Characteristics of breccia lava reservoirs and analysis of their dominant factors: case study of the Xushen gas field located in the Songliao Basin

Breccia lava is a type of rock in transition between volcanic clastic rock and lava. Its physical properties are compara-tively special, while the nature of its genesis and the formation of reservoirs, deposits and concentrations vary considerably. In order to discover the different genesis for breccia lava reservoirs, our study has been carried out on breccia lava for its rock constituents, structures, diagenesis and reconstruction from tectonic movements to mineral depositions. From our analysis, we conclude that the main type of reservoir is a secondary emposieu, where rock compositions, structures, diagenesis and tectonic action are the major contributing factors to the deposition of breccia lava and its properties. Diagenesis constrained the extent of conservation of the primary pore of breccia lava and produced secondary porosity. The roles of tectonics were played out through the formation controlling tectonic fissures inside breccia lava and affected the impermeability of breccia lava fluids. The constituents of lava rock determine directly the type of diagenesis and its response to tectonic action. At the time of appropriate rock composition and structures, constructive formation occurred to breccia lava. Breccia lava also responded proactively to tectonic movements, forming the best quality collective reservoir agglomerations of vast spaces and strong permeability.

Demonstration of 60 GHz millimeter-wave short-range wireless communication system at 3.5 Gbps over 5 m range

Millimeter-wave communication has received considerable attention for use in new-generation broadband wireless communication because of the scarcity of microwave band spectrum resources. The unlicensed frequency band at 60 GHz is suitable for indoor short-range broadband communication. In this paper, we introduce a 60 GHz millimeter-wave short-range wireless communication demo system adhering to the IEEE 802.11 ad standard and targeting high-definition video streaming transmission. The system uses single-carrier transmission with frequency-domain equalization. The hardware prototype consists of a 65-nm CMOS radio-frequency front-end and a baseband transceiver for the physical layer functions. Important baseband technologies such as carrier synchronization, phase noise compensation, frequency-domain equalization, and low-density parity-check decoding based on probability calculation are also discussed. The system performance is demonstrated in an experiment on high-definition video transmission, where a data rate of 3.52 Gbps is achieved with a quadrature phase-shift keying signal over a distance of 5.109 m.

With the growing demand of oil worldwide,heavy oil has increasingly become vital in the world energy ***,further development of heavy oil reservoirs are limited by regular enhanced oil recovery(EOR)*** situ upgrading technology provides potential for the development of heavy oil and bitumen *** study reviews three categories of in situ upgrading methods:solvent-based,in situ combustion(ISC),and ***-based methods,including cyclic solvent injection,vapor extraction,and hybrid processes,have recently received attention and have been progressed in both laboratory and field ***,high solvent costs in relation to the low price of heavy oil have continued to limit the field applications of these ***,which may have the potential to develop particularly harsh reservoirs with extremely viscous crude oil,involves complex reaction mechanisms and consists of three main steps:oxidation,combustion,and gas ***,complex operating conditions and a low success rate have restricted its *** methods,which have demonstrated the potential to refine and upgrade crude oil in a more economic and environmentally friendly way,are often accompanied by conventional thermal EOR methods,such as steam flooding and ISC,and involve a series of hydroprocessing or hydrotreating reactions,such as hydrocracking,hydrodesulfurization,hydrodenitrogenation,hydrodeoxygenation,and ***,the high cost and complexity of the reaction mechanisms have limited their applications.

Monitoring and predicting the soil water content in the deeper soil profile of Loess Plateau,China

Estimation of soil water content(SWC)in deep soil profiles is of crucial importance for strategic management of water resource for sustainable land use in arid and semi-arid zones,as well as for soil and water *** properties have a very important effect on *** study aimed to analyze the influence of soil particle size on SWC,for the first time using soil particle size to estimate SWC in deep soil *** was measured mainly in farmland,natural grasslands and plantations of Caragana from the surface to more than 20 m *** same soil samples were also tested for particle *** results show that the soil desiccation is formed in the caragana forest in 3–18 m soil layers,but almost no formation in 18–24 m layers;water content of farmland and grassland is different in all soil profiles although they are both shallow rooted *** analysis indicated that SWC could be well predicted by clay content and the close correlation between SWC and clay content yielded a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of 0.82 and 0.72,respectively,for farmland and *** multiple regression analysis,a regression model was built using SWC,clay content and sand content data,giving R^(2)=*** model provided reliable estimates of SWC profile based on textural *** can assist in estimating water depletion by vegetation,by comparing moisture of farmland and grassland soils with that of plantation forests,and in selecting sustainable land use of arid land.

Hydroformylation of alkenes over rhodium supported on the metal-organic framework ZlF-8

A highly porous and crystalline metal-organic framework （MOF） ZIF-8 has been synthesized and used for the preparation of a supported rhodium nanoparticle catalyst （Rh@ZIF-8）. The material has been characterized by PXRD, TEM, EDX, ICP-AES and nitrogen adsorption. The catalytic properties of Rh@ZIF-8 have been investigated in the hydroformylation of alkenes, with different chain length and structure, to give the corresponding aldehydes, and showed high activity. Furthermore, after the reaction was complete, the catalyst could be easily separated from the products by simple decantation and reused five times without a significant decrease in the activity under the investigated conditions.

Do nocturnal birds use acoustic and visual cues to avoid predation by bats?

Anti-predation strategies are critical to animal survival and are fundamental to deciphering predator–prey *** an important defense strategy,sensory predator detection(such as through acoustic and visual cues)enables animals to assess predation risk and execute predator-avoidance behavior;however,there are limited studies on the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal *** prey of bats provides an excellent representative system for examining the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal ***,we broadcasted different types of echolocation calls of the bird-eating bat Ia io to two wild passerine birds,namely,Zosterops japonicus and Sinosuthora webbiana,that are preyed upon by ***,and presented the birds with individual bats under different light *** results showed that both bird species were able to perceive the low-frequency audible portion of the bats’echolocation calls;however,they did not exhibit escape responses to the acoustic *** the dark and under moonlit conditions,both bird species were unable to respond to active bats at close range and the birds only exhibited evasive flight behavior when bats approached or touched *** results suggest that nocturnal passerine birds may not be able to use acoustic or visual cues to detect bats and adopt evasive maneuvers to avoid *** work suggests that bat predation pressure may not elicit primary predator-avoidance responses in nocturnal passerine *** results provide new insights into the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal animals.

Individual variation in buffalo somatic cell cloning efficiency is related to glycolytic metabolism

Mammalian individuals differ in their somatic cell cloning efficiency,but the mechanisms leading to this variation is poorly *** we found that high cloning efficiency buffalo fetal fibroblasts(BFFs)displayed robust energy metabolism,looser chromatin structure,high H3 K9 acetylation and low heterochromatin protein 1α(HP1α)*** cloning efficiency BFFs had more H3 K9 ac regions near to the upstream of glycolysis genes by Ch IP-seq,and involved more openness loci related to glycolysis genes through *** expression of these glycolysis genes was also found to be higher in high cloning efficiency BFFs by q *** key enzymes of glycolysis,PDKs and LDH,were confirmed to be associated with histone acetylation and chromatin openness of *** of low cloning efficiency BFFs with PS48(activator of PDK1)resulted in an increase in the intracellular lactate production and H3 K9 acetylation,decrease in histone deacetylase activity and HP1αexpression,less condensed chromatin structure and more cloning embryos developing to *** results indicate that the cloning efficiency of buffalo somatic cells is associated with their glycolytic metabolism and chromatin structure,and can be improved by increasing glycolytic metabolism.
