Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infections in children: an overview of systematic reviews and Meta-analyses

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate and summarise the evidence from published Meta-analyses/systematic reviews(MAs/SRs) of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in the treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infections(RRTIs) and to provide a scientific basis for the clinical treatment of RRTIs with TCM. METHODS: Studies were retrieved from Chinese and English databases including the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, SinoM ed, PubM ed, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library and EMbase from their establishment date to March 2023. Involved studies were screened, extracted, and evaluated for quality by two researchers independently. The a measurement tool to assess systematic reviews(AMSTAR) 2 scale was used for methodological quality evaluation, as well as the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and Meta-analyses(PRISMA) 2020 statement for report quality evaluation, the risk of bias in systematic reviews(ROBIS) tool for risk of bias, and the grading of recommendations, assessment, development and evaluation(GRADE) quality assessment tool for evidence quality. RESULTS: Twenty MAs/SRs studies were included, including analyses of 274 original studies involving 38 335 patients with RRTIs. The AMSTAR 2 scale evaluation results showed that 19 studies were of very low quality and one of moderate quality. The ROBIS evaluation results showed that 11 MAs/SRs were at high risk and nine at low risk of bias. The PRISMA 2020 report quality showed the included studies had scores between 23.5 and 35.5, among them one with high quality, 17 with moderate quality and two with low quality. The GRADE system results showed that among 126 outcome indicators, only 17 had moderate quality of evidence, 27 had low quality, 82 had very low quality, and none had high quality. 莓叶委陵菜(Potentilla fragarioidis)作为我国北方地区极具开发潜力的乡土地被植物,存在着有性繁殖材料不易获得且繁殖系数较低的问题。而扦插繁殖作为一种无性繁殖手段,能为莓叶委陵菜的快速繁殖提供新的途径。本研究以莓叶委陵菜生长健壮、无病虫害的叶为试验材料,通过正交试验针对不同扦插基质、激素种类及其浓度对莓叶委陵菜叶插生根效果的影响进行探究。结果表明,莓叶委陵菜插穗在扦插45 d后能够形成根系,不同处理水平的扦插基质、激素种类及其浓度间的交互效应对插穗生根效果的影响具有显著差异(P<0.05)。扦插基质是影响莓叶委陵菜叶插生根率的主导因子,而激素种类是影响平均单株生根数、平均单株总根长、最长根长和根系效果指数的主要因素。以草炭+珍珠岩+蛭石(1:1:1)为基质,扦插前使用300 mg·L^(-1)的IBA对插穗进行处理生根效果最佳,该处理方式下扦插生根率达63.33%,平均单株生根数为6.90条,平均单株总根长为27.98 cm,最长根长13.83 cm,根系效果指数达20.50。本研究结果可为莓叶委陵菜无性系繁殖体系的快速建立提供理论依据。

Glucose Protects Cochlear Hair Cells Against Oxidative Stress and Attenuates Noise-Induced Hearing Loss in Mice

Oxidative stress is the key determinant in the pathogenesis of noise-induced hearing loss(NIHL). Given that cellular defense against oxidative stress is an energyconsuming process, the aim of the present study was to investigate whether increasing energy availability by glucose supplementation protects cochlear hair cells against oxidative stress and attenuates NIHL. Our results revealed that glucose supplementation reduced the noiseinduced formation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and consequently attenuated noise-induced loss of outer hair cells, inner hair cell synaptic ribbons, and NIHL in CBA/J mice. In cochlear explants, glucose supplementation increased the levels of ATP and NADPH, as well as attenuating H_2O_2-induced ROS production and cytotoxicity. Moreover, pharmacological inhibition of glucose transporter type 1 activity abolished the protective effects of glucose against oxidative stress in HEI-OC1 cells. These findings suggest that energy availability is crucial for oxidative stress resistance and glucose supplementation offers a simple and effective approach for the protection of cochlear hair cells against oxidative stress and NIHL.

为明确不同铁线莲品种的叶片结构与其耐热性的关系,本研究利用扫描电镜观察了6个市场热销的铁线莲品种叶片结构,并对叶片厚度、表皮细胞、栅栏组织厚度等15项指标进行聚类分析和相关性分析,筛选出最具代表性的耐热性鉴定指标,利用平均隶属函数分析6个铁线莲品种耐热性的综合评价。结果表明:6个铁线莲品种叶片解剖结构显示上表皮厚度普遍大于下表皮厚度,栅栏组织细胞排列紧密,胞间隙小,海绵组织排列疏松,细胞间隙大而多,大多数海绵组织厚度大于栅栏组织厚度。对栅栏组织厚度等5个代表性指标进行隶属函数分析,得到6个铁线莲品种的耐热性排序为‘啤酒’>‘朱莉’>‘蓝光’>‘紫铃铛’>‘紫色旋律’>‘前卫’。该评价方法为更科学有效地评价铁线莲耐热性提供了参考价值,为筛选耐热种质和开展育种研究奠定基础。

Regional homogeneity on resting state fMRI in patients with tinnitus

Objective:To study central functional network connections and their alterations in tinnitus patients using ***:Regional homogeneity(ReHo) values on fMRI were obtained from 18 tinnitus patients and 20 age and gender-matched control *** values were compared between tinnitus patients and control subjects to evaluate functional network connection ***:Tinnitus patients showed increased ReHo values in gyrus frontalis inferior and decreased ReHo values in the anterior lobe of cerebellum in comparison with the *** of functional network connection from the gyrus frontalis interior shows stronger connections to the middle brain(FWE,P < 0.001) and right ventral striatum(FEW,P < 0.05,small volume correction).Conclusions:The fMRI results indicate that both auditory and non-auditory centers play important roles in *** connections among the auditory cortex,thalamus,medial temporal gyrus,parahippocampal gyrus and insula may be an underlying cause for the development of tinnitus.

