realize a transient-state involved prediction. The performance of the proposed method is validated on practical energy data coming from a domestic steel plant, comparing with the state-of-the-art algorithms. The results show that the proposed method can maintain a high prediction accuracy under different condition switching cases, which would provide effective guidance for the optimal scheduling of the industrial energy systems.

P-tuned FeN2 binuclear sites for boosted CO2 electro-reduction

Least Square Estimation for Multiple Functional Linear Model with Autoregressive Errors

As an extension of linear regression in functional data analysis, functional linear regression has been studied by many researchers and applied in various fields. However, in many cases, data is collected sequentially over time, for example the financial series, so it is necessary to consider the autocorrelated structure of errors in functional regression background. To this end, this paper considers a multiple functional linear model with autoregressive errors. Based on the functional principal component analysis, we apply the least square procedure to estimate the functional coefficients and autoregression coefficients. Under some regular conditions, we establish the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the finite sample performance of our estimators. A real example on China's weather data is applied to illustrate the validity of our model.

The hot deformation behavior of Pt−10Ir alloy was studied under a wide range of deformation *** a low deformation temperature(950−1150℃),the softening mechanism is primarily dynamic *** addition,dynamic recrystallization by progressive lattice rotation near grain boundaries(DRX by LRGBs)and microshear bands assisted dynamic recrystallization(MSBs assisted DRX)coordinate the ***,it is difficult for the dynamic softening to offset the stain hardening due to a limited amount of DRXed *** a high deformation temperature(1250−1350℃),three main DRX mechanisms associated with strain rates occur:DRX by LRGBs,DRX by a homogeneous increase in misorientation(HIM)and geometric DRX(GDRX).With increasing strain,DRX by LRGBs is enhanced gradually under high strain rates;the“pinch-off”effect is enhanced at low strain rates,which was conducive to the formation of a uniform and fine microstructure.

Blockade of 4-1BB/4-1BB ligand interactions prevents acute rejection in rat liver transplantation

Background Blocking the 4-1BB/4-1BB ligand （4-1BBL） signal may modulate the secretion of Th1/Th2 cytokines and prolong the survival of the grafts, which play a key role in organ transplantation tolerance. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of blockade of the 4-1BB/4-1BBL co-stimulatory pathway with 4-1BBL monoclonal antibody （mAB） in acute rejection of rat orthotopic liver transplantation. Methods The orthotopic liver transplantation model was set up, while male Lewis rats were used as liver donors and Brown-Norway rats as recipients. The recipient rats were intravenously injected with anti 4-1BBL mAB or isotype control antibody. Groups were monitored for graft survival after transplantation. Plasma chemistry, including aspartate transaminase （AST）, alanine aminotransferase （ALT）, and bilirubin （BIL）, was assayed. The concentrations of interleukin （IL）-2, IL-10 and interferon （IFN）-γ in plasma were also measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Allograft histology images were collected under light microscope and electron microscope. Results Isotype antibody treated recipients exhibited elevated plasma levels of liver injury markers including AST, ALT and BIL, progressive portal and venous inflammation and cellular infiltration of the liver ailografts, and a mean graft survival time （MST） of 10.9 days. Administration of anti 4-1BBL mAB resulted in a decrease in plasma levels of liver injury markers and the concentrations of IL-2, IL-10 and IFN-γ. The histological grade of rejection on day 7 decreased and MST （17.3 days） increased substantially. Conclusions These results demonstrate that attenuation of acute rejection follows the blockade of the 4-1BB/4-1BBL co-stimulatory pathway with 4-1BBL monoclonal antibody and strongly suggest it is a promising strategy to prevent progression of graft rejection by suppressing T cell-mediated immunity.

First Passage Probability of Structures under Non-Gaussian Stochastic Behavior

An analytical moment-based method was proposed for calculating first passage probability of structures under non-Gaussian stochastic behaviour. In the method, the third-moment standardization that con- stants can be obtained from first three-order response moments was used to map a non-Gaussian structural response into a standard Gaussian process; then the mean up-crossing rates, the mean clump size and the initial passage probability of some critical barrier level by the original structural response were estimated. Finally, the formula for calculating first passage probability was established on the assumption that the corrected up-crossing rates are independent. By a nonlinear single-degree-of-freedom system excited by a stationary Gaussian load, it is demonstrated how the procedure can be used for the type of structures considered. Further, comparisons between the results from the present procedure and those from Monte-Carlo simulation are performed.