Regional homogeneity and functional connectivity in resting-state brain activity in tinnitus patients

Objective:Subjective tinnitus is characterized by the perception of sound in the absence of any external auditory *** perceived sound may be related to altered intrinsic neural activity generated along the central auditory *** retrospective study was designed to investigate regional homogeneity and functional connectivity in the resting-state brain activity of patients with ***:We recruited tinnitus patients with normal hearing or mild hearing loss(n=17)and age-matched healthy controls(n=20),and examined regional homogeneity and functional connectivity in resting-state brain activity using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging *** present study protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board on Experimental Ethics at Sun Yat-sen University,China(approval ***-KY-KS-2019-083).Results:Compared with normal controls,patients with tinnitus had significantly decreased regional homogeneity in the anterior lobe of the cerebellum and increased homogeneity in the inferior frontal gyrus(P<0.05 corrected at a cluster-level).In addition,tinnitus patients showed enhanced functional connectivity between the inferior frontal gyrus and the ventral striatum and midbrain,as well as increased connectivity between the cerebellum and ventromedial prefrontal cortex(P<0.05 corrected at a cluster-level).We also found decreased connectivity between the cerebellum and the anterior insula compared with controls(P<0.05 corrected at a cluster-level).Conclusion:Abnormal connectivity in non-auditory brain structures,particularly those related to emotion processing,may be associated with tinnitus persistence.

环状RNA(circRNA)已被证明在众多生物过程中起着重要的调控作用,而circRNA在甲型流感病毒(IAV)复制过程中的功能尚不清楚。本研究旨在利用高通量测序分析IAV感染A549细胞后的circRNA表达谱变化来挖掘能够影响病毒复制的circRNAs并对其进行初步功能鉴定。利用测序结果,对全部circRNAs进行特征分析、差异表达筛选;对差异circRNAs进行GO分析、KEGG分析;对候选circRNAs进行qPCR、RT-PCR验证及Sanger测序鉴定,并通过空斑试验确定影响病毒复制的circRNAs。结果:本试验共筛选到11 630条差异表达circRNAs,对其中6条circRNA进行了鉴定,最终确定novel_circ_007428具有抗病毒作用。本研究对甲型流感病毒感染A549细胞后的circRNA表达谱进行了分析与鉴定,为进一步研究circRNA在流感病毒感染中发挥的调控作用奠定了基础。

Prospects for Jovian seismology with the Lenghu planetary telescope

Jupiter is one of the top priorities for deep space exploration in China and other countries. The structure of Jupiter's interior, in particular, is a crucial but still unclear scientific topic. This paper discusses current scientific understanding of Jupiter's interior by summarizing the history of past and current exploration and data analysis. We review recent space-based and ground-based observation methods and analyze their feasibility. To gain new insight into the internal structure of Jupiter, we propose to study Jupiter's innards by planetary seismology. Ground-based observation, namely the Jupiter Seismologic Interferometer Polarization Imager(SIPI) in Lenghu,will be developed to obtain the Doppler velocity distribution on the surface of Jupiter and identify oscillation signals. Lenghu has observation conditions that are not only exceptional in China but even in the world, capable of providing novel insight into the interior of Jupiter. This will also be the first study in China of the interior of Jupiter using asteroseismology, which has significant implications for China's plans to explore Jupiter via spacecraft-mounted instruments.

基于数据挖掘的盆腔炎性疾病动物模型应用分析

目的探究盆腔炎性疾病(pelvic inflammatory disease,PID)动物模型的造模要素和评价指标,为改进PID动物模型的造模方法、完善PID动物模型的合理应用提供参考依据。方法以“盆腔炎”并且“动物模型”或“鼠”或“豚鼠”或“兔”或“犬”或“猪”为主题词,在中国知网数据库、万方数据库和PubMed中检索2013—2023年发表的PID动物模型相关文献,对文献中记载的实验动物种类、造模方法、造模周期、检测指标、阳性对照用药和给药时间等内容进行整理归纳,建立数据库并进行统计分析。结果检索筛选出214篇符合纳入标准的PID动物模型文献。其中,模型动物种类选用最多的是SD大鼠,其次为Wistar大鼠;最常用的造模方式是机械损伤联合细菌感染法,其次是苯酚胶浆法;急性盆腔炎(acute pelvic inflammatory disease,APID)和慢性盆腔炎(chronic pelvic inflammatory disease,CPID)/盆腔炎性疾病后遗症(sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease,SPID)动物造模周期频次最高的是8~14 d,其他不明确分期PID造模周期频数最高的是7 d;高频检测指标包括用苏木精-伊红染色法观察组织病理、酶联免疫吸附法检测血清相关指标、肉眼观察组织外观变化、免疫组化法检测子宫组织中相关蛋白表达和病理评分等;阳性对照药物应用频次最高的是妇科千金片,其次是金刚藤胶囊;APID给药时间频数最高的是7 d,CPID/SPID动物模型给药时间频次最多的是15~21 d。结论目前SD大鼠和Wistar大鼠是制备PID模型常用的实验动物,采用机械损伤加混合细菌感染双重造模法与临床发病机制吻合度较高,可建立术后宫腔感染引起的PID模型;根据研究目的不同,可选取不同的阳性对照药物和检测指标进行整体评价。现有的PID动物模型研究大都以西医诊断为标准,对中医症候动物模型的研究较少,需结合中医理论病因病机,构建更符合中医临床病证的PID动物模型。
